Is there any Tuya Zigbee smart lock available out there? Tried going through shopee and lazada and seems like the only easily available Zigbee smart lock is from Aqara...

Got a few on lazada oversea shops, not sure about local ones

does anyone here using Sonoff TX T3UK
with the board printed T1 UK Touch V1.0 2018.10.17

im trying to flash tasmota and facing few challenges...
1. This board required additional connection to R19, in order to bring it to flash mode. stucked for few hours here, need to google alot.
when i saw the wifi light no longer blinking im so happy.

2. My PL2303HXA driver installed by default. i tot it was okay.
then i saw the driver written by win11 outdated.
another challange here to identify this problem.
need to downgrade the driver in order for it to work.

3. finally my tasmatizer showing uploading box.
then another issue, it cant connect... f*** f*** f***
i tried to changed the port settings, parity, etc etc, none of it works.
im still stuck here... have to gv up for now, too tired and sleepy.

praying someone here have solutions for me by the time i woke up. 🙏🏻

Same board from here?

https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/issues/5...mment-502338384

Already soldered/contact pin from R19 to gnd?
Did you use different power supply for VCC other than the UART (not really necessary but just in case)

I think you can still use sonoff ota to flash for 2018 board
https://github.com/mirko/SonOTA

But it probably won’t work if you already updated to latest ewelink firmware

1. not the same board, in the pic that is EU board.
but the board's R19 is in the same position, the same spot where I did the bridging.
this UK board is the same https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/issues/5...mment-524514857

2. I did the contact to R19 for 2 to 10seconds, didn't solder.

3. didnt use different power supply, but I tried swapping the USB port on my notebook.
ohh I used breadboard to split the grd, so that I can bridge the R19

4. gonna try SonOTA, coz I have few old units which I bought in 2019. 👍🏻

Just to clarify, I did managed to bring the board to flashmode. from the indicator my wifi led no longer blink.
but unable to flash, coz tasmotizer or other flashing apps could not be connect to the board.
that why I play around with the PL2303 port settings.

and I downloaded the version checker released by the PL company, it able to get the chipset model and version.
because of this I temporary believe this PL2303 is working fine.
if still failed, then I might want change to other serial adapter module.
*
Odd, if you can get it to flashing mode it should just work.
Can still get flash id using esptool?
esptool.py --port COM5 flash_id

i try this post, see if mine swapped from rx to tx will work or not.
walau ehh, its really worked. wtf bbq
im confused, i go double confirmed the seller page and check the wire color code. it written correctly.

or is it how u guyz connext rx-tx tx-rx? 😵‍💫

---

so far managed to flash 2 units, and i found the wifi is abit weird.
it very hard to connect to my 2.4G.
the connection connect then disconnect and in the loop.
*
Thats usually how it is unless it’s mislabled on the board or something

For the wifi, have you tried just bringing it closer to the router if it still disconnect?
Otherwise try install esphome and put disable power saving on the wifi in the yaml file

ok will play around with the wifi power, but today i must finish flash all the AP first

many thanx for the tips

I’ve got wifi mesh around the house but these 1-2 tasmota switches keep randomly disconnect even on latest version.
Installed esphome and the connection has been stable since then.

Is there a way to infer that a power outage has occured without using smart whatever at the fusebox?

i.e. just by condition of smart wall switches and sockets.
because if there is sudden outage, i assume the switches will have no time to report itself. then it's up to the management server to report of it being offline 30minutes later.

fibre and mesh is UPS-backed, so network uptime to an 1hr is possible, though not tested to max.
*
I think you could connect something like sonoff basic device with power monitoring that’s wired to ups.
If it goes unavailable, then sends an alert that power trip occurred

im scared rite now...
i flashed all my 1 gang and 2 gang switch, almost 90% have difficulty connection to wifi.
it will connect, but sometime it on boot looping...

since i decided to venture into more adventurous route, i decided to close 1eye and hopefully it was my wifi issue.

then i started to flash 4units of my 3gangs, 1 of it is an old unit.
and the result is there are 3units having Ghost Switching issues.

this time, i really started to sweat and doubt about tasmota.
I have put on hold flashing for the rest of my units until i found the solutions.

---
abit of info here, hopefully someone here able to shine some light on the issue.
I use this template for my Sonoff TX T3UKC3
https://templates.blakadder.com/sonoff_T1_uk_3.html
{"NAME":"Sonoff T1 3CH","GPIO":[17,255,255,255,23,22,18,19,21,56,0,0,0],"FLAG":0,"BASE":30}
Result... It wont boot, weird~

Then i choose the EU version
https://templates.blakadder.com/sonoff_TX-T3EU3C.html
{"NAME":"TX T3EU3C","GPIO":[17,255,0,255,23,22,18,19,21,158,0,0,0],"FLAG":0,"BASE":30}
Result, ghost switching issue.

The template for 1Gang and 2Gang having the same parameter for both UK and EU variants.
but there are slight different for the 3Gang, im wondering is this the issue
*
Ghost switching how?
turns on relay by itself or something

yup, the switch will on or off by itself.
i read the issue is with MQTT misconfiguration, but i ady switch off the MQTT.
the issue remained.
*
Interesting, try switch to esphome since no need for mqtt

thanx...
it seem lilke the esphome is alternative of tasmota.

few question about esphome.
can it work without HA?
how HA communicate with the esphome? via http?
is there any timer or inching available?

---
as for the wifi issue. Im glad im not the only one having this issue~
https://github.com/arendst/Tasmota/issues/7770

there might be few issue with the esp compatibility issue with the asus router.
1. ARP table -> im using IP binding... will try to disable it
2. Wireless-N with WMM -> will try to set b/g only wifi. or wireless-n without wmm
3. Wireless AX -> i originally aldy disabled this for my 2.4G wifi
4. Lower the power of the wifi -> 17 to 8.5 (not sure where to set this)
*
Yes, it can work without ha
There’s esphome api, after you flashed it, it shows up in the integration automatically and just have to add it
Pretty much can do anything tasmota does, just involves some yaml so need to check some examples first
Only difference is it doesn’t have built in ‘group’ feature like tasmota (still works even when HA is down) ie group your switch & lights together, or make 2 way functions

actually from your experiences, does esphome better than tasmota?
i still got time to decide before fully commited to tasmota~
*
Don’t see much difference other than have to deal with yaml files
There’s also libretuya, esphome fork that can be flashed on tuya chips (non esp)

You can always go back and forth between tasmota or esphome via ota method. Just need to upload minimal firmware first then drop the esphome bin file.

Oh thats weird. My Maxis Wifi6 router is configured stock, never touched it since they installed it. But when i clicked on manage home wifi it just says “We are not able to test your Wifi at the moment, Click contact us for assistance (mma).” Im guessing remote access is not available to me ?

Thats good that you have an LTE connected router, that you can reboot the Maxis one. I cant.. cos if i turn off the smart switch which is connected to a router, theres no way to turn it back on. However, i’ve read on reddit that there are some smart plugs that can turn on after being turned off.

I think it can also be done on HA, but i’m on homebridge and Homekit.. HA is abit too complicated for me.
*
It's doable with esphome or tasmota firmware.
Setup a rule that turns relay back on after relay off after a few minutes
I'm using one to automate charging based on the power consumption.
Get switch like sonoff s26 cause it’s easier to open up this one compared to compact design

user posted image

Technically you can still open those up but you’ll need to heat it up and slowly pry open the case with knife

Then pair up with your homebridge and good to go

Is there any place I should add wall socket or anything for renovation? (double storey terrance)
so far my plan:-
-wall socket on stairs, for mesh if needed
-wall socket near curtain for smart curtain
-wall socket at car porch for cctv
*
I think that pretty much covers it
Also, if you plan to add extra native 2 way wiring, request to add another ‘standby wire’ which you can loop to live if you plan to grab one of these wifi/zigbee module behind switches

Hey Bro,

Thanks for the reply. I’d really love to be able to tinker again.. but life with kids.. really got no time to play around with gadgets anymore. Thats why i prefer homebridge. Home assistant is a rabbit hole that really goes deep.

Even in my homebridge setup, i’ve steered away from Zigbee2MQTT and node red. No time to research, understand and trial and error. The house gotta be always functioning.. Else later home minister complain.. haha

But so far for my house i’ve gone offical Homekit (Aqara/Zemismart+Tuya+Dohome) + Homebridge (Xiaomi/ewelink/dummy switches/network presence/delay switches/contact left open/ffmpeg for cameras). Managed to get 60% done so far. Still thinking of how to get a smart plug that can power back on without tinkering with ESP/TASMOTA/Portisch.
*
Ah yes, the family matters and wife approval
You could always just grab athom plugs that’s preflashed with tasmota. Just need to enable that setting later

Oh no~ dun have Haier aircond in the list.
Whats radar sensor?
So whenever I buy smart gadget, have to check whether can link with Zigbee n home assistant rite? wad else? google assistant?
*
No worries, not that many in that list anyway
You can just use tuya ir remote to control it
Slightly advance way is placing this rm15 esp remote to your ac, advantage is it can detect if someone’s using the remote so you’ll always get correct status of the ac

It’s using radar instead of motion
So you don’t have to keep moving/waving your hand at the sensor if you need to keep the lights on
Oh yeah, you might need to add wall socket in your bathroom since need to plug in the radar sensors

All smart devices out there already have alexa, google assistant integration. Just the apps to link & manage those device differs
You can just tuya first, homeassistant later since some learning curve needed

This is intro to homeassistant by someone who’s been avoiding it but eventually caved it haha

Home assistant - smart home hub
Google assistant - voice assistant
You can link voice assistant to your smart home hub
Example, you use tuya app, their cloud server already linked to google asssistant

Hi Bro

Thats an interesting plug thats pre-flashed. But.. since i dont have time to install HA (and learn it) into my Raspberry Pi via docker, would it work with homebridge? As in is there a plugin in homebridge that supports it ? Cos.. i try to avoid HA, Z2MQTT or anything at the moment.. haha
*
There’s a homebridge plugin, you can try it out

Hi need some advice and suggestion, sorry I didn't have time to browse through 500+ pages, went through 20 and couldn't find my answer lol

I have a simple smart home set up all using aqara and xiaomi into one app and for my auto gate it's using tuya smart.

I have porch lights and side porch lights that needs to have timer since I on it throughout the night. Thing is aqara smart switch is damn expensive 100+ per switch 3 gang and got chance will spoil also. So I'm considering those cheap non-zigbee smart switch for my porch and side lights and maybe even the gate globe lights. Can someone recommend me something that fits inside the switch box or small enough to fit inside the light housing so it's not visible?

Thank you

Ps: hacked apk for mihome exist that allows many devices locked to mainland China region to work in Malaysia/Singapore server region. This allowed me to use China cheaper aqara/xiaomi devices with global ones without changing region all in one app. Problem is I can't add tuya inside since it's global
*
For 1 gang here

For >2 gang i got it from Taobao, can’t find any selling here at decent price

It’s slim enough to fit behind switch

@anyone,

with reference picture.

i have a lot of these switch pairs inside my home.
which i have already ascertained that each multi-gang switches and each 20A switches are connected to different circuit breakers. so in the reference picture alone, there are 2 breakers involved.
all the multi-gang switches does not have their own neutral. only 20A switches do.
(all 20A switches have their own not-shared exclusive breaker, for avoidance of doubt.)

question:
is it possible for me to buy multi-gang tuya wifi SMART switches WITH its neutral line connected to the 20A's neutral line instead?

Try this one, the shop replaced with tuya chip this time

For tasmota, you’ll need to use serial method. The sa-018 can use diy mode to flash via ota

1/2/3 are common. 4 are mostly wifi.
if possible i want a rocker-type switch which will be intuitive enough, but most on the market for 4-gang are wifi +glass touch.
*
QUOTE(epicure @ Oct 27 2022, 02:01 PM)
Exactly, i dont want the touch switches and i dont want anything thats not zigbee. There arent any zigbee 4 gangs out there yet. If i understand, you want the rocker style switches that are toggles right? It doesnt rock up and down like a conventional switch.

Yeah, still looking, waiting for TUYA or Aqara to make some of those.

Here

Use consolidate service to ship
I think you can request for custom plates also (some extra charges there probably)
