Hi guys, can your Mi Box play YI 4K+ Action Camera video smoothly? If can, name the model down. TQ

If no, newer Mi Box should come out soon. wink.gif

Dont think it's possible, maybe can try to look for custom firmware elsewhere.

Video seems to play fine on my 1080p TV but not as smooth as I would've liked.

Audio cut out every 3-4 secs.

Mibox International Edition with Android TV 6.0 OS. Playback with MXPlayer Pro.

Yes Iflix works on the international mi box.
Download an app called 'HAL Launcher' for apps that don't show up in main screen of Android TV (leanback launcher). Android TV playstore has it. I use that to access Chrome browser, Iflix, Astro On The Go, Getflix (smart dns), and Mobdro. I download the apk from apkpure.com. If the apps show weirdly on its side, go into HAL launcher settings and force it to show horizontal.

thanks for the tips as this helps with a lot of apps that still does not support android TV. However, because the mi box support casting, a lot of apps still works eventhough you need to use an android phone to control. This is the reason why I got the mi box.

So anyone have any suggestions for APKs to download to watch korean/china tv series? I know can add some through KODI but I prefer if there are some native apps to do it.

And do you guys use usb thumbdrive? Cause the default storage is so limited. If yes, how do you direct the apps to be installed in the usb?

I connect the single USB port behind the mibox to a 3 port USB hub that has a built in microSD card slot.

First I insert a 32GB microSD card in the card slot and adopt it as the extension to the very limited onboard storage.

Then I go to settings / apps and select the app I want to move and there is an option there for storage - I change from internal to USB.

The normal USB ports of my hub are connected to a thumb drive (exfat) and an external hard drive (ntfs) which contain movies and other videos. I use MXPlayer Pro to play these local media files.

I also have Plex app installed on the Mibox to stream videos from my Plex server (Windows 10 PC) and my WD NAS storages.

Just updated my Mibox Android TV (International) via OTA 500+MB patch. Same Android TV 6.0.1 but security patch dated Oct 2016 and changelog mentioning Netflix fixes etc.

I see. So far so good for me - i keep all my apps like Plex, Netflix, Al-Jazeera on the internal storage (3.8GB free from total of 5.1GB).

My 20 games are on the microSD card inside my USB hub cum card reader.

For those who wonder how different the packaging for the Mi Box with Android TV 6.0 is between the one released in the USA and from China. They both have the same model number mdz-16-ab. Functionality is the same, If the US version gets updated, so does the international version. And no, your regular mi box China interface cannot be converted to run Android TV. The international version also has playstore by default. If unsure, always check if the seller states that it runs ANDROID TV. There's a difference between android TV the operating system and Android box which most lesser known companies are offering.

For the photos below, the orange box is the unit sold in the US while the unit I received from China via AliExpress is in the plain brown box. Cheers

I just installed hal launcher and it is working. Able to force horizontal on some of the chinese apps. However, I cannot control the apps using the TV remote. I think maybe need to get an android remote keyboard/mouse device. Can I know how do you control yours?

I got mine from Lelong, but this seller at Lazada also sells it at a lower price and no overseas shipping waiting period.
