mibox S here...

i read on reddit forums that some users facing wifi connected but no internet issue...now i face the same

so i changed the date/time to manual and it worked...but changed back to auto, same issue reappears...

any way to permanently fix this issue ?

factory reset ?
update to latest android 9 ?

Why not just update to latest android 9 that fixed some bugs?

read from expert experience that by updating to latest firmware without factory reset would potentially messed up the tvbox...

and if i do that, i need to re-install all the apks which i am lazy to do haha...

so for now...i am just keeping the manual time & date

Which expert experience is this? I have 5 mi box s units. All updated to latest version and I don’t have any problems whatsoever. All mine are official Malaysia units. If you buy China units then maybe the problems you mentioned will be there.

Yes no factory reset. All running smoothly. In fact it’s running much better than before upgrading. Everything seems faster, no lag and full hdr from Netflix.

i guess some users experienced issues after upgrading to android 9 without factory reset as per their feedback on FB tvbox forum

I don't have such issue, updated everything went smooth & faster without factory reset.

If need factory reset after updated, I don't mind to reinstall & reconfigure it (one time troublesome only) rather than suffer the internet connection issue for long term. It's your choice.

just bought mi box s..why is 5.1 audio not available in netflix app?

i saw in youtube a few users had the option in their netflix app..but whenever i play anything the 5.1 audio channel not listed

My netflix got 5.1. Maybe you can check at sound settings. use spdif or auto. if PCM, 5.1 is not available.

Anyone has issue for Mibox S buying from Lazada or Shopee?

I contact Xiaomi TV Box thru FB directly, the quote is Mibox 4 RM 580 and Tmall M18(pro) is RM 499 and installed few hundred channels with auto installed everyday.

I intend to get one from Lazada, at just RM 265 but not sure what is the difference.

Besides using KODI to watch live TV, you can also install TVirl from Google Playstore TV and insert the playlist and epg url there.

TVirl will integrate with Google Live Channel apps pre-installed in MiBox S and you can use the 'Live' button on the remote to watch live TV.

The downside is you need to reload the playlist/epg every 3/4 days so that it will get the latest epg guide for you. The auto-reload function in TVirl is a paid function. If you malas to manually reload you can pay for the function. Me i just reload every 3 or 4 days. not a big deal
