Hi guys,I just bought a Mi Box S last week. I have TIME broadband at home with the given TP Link router. It seems like I'm having issues connecting my Mi Box S to my router. Tried both 2.4Ghz and 5GHz able to detect and connect, however it shows "no internet". The rest of the devices at home able to connect and browse internet without any issues. I tried set all my wireless router settings to auto but it doesn't help either. If i were to disable the wifi encryption then it works. Another thing that I noticed is that, if it shows connected no internet, I have to manually go Mi Box S setting change to the correct date and time, then it works, but I have to do it everytime when i power on the Mi Box S which is very troublesome. Can anyone please shed some light on my issues?

For some reason DHCP has problems with some routers. Once you do the static, internet will be rock solid and won’t drop ever. Try it. This post has been edited by aceedburn: Sep 18 2020, 01:15 PM

Don’t mention bro. Mine is also TP-Link router. Maybe some compatibility issue with DHCP with mi box. Anyway glad it’s sorted. Enjoy!

plan to buy mi box s this weekend, before i buy i want to ask couple of questions.
1. after i buy the box, what should i do? just plug and enjoy? 2. if i had to install something (apps, etc) at mi box, is it difficult? 3. and after i installed the "apps", does the warranty void? 4. i already read at the 1st page, but that was long ago, 2015. 5. should i buy the mi box at authorized dealers (local stores @aeon) or just buy at shopee?
hope sifus about mi box s can clarify me. thanks a ton!

Update the Mi Box if prompt new update available. Normally will have one as out of the box is not latest version.2. if i had to install something (apps, etc) at mi box, is it difficult? Nope unless you want side load none Android TV apps which need mouse to operate and not the remote control, also need side load launcher because it is not design for Android TV OS. Side load standard Android apps won't appear at the main screen as Android TV OS is different than normal Android OS you seen in mobile phone.3. and after i installed the "apps", does the warranty void? Nope.4. i already read at the 1st page, but that was long ago, 2015. Ignore it. 5. should i buy the mi box at authorized dealers (local stores @aeon) or just buy at shopee? If you worried get China version, better buy at Mi Store retailer shop.hope sifus about mi box s can clarify me. thanks a ton! Answer in blue. Any recommended seller for buying Mi Box S with pre-installed tv channels? I am looking one for my parents so having the live tv channels are important for me. Also, it should really work seamlessly as I can't be at home to help them debug if there's any issue with the live channels.
Thanks in advance!!

Looking some similar solution too for my parents, came scross StarBox ITV at Rm480 perbox with 2 year warranty, not sure if it is worth it? Claim to be seamless with all apps preinstalled and support helpline, many new movies like Mulan too so looks like can possibly cancel netflix subscription..

These sort of services are 100% from illegal sources. You can use it at your own risk, remember, you are breaking the law and you should understand that. Also, if their service go kaput, you won't get your money back.

Forget about all these illegal providers and sources. They screw up your system and have hacking tools built in to them to take advantage of your system. Only use whatever apps that are available in the play store.
