around 1-1.5k for processor, mobo, and PSU. maybe a new piece of ram too.

My total budget would be around 3k full set excluding monitor. But i dont think i need a new video card so soon. Just wanted to replace my spoiled mobo, and to be able to play fifa16 and cs only. I assume my video card can support fifa16 right?

If you want to reuse your current RAM, you need to go with Haswell (4th gen), assuming it's DDR3 1333MHz/1600MHz, make sure it is compatible with new RAM, if not compatible, new 8GB RAM is enough for now.

Intel Core i5 4460 - RM 769
MSI B85M-E45 - RM 313
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 199
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 199

Total: RM 1480 (Viewnet price inclusive of GST)

Hi Terence, thank you for the suggestion.

I think I'll just get the new 8gb ram since old ram is very old, don't think it will last long. So its ok to use my old video card first, and upgrade to a much better one later right.

Just noticed that viewnet is located at KL, I'm in Malacca, that's mean I need to order from their shop? Do they help the customer to assemble and install the os?

Need a suggestion for cpu cooler, case is Corsair Air 240.
Or if I really need a third party cooler for my i5 4690 no OC, only for movie, surfing, coding and gaming?

Unless you can find ASRock H81M-ITX (very rare here), I don't think there is a mITX mobo cheaper than ASRock B85M-ITX now.

H81 chipset doesn't support front USB 3.0 panel natively unless the manufacturer mod it so B85 chipset is the way to go if you want native USB 3.0 support by the chipset. If you don't mind rear USB 3.0 then H81 mobos already have it.

i3 + GTX970 will cause bottleneck in some CPU intensive games where GPU has enough power but CPU pulls down the performance.

And please take note some games cannot run on dual core CPU even though it has 2 virtual cores.

Sigh, do any of the mentioned shop in this thread do postage?

Never assemble a pc, install os and other necessary software before.

Edited: just noticed there is thundermatch available in melaka, although their stocks may not be as much as those in KL.

Try Idealtech then, free postage (for rig > 3k) and rig installation.

Added the entry level of Skylake while retaining other hardware.

Intel Core i5 6400 - RM 829
Gigabyte H170 Gaming 3 - RM 559
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM - RM 289
Gainward GTX750 1GB GDDR5 - RM 439
WD Blue 500GB HDD - RM 180
FSP Hexa+ 550W - RM 169
Thermaltake Versa H25 - RM 130

Total: RM 2595 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

Haswell can serve you well with your requirements actually, so no need to spend another RM 500 just to get Skylake due to the price of Skylake mobo (DDR4 based) is very expensive. You can think of switching back to DDR3 based Skylake but there are reports saying DDR3 (1.5V and 1.65V) RAM will damage the memory controller due to high voltage so it is not recommended until a fix is issued.
