The Lenovo K3 Note (also known as A7000+ in Malaysia)..

I have done extensive research and this phone from March 2015 - June 2015 was the best phone I could find among all the others at its price range & specs, not to mention it's a brand that people recognize (not some unknown Chinese/HK start up). Recently, the Meizu M2 Note has taken over with only slightly better specs at a slightly more cheaper price.. or so that's what I had thought until I watched this..

Review:

QUOTE(mikelanding @ Jul 8 2015, 05:58 PM)
Another review praise the K3 note for 1 of the best MTK6752 phone.
Link: http://www.gizchina.com/2015/07/08/lenovo-...52-device-date/

Some high light from this review:
1) It’s outright insane what a good phone Lenovo managed to build there at a price-tag of just $149. It blows away anything MT6752 you have seen to date within the sub $160 range and even some devices priced at much higher levels.

2)  A pro of the 100% plastic approach is the weight. At only 146g the phone is very light for a 5.5-incher, which we are sure many of you will appreciate.

3) One flaw we have to complain about are the touch buttons below the screen. Those don’t feature back-illumination and also don’t offer a reflective coating

4) If you take a look at other reviews you might notice some folks complaining about reduced sharpness and clarity compared to other 1080p displays. Well, we can actually confirm that the screen is a bit less crisp and pixels are more visible than with other 1080p 5.5-inchers. The reason for that is a different pixel structure that Lenovo went for to cut down on cost.

5) The performance (MT6752) reached with this set-up is on-par with Snapdragon 801 devices except for the (theoretical) GPU performance as GPU benchmarks like 3DMark confirm.

6) The internal memory of 16GB isn’t split into several partitions on the Lenovo K3 Note which means that you can use the majority of the phones memory for applications and data. 12GB of memory is what you get available and it can be extended at any time using micro SD cards.

7) The current stable version is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and a developer version based on Android 5.1 is available as well. We can easily say that Lenovo created the best Android 5.0 ROM we’ve seen running on a MT6752 device to date in terms of optimization.

8) This handset actually features the best camera we’ve seen to date on a sub $160 device.

9) The battery life somehow got better and better with each and every charge. Right now we reached the maximum we believe which is one day of battery life with heavy usage but no gaming. The Geekbench battery test certifies a screen-on time of 6:29 hours with automatic brightness and screen-dim disabled. Charging unfortunately takes a bit too long at 4 – 5 hours.

10) Conclusion:
The Leovo K3 Note has been our budget-surprise of the year so far. We didn’t expect any manufacturer to beat the price-performance-ratio companies like Mlais, Ecoo and iOcean established, yet have been proven wrong. The Lenovo K3 Note is miles ahead of devices like the iOcean M6752, Mlais M53 Red Note or Ecoo E04 Aurora in pretty much every aspect. It’s impressive what a huge bunch of specs and features one can offer at such a low price tag of just $149. Despite the missing support for FDD-LTE band 20 the Lenovo K3 Note is an almost perfect phablet and the features that blew us away the most are the camera and audio quality of this phone. We really doubt that any manufacturer will be able to beat the Lenovo K3 Note in short-term and thus really recommend you to have a closer look at this device in case you are looking for a proper mid-range phablet right now.

Wow thanks for reviving the thread with your review. Its a damn good deal if you buy it off the online websites.. But once it launches here officially i think it will be above rm700 considering the a7000 is at rp rm699.

To me in terms of specs this phone is by far the best at its price range.. I dont think there's a better phone but we'll have to wait and see if it still remains once it launches.. Rumors said that it will launch end of this month in India. Hopefully lenovo doesn't hike it up too much with the release of a7000. Maybe that will be their strategy - the k3 note was announced wayyyyy ahead of the a7000.

Btw, post some pics? smile.gif

Also, which site did you buy it from and how long did the shipping take?

My hunch tells me 'yes', it will be released here.

Anyway, I'm now looking at another 6"cher by Lenovo: lenovo note 8 golden warrior A936.

Apart from it's low 245ppi (720p), the phone boasts some really good specs. Low resolution may not be a bad thing as it sucks up less juice, and plus side to that is that the battery capacity is 3,300mah.

I might get this one as I feel that a 5.5"cher is not big enough for me; I have big palms.

I'm starting another thread on that phone: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3586488

This video review just further proves just how good the Lenovo K3 Note really is at its price point:

I'm surprised they have not brought it in yet. Other similar devices like Honor 4X pales in comparison.

Seems like this phone is slowly gaining popularity smile.gif

I think what distributors like DirectD do is that they root the phone and install it with English supported VibeUI + install Google Playstore as the phone is only tailored for the Chinese market as of now. Then they give you their own warranty: 3 months for parts (excluding accessories) + 2 years for firmware. Got to check with #SiteScope if the official Lenovo warranty card is there instead of the distributor's.

Also, make sure you buy the phone from the shop itself yeah and test before you pay. Lenovo Golden Warrior Note 8 (A936) got GPS problem for units sold in DirectD (staff told me), but when I asked other distributors they say no problem.

On 4G dual sim, some websites have stated that it's 4G+4G. Though #sitescope said otherwise for his set..

#SFOD-D #hellstrider

Please post pics of (not from) the phone! Would be good if you can also give some comment/short review about it.

Just looking for a 'once and for all clarification'.

These China phones that can be bought from distributors:

1. are they usually flashed to English ROMs by the distributors? Or were they using stock China ROMs but distributors set to English language?

2. if they were flashed to English ROMs by distributors, will the OS be able to pull these updates from Lenovo database itself? I guess OTA is 'over the air' updates? Were there any indication that the phones had been flashed?

3. If you flash to an original/official Lenovo OS on your own, will it get updates? I read that people usually flash on their own because of Chinese bloat wares.

4. I've checked that warranty is usually 3-months for parts ie. touch screen . Are there any stores that offer 1 full year warranty on parts, just like how an official Lenovo store does for its customers?

Go for K3 note man. It's definitely more superior

But the higher screen resolution will take up more juice than Honor 4X though

I think this is an AP issue… Maybe lenovo china dun wanna sell it outside china…
That's why they disabled led notification for wasap…
Also removed intl no in contact so only china no can be recognized…
Also removed play store…

Should be no issue with Msia ori set, otherwise no one will buy it…
Now AP sell at rm565… So fast drop…

BTW,  got few custom roms available in lenovo rusia site…
Aldy dloaded but got no time to try…

Good review. Yet again this phone is proven to be the best in its price range. No idea why Lenovo still hasn't brought this to Malaysian shores yet. This phone would really own all in its price range.

Don't quite understand why Lenovo would delay its release when it can pwn Meizu M1 Note and Honor 4X for its price and specs.. coincidentally its coming out at the same time as Redmi Note 2.. coincidence? I think not.
