Good phone for its price. You can refer my blog where I put up an unbiased review
No serious noticeable lag
I don't n never believe in using any form of SP on my phones ....in past 9 years using so many types I had hardly even a hairline scratch on them. I take good care of my gadgets. I had even proven in front of my friends n posted in youtube attempting to scratch a Note2 by dragging scissors, keys, blade across display n it came out intact. Infact you can find plenty such videos on youtube. Only material harder than glass eg sand n diamond will scratch display n chances of such hitting my phone is zero.

Have read your blog, nice reviews

One thing i noticed about the Lenovo A7000+ is that the battery life can be really poor (stock ROM, not sure bout other ROMs).

An example, i typically get around 4 hrs screen time from 100% to 10% before i have to charge it.

When not in use/standby at night, in 8hrs it can drain 6~8% battery.

This is quite scary! Any tips from the users here on how this can be improved without changing the ROM? Thanks!

Try to calibrate your phone - drain the battery in standby until phone shutoff by itself, then charge battery till full with phone off, unplug and turn on when done. i manage to get 5 hours SOT after calibration, before can never get more than 3.5 hour.

I think you get 5 hours sot is because you use a lot of WiFi for data instead of Mobile data, by using only mobile data, you'd normally get around 4 - 4.5 hours of sot depending on your screen brightness, whether you stream a lot or not and etc etc...

Agree.....this phone really save battery when using wifi, data also ok la if compare with other phone. I only can get 3.5/4 hours SOT [wifi] and 2.5/3 hours [Data] with heavy gaming.

When battery power drop to 25%, every 10% shoud allowed you to use for about ±40 minutes (SOT); that means from 25% to 5% you can use for about 1hour 20minutes (SOT) continuously. If 10% exhausted within few minutes (about 10 minutes), then you need to calibrate your phone. Under same condition of use, i can never get more than 3.5 hours sot before calibration.

This is my screen brightness. GPS, WiFi and Data on at all times.

Thanks for sharing all th einfo about the battery use. Really informative. Curiously, i managed to get better battery life and SOT with Data ON and Wifi OFF. Weird right?

With data on and wifi off, i get ~4.5 hrs SOT

With wifi on and data off, i got just slightly less than 4 hrs typically.
