Hi, guys! new proud owner of K3 note here smile.gif

does anyone provide service for rooting and installing custom rom? I'm willing to pay for such service (pls don't be so expensive la, just become RM600++ poorer) because I've never do it before so it's very confusing and I'm too scared of bricking it. Plus I don't have adequate PC to perform the rooting. And I'm not sure what rom to install... very very blur

Pls help me sifus!! thank you

good reading here....

Yeah I heard about the rooting without PC too, it seems easy enough, using rootking or I-root. So if I use this method to root, can I just install/flash any custom rom that are available? Or is the method of rooting depends on what custom ROM you want?

ERM... The rootking or I-root that I saw on YouTube works just like an app. Just put it on the phone, install it and run it and straight away flash custom ROMs. Not like the article explained.

After 3 days of uninstalling and installing lenovo driver just to get the stupid USB ADB to work, finally I manage to get my k3 note to flash to S112_ROW. Took me almost an hour to update it to S117_ROW with my slow internet. But it was worth it to get rid of the stupid Chinese ROM that was preinstalled by the seller (which is ladden with uninstallable bloatwares and tons of feature absent). Noticing the increase of battery life and low temperature when using the feature power manager (because who needs a full throttled phone for just social app and browsing anyway?) And really happy with the phone's performance now. biggrin.gif

Immediately flash it to replace the Chinese ROM that are installed by the seller, it's loaded with bloatwares and lost a lot of its features.

I have the WiFi and WiFi hotspot problem after the S117 update. After shutting it down and turning it on again (not restart) the WiFi work again for me. Maybe it's just a temporary fix but for now I still have any problem with it

now that i hv a new problem. i updated my unit to s114, then i don't get any further update to s117.
*
Same shit happened to me bro, the freaking USB driver, took me three days for it to work and I don't even know what made it work in the end..

I might wait a bit and not update to S117 yet, the charge time is so damn long and some problem with the WiFi... Or maybe it's only me experiencing it?

*I've check the comments on GSM and apparently there is a problem with the S117 update and Lenovo since have removed it so let's wait for a fix, hopefully soon because the charging time is killing my enjoyment of the phone

how long u charge ur k3 note? mine one need 2 hours 50 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%.i using s117, is that normal? blink.gif
*
Three hours to charge from 5% to 100% is a blessing compared to my situation man... Mine took over 5 hours to charge from 15% to 100% at worst case scenario .. Sometime it let me charge fast... Sot sot LA I think the S117 update. The charging time wasn't that bad using the Chinese ROM last time

This is a curse when I need to charge my phone at least twice a day... It wouldn't be a big problem if it can last a full day for a heavy user like me.haha

Charging time ROW rom is much more better than China rom. Normaly it take about 2-3 hours to fully charged on s117.
I already flashed 5pcs K3N and updated s117. Charging all normal. 2-3 hours.
*
I'm not even kidding.. The charging time is haywire on S117... You're lucky you don't have this problem
FYI I have 40++% battery left during this test

I seriously implore those who haven't update to S117 to wait for the official update from Lenovo India. There's a reason why they pull it off the update system. Now I'm having problem with the WiFi and charging. I have to shut the phone down and pull out the battery whenever the Wi-Fi decided not to work. Even *#*# technique to "fix" the problem doesn't work.

Please do a factory reset, most probably that will solve the problem.

I have no WiFi and charging issue at all.

Just did a factory reset... WiFi and WiFi hotspot still have problem.

hi all
to those having problem with wifi, i've found a solution. all info and wording below is copied fr lenovo forum.
all credits goes to them...
I just find a permanent solution for the wifi problem happened after 296MB OTA update to lenovo K3 Note.
To solve it. Just follow these steps:-
Go to engineering mode my dialing:- *#*#3646633#*#*
Now go to connectivity tab and tap on WiFi.
Now mark the option.
1.) WFA test UI
2.) WPS test mode
Now exit from engineering mode and check. Wifi will work smoothly.!

Did it already.. Still the same problem.. Guess have to wait for update

Since it's basically a sibling to A7000, I'm wondering if the battery they are using the same? Should be easy to get that locally.. Too bad that it'll be hard to find high capacity battery for Lenovo like those that Zerolemon makes

I saw many comment about the heating issue of this phone,

anyone here have this issue?
*
I played GTA San Andreas on mid settings, set resolution to 72% and turned on the screen and GPU saver on power management ( which cuts down performance by 25% ) for an hour. The gameplay is smooth ( slight dipping in framerate when lots of car and mayhem on screen but not so bad that it's unplayable ) and heating is noticeable but not so bad.

Gotta note that sometimes the touch screen can be sort of unresponsive when typing, I have to turn the screen off and on again for it to work properly. Maybe it's a firmware problem so I'm not so sure. Charging is slow and WiFi connection problem also occur to my unit ( check it on gsmarena and quite a lot of people having the same problem after updating the OS - Lenovo removed the update and is working to fix it ) - But bros here say that they don't have the problem after updating it.

This phone may look like it's a high spec phone but really treat it as above average mid-ranged phone when you're gaming on it. It is on mid-ranged phone's price to begin with

did anyone notice any difference between switching on or off the screen n gpu power saver?
*
I've noticed that it reduces quite a significant of battery drain. Without it switched on, playing half an hour YouTube content drains around 10% whereas by switching it on, it drains around 5 to 6% (using data not WiFi, screen brightness is set on auto, Dolby atmos on, loud speaker set to around 70%, battery saver on) performance wise I don't feel any differences. It plays GTA San Andreas on mid setting smoothly.

Also it won't heat up as much.

I watch YouTube a lot so I get a sense of how much the battery drains.
