The equipments r not much of heat, i even tested with thermometer. Haha. I switched off the cooling fan coz it is noisy n affect echo dot. |

QUOTE(ozak @ Jan 23 2018, 12:31 PM) You have 2 set of DB box with separate RCCD. Small size house, one DB box. Single phase kut. Im not pro, just know some basic from google. The circuit not typical condo design? RCCB for ceiling lighting seperate from RCCB for wall socket, heater & airvon? The 3phase of R1,2,Y1,2and B1,2 is share 1 neutral. While R3,4,5,6...etc share 1neutral. But subject to the neutral is connect to the RCCD. Normally you will see the RCCD have 4 connection on it. 3P and neutral. As long as your R1 connection doesn't go over to R3,4,5,6 neutral side, it won't be trip. |

QUOTE(Kiding @ Jan 26 2018, 08:30 PM) No, I use Aqara zigbee switch with neutral line, I don't know how the AC/DC conversion circuit in the smart switch without neutral line to complete the circuit, but I heard this kind of smart switch without neutral wire is not reliable, and I had a non working broadlink TC2 switch which doesn't require neutral wire only last less than a year. Broadlink only good for its universal RF IR controller broadlink RM pro. Its TC2 wont last long. I have two failed TC2. Its other system S1 / alarm system also useless, avoid it. 😂 My other RF switch chuguan, still working good, better quality. Mi is value for money. Im using mi also & i like it. |

QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 26 2018, 10:22 PM) So, you pull N wire to each switch? It is a lot of work unless new house during renovation Ya, u get the idea d. This kina no neutral line switch wont work with small wattage lights & some LED strip. I tried it on my LED strip in L box, it flickering when turn onI've been thinking about how this work and I think I know. The switch require very small current to work. So, when installing the switch, it is already like you switch on the light but the current is so small that the bulb flow very low current in it. However, it is so low that the bulb looks as it is OFF. This is why the switch with no N wire have min and maximum wattage for the load to operate properly. |

QUOTE(mixologist84 @ Feb 13 2018, 05:14 PM) hi guys, i comw with more noob question. Beside this switch is aircon switch? May try to get neutral line from there. But there is chance that ur RCCB trip. If u hv electrical wiring diagram of your house, we can take a look n c will your RCCB trip if u tap neutral wire from aircon switchi want to control wall switches and this is my current powerpoint, my neighbours tells me that my condo units uses 3 phase (im not sure whats the difference). so this is how it looks like, am i able to use sonoff t1 here? if can, where shold these wires connect? or if i use sonoff basic (plan to remove the casing and stuff the board in the wall hole) how should the wiring work? For aqara, other than gearbest during promotion, can try 11street & shopee. U can find it as cheap as taobao price sometimes.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Mar 16 2018, 07:57 PM) So I tried switching to ihca app for broadlink bean but i notice always get timeout. I use HA, hassio to send out script in squence & delay time in between sequence. Will share part of the configuration.yaml once im at home.Like if i set scene to turn on tv/astro/ht at once, one/two of them doesn't respond. Same goes with tuning tv channel by scene (channel 423 for example). One of the digits doesn't get sent to astro, ending up like 23- instead. What about you guys? It turn on TV & my hypptv box (until it enter channel) The last command “exit” for hypptv to remove the lower row of menu is cacat abit & need to delay further. My timing to deliver exit button RF package is slightly faster d This post has been edited by luvox: Mar 16 2018, 09:32 PM |

QUOTE(mixologist84 @ Apr 26 2018, 02:19 AM) Guys How do i configure the HA ios app? Im not sure how to get the url and password. Been using the web interface since i got started recently - hassio.local https://www.home-assistant.io/addons/duckdns/Hassio is easier to setup. Look for duckdns at the hassio addon Register duckdns url & replace the token & url at hassio duckdns addon with your duckdns details Need to portforward your router 8123->8128, 443->8123 (for SSL security) Ur url will be https://username.duckdns.org:8123 https://community.home-assistant.io/t/cant-...-hassio/25498/9 |

QUOTE(Snoy @ May 31 2018, 10:13 AM) Senzo one will work. Learn to setup home assistant & u can control ur smarthome under one app, home assistant phone app.Another link: https://www.lazada.com.my/products/senzo-x-...2OgzWM&search=1 However, I'll prefer to opt for a solution from reputable brand which can be integrated as one smart home solution. Just don't prefer many apps controlling different things in my phone. For my criteria, smart devices should be within certain ecosystem (IFTTT, Mi Home, SmartThings, etc) Your links about the Aqara and Sesoos switch may not work because they are "momentary" switch for buttons but may not emit momentary signal. I'm not 100% sure as I don't own them but that's what I understand from their applications. |

QUOTE(kokwei @ Aug 3 2018, 07:07 PM) Hello people! It is great to find such a community of Smart Home Automation enthusiasts in Malaysia. Other brand RF switch, like chuguan, can pair with another battery powered switch pad to stick on wall. Let me introduce the setup I have at home: 1) 3 storey link house 2) 5x Alexa Echo Dots 3) 5x Broadlink RM Mini 3 in all rooms for IR-based appliance controls 4) 1x Broadlink RM Pro+ in dining area at the ground floor 5) 1x Broadlink TC2 3-gang wall switch, integrated to (4) 6) Raspberry Pi with HA installed + Haaska Alexa Skill for the discovery of broadlink remote devices exposed by all the RM Mini 3s and RM Pro+ I have managed to get Alexa to trigger the TC2 switches nicely through HA without depending on the Broadlink servers which is cool. However, in my next iteration of the smart home automation project I need to replace several spots of light switches which are 2-way in nature. FYI, my definition of 2-way means the same light being controlled by 2 different switches. The diagram below illustrates this: ![]() I've been Google'ing for a while and I could not find 2-way TC2 switches. I then dropped the Broadlink Malaysia a message to check if they have a solution for 2-way switches. I received the following: ![]() Apparently, this wireless eTouch switch is able to pair with another wired eTouch switch (imagine the wired eTouch switch is one of my existing TC2 switch that does not support 2-way). I however, had confirmed that these do not work with the TC2. I would like to seek for the advice and opinions of all the sifus here. What is a typical solution for 2-way switches? I already replace all my TC2 with aqara wall switch n i can stick addition battery powered aqara switch pad on any place. Alternative to my aqara battery switch pad is magic cube This post has been edited by luvox: Aug 3 2018, 10:59 PM |

QUOTE(kokwei @ Aug 12 2018, 09:35 AM) I am exploring the same solution. Ya. Aqara only hv two gang. What u can do is cut another wall switch box or do like me by pass one of the electric point to keep that curcuit turn on 24/7 & i put sonoff basic at the ceiling point to control that bypassed circuit. Because that bypassed point is not important, i only need automation with xiaomi motion censor to turn on my condo doorway light. Another bypassed circuit is L-box cove light LED strip that im ok only to use voice control to turn it on.Question to you: 1) Can you share with me the links to the AQARA Wall Switch (without neutral)? I am able to locate the battery powered wireless switch, but am cautious of the wall switch as I read there are neutral vs non-neutral ones. 2) I read product pages like this - https://shopee.com.my/Xiaomi-Aqara-Light-Co...3668.1391757674 It says "fire wire". Does this mean with or without neutral? 3) I noticed that AQARA wall switch is up to 2-gang maximum only. Any proposed solution for 3-gang, 2-way? If i wana put aqara battery powered remote switch pad to turn them on also can. I can setup my home assistant automation, if aqara switch pad on/off, then sonoff basic on/off (flashed with tasmota and communicate with ha via mqtt). If u hv plaster ceiling, easier to put sonoff basic above the ceiling at first downlight that connected to parallel downlights circuit, before the wire looping start. https://shopee.com.my/visiongadgetry/206651184 Single firewire mean only need live wire. If only need live wire the range is 3w-800w If need neutral wire there is no minimal 3w range |

QUOTE(kokwei @ Aug 12 2018, 10:22 AM) Bro, thank you for your comprehensive explanation! *correctionYour use case for the sonoff basic is actually practical, i.e. by-passing on the wall switch and install sonoff basic on the plaster ceiling itself, before the actual LED downlight(s). And thanks for clarifying the definition of fire wire I thought wireless switch is not detected by hassio. But actually it does, by the domain binary_sensor.wall_switch_left_158d00021500ca The accessory & its states https://www.home-assistant.io/components/bi...r.xiaomi_aqara/ This post has been edited by luvox: Aug 13 2018, 08:24 PM |
