I m using this version too....can select the drive but cannot view the zip file sweat.gif or maybe i missed something.

Mount OTG 1st, then install from OTG usb...
Now I'm using twrp so kenot simulate...

I think people are confusing on OTA / ROOT / GAPPS

For stock rom (DEV & ST)
- if u want OTA, u will not be able to install GAPPS & ROOT.
Why ? Bcoz stock ROM doesn't coming with GAPPS & ROOT. So to have it, u need to install via recovery.
But ? U're unable to install GAPSS & ROOT via stock recovery coz stock recovery didn't recognize the zip format
So ? To solve this, u need to flash custom recovery (cwm/twrp) via flashtool
Then ? Once cwm/twrp installed, then u can install GAPPS & ROOTS
OTA ? OTA can be dloaded into the hp but when u wanna install, it'll detect that u don't have stock recovery. Hence, failed to install.
Solution ? If u wanna latest ST rom, u need to dload the whole rom (8++mb) and flash via cwm/twrp. Then flash GAPPS & ROOT again. Once ur hp booted, u need to restore all ur app via Titanium Backup.

Hey guys need some help..

Apparently I can't get TWRP into the phone.

12. Select "MT6752_Android_scatter" in "K3NOTE-TWRP-2.8.6.0-ENG" folder
13. Press "Ctrl + D"
14. Off HP until vibrate.
15. Wait around 10 secs
16. Connect hp (with battery attached) to usb PC via usb
17. Wait until completed --> nothing happens here..



I have already reinstalled LenovoUSBDriver but it still doesn't work.. nothing gets triggered.

Any ideas?

Try this :-
1.Install Mobile Uncle tool
2.Extract the TWRP folder and get the TWRP.img
3.Place the TWRP.img in your internal memory.
4.Go to Mobile uncle tool - back up your EFS to internal & external memory FIRST.
5.Choose Update the recovery file - youtube

Just download the preloader mt65 drivers.. restart. than you can use flash tool.. My problem right now.. after i install Gapps.. stuck at lenovo logo only.. rom 1524 St can't install gapps?

Do we need to do factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and cache partition for this 1524 if done via CWM?

Edit: all's good, everyone recommends clearing all the above before flashing.

Nola bro, you've been of great help to the thread. However I wasn't able to mount TWRP, so I went with CWM.

I got 1524 installed, then realized that CWM was gone when I tried to go into recovery. Then I tried to re-mount CWM via the guide here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3TQH-zHvwo - couldn't work. Then I used the flashtool baru can mount it.

Weird.

Its gone bcoz u select reboot/restart in cwm...
Do not reboot/restart in cwm... just take out the battery & reinsert again... and on like normal...

Actually right on the contrary I did 'reboot system' and then only it went away. But when I re-installed the 2nd time and then do 'reboot recovery' it reappeared on the next full system bootup.

Anyways it's damn bloody hard to take out the battery for this phone.. it's the major turn off for the phone really.

Yup 1st time reboot will override the recovery... coz to install the rom, recovery must in stock...
Subsequent reboot no override coz the rom aldy installed successfully...

Good la the battery fit hardly... not like the back casing so easy to flip out...

thanks for the guide.. just when i use new TWRP can't install new rom.. got error.. now i just install old twrp you share here and custom rom limechelo.. So far so good.. got whatsapp notification here.. already remove lenovo spyware.. Don't like the feel vibe..more like simple android only..
