Just wondering, I've got about 1k+ to spend extra to spend this month for upgrades. Should I get the GPU first or CPU+MOBO+Ram first ?Â
I'm more inclined to get the GPU first because while I may not gain much fps wise upgrading from R7 260X to RX 480 (or R9 380X) at least the game will look much prettier.Â
On the other hand, getting i3-6100 and mobo plus RAM leaves me bit extra for an SSD which may help a bit in load time etc.
Anyway, I've read somewhere that you wont have much gain from i5 compared to i3 using dx12 (at least for Warhammer) especially if you're using mid rage GPU or less.
That said, I'm only looking for a stable min 30 fps. More than that is a bonus.
how much is the R9 380X price now, still about 1k?

if still 1k might as well get the Zotac 970 dual fan RM1029/1099 for AMP! EXtreme Core that was on promo, dunno still got stock onot. used 970 should be less than 1k after 1060/480 fully available.
the 970 will still do playable FPS in DX12, if not still can use dx11. its raw performance should be enough for >30FPS at Ultra 1080p.
just the benchmark on dx12 beta:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIRrkIlSCTM avg 60fps, Ultra FXAA benchmark with some options like DoF off.
it will do better with i7 as
TW:W is cpu dependant on core clock freq, number of cores, even HT helps.
i3-6100 should be roughly around the AMD FX 8350, with i3 better on single core perf.

http://www.techspot.com/review/1087-best-v...-cpu/page4.htmli would personally wait for the custom card perf of RX480/1060 for DX12 but since most games still have dx11 option to fall back to it's not a big deal. and since the price exceed 1k budget, 970 would be the better bet.
or you could upgrade your cpu/mobo/ram but it doesnt get you much better FPS. i3 is ok if on a tight budget, and if you're gonna upgrade to i7 down the road. i think can save quite a bit if can find used skylake i3, RAM/SSD.
