remaining probably mmwave sensors
either the expensive one like fp2 with multizone or just cheaper ones by tuya (make sure no fans in the area)
*
That's true. Will wait for a ceiling mounted one to be available. I've seen the ceiling ones by tuya but not sure if they're worth installing. And now I'm not sure if they will turn up in homekit or not after my siren didn't show up

i have the m2 hub but without a google nest which is needed to connect as matter.
from what i saw from google home, only the sensor (china version) were shown, not sure about the aqara D switch (china version) i had.

No plan to invest a google device before confirm it can be used.

appreciate if anyone can share their experience.
*
Oh I assumed you have a matter updated Aqara hub paired with a Matter Hub . Without the matter hub (Alexa / Google nest or Apple Homepod) , it won't work.

My nest minis have been updated to matter based on the firmware number. Just haven't hopped on board the matter architecture for Homekit yet.

That would be a good alternative since you can add any zigbee device (as long it’s listed in the zemismart compatible list)
Other than surveying for more homekit lights or converting any tuya downlight with native homekit firmware.
*
Actually you can add any ZigBee 3.0 device it will accept it. Not limited to the list. Except the sonoff s26, couldn't get that to work. All my other non Zemismart tuya zigbee 3.0 devices from other generic brands work

Speaking of which, anyone using matter products yet? Matter via manufacturer hub or matter over thread?

So far tested matter firmware on tasmota device with alexa/google speakers. Gets detected instantly
Definitely better than it was a few months ago

Nice! I’m looking forward to trying out some matter devices.. maybe curtain motors.. or something along those lines.

Patiently waiting for my M1S to be updated to Matter too. I’m on Gen 1, so supposedly second half of 2023.

I am doubtful that my zemismart and Neo hubs will be updated to matter, they’re most likely going to just come out with a matter hub.

Lo and behold, there was a beta update for my Gen 1 M1S , with support for matter. Ive just updated it and nothing broke yet. But i have yet to update my homekit to the new architecture (because my iMac and older iOS devices dont support it). Once i get some matter devices, probably have to bite the bullet and not be able to control homekit with those obsolete devices.

I upgraded to the new architecture about a month ago, so far no issues. Very happy with HKSV performance (cameras through Scrypted), I am just waiting for some dev to come with ability to create dummy apple homekey locks so that i can buy one that best suits my needs.
*
Thats great! I just feel sayang that if i update to the new architecture to get matter, then my iMac and iPad Air and iPhone 6 Plus would be out of service for homekit. But matter is inevitable. Theres one thing though, for the M1S, i have 2 , one on the Aqara App, and one on Mi Home. The Aqara one was updated to matter compatibility. Not sure how to update the Mi Home one. Anyone knows?

Yes, i would love to have a homekey plugin, but not sure how that would tie into my existing non-homekey Aqara D100 lock. The software for the lock seems to be very tied down, now sure how they can implement that. I can by pass it using a dummy switch now, maybe something along those lines, like a dummy homekey lock, then once that triggers, launch an automation that unlocks the actual lock.

By the way , for HKSV, if im on the 5gb free plan, what happens? Now im still on FFMPEG cos i dont have any icloud storage. Would i need to upgrade to the 2TB one? I have 22 cameras on homekit…

How is it out of service for homekit? I just know the ipad can't use as as home hub starting ios 16
*
My iMac cant support homekit new architecture, cos its a 2015 model. The Ipad is stuck on iOS 15, and new architecture not supported. Same goes for the 6 plus which is at iOS 12. I mean, those ios devices are just spare devices laying around, but its nice to have them to be able to control the house when the main phone and main ipad is not available. The biggest shame is the iMac. I did read that i can hack the latest macos into it though, but kinda iffy on that, since i dont want anything to break

Well people managed to reverse engineer HKSV, so surely the homekey thing also could be done. I have the 2TB family plan (its expensive but i do use apple music and i can share storage with my family whatever larh just have to bear with that cost) and i think if you have to get the 2TB plan for unlimited cameras, damn 22 cameras thats crazy, but good thing is that it doesnt eat into the 2TB storage. Pretty sure you need at least the 50GB plan to use 1 camera, 200GB i think 5 and 2TB unlimited. So far i am happy with the setup, its dual recording to HikVision NVR and motion based recording to HKSV and its actually pretty easy to share certain clips of the recording.
*
Oh ok ok need to have 2TB.. not ready to spend on that yet. I guess ill have to be content with the NVR/DVR storage for now. Yeah 22 cameras.. haha. Combination of wired and wireless, dahua + imou.

Hi everyone,

I've got quite a few switches paired with my Aqara M1S hub. They've been working perfectly for the past year or so. But recently, for no apparent reason at all, I keep getting no response from random switches in Homekit. When I check the Aqara app, those switches are online.

Funny thing is, when I toggle them in the aqara app, they become online again in Homekit. What's happening? I've rebooted the router and the aqara M1S hub after this happens but it still happens randomly.

Anyone knows how to solve this ?

Does this work the same as zemismart homekit hub, seems cheaper

https://shopee.com.my/product/98792886/1867...VUaAmJOEALw_wcB
*
Yup I have one of those too. They're branded as Neo sometimes. I have the neo, which in itself is a rebranded Zemismart. They work exactly the same and look the same too. If this neo was available earlier I would get this over the Zemismart, as this is much cheaper

Nice, your NEO hub is using wireless or wired network?
Thinking of getting one just to get tuya lock working with HA
*
All tuya homekit hubs are Ethernet only, it seems they can only make them wired. None that wireless. So I have them next to my router and mesh repeaters. Abit of a bummer actually

What accessories are you using with the Tuya HomeKit hubs? Does it have full integration? Like for bulbs, colors brightness etc will be properly integrated?
*
I basically use light switches, door sensors, temp sensors, zigbee modules (for alarm and staircase 2-way light). I dont have any RGB bulbs at the moment. Thinking of getting some for the garden, but still thinking about it due to range.

I would assume it should translate well into homekit, as my sonoff LED strip has full color control in homekit

My experience so far all the other brands I'm using, non Tuya integrates well... tapi this Tuya really difficult  sweat.gif

Trying to do the Tuya LAN control homebridge but am getting UDP errors ah doi, don't know what's wrong.
*
I tried TUYA integration via homebridge before. There was a local version and a cloud version. I turned it off later. I didnt like that i needed to use an iOT developer account and keep it active. So the homekit hubs were the best option for me

Zemismart already has some thread devices, smart curtain device also i did see. The companies are slowly rolling out larh, but since new home might as well get the most future proof one but nothing really wrong with zigbee and probably for now price of zigbee stuff is going to be of better value.
*
I just got 2 units of the zemismart matter curtain units. Just havent had the time to unbox, buy the hooks and install it yet. Also, havent updated my Homekit architecture yet. Will post review once i get all of this sorted

Hope matter works well

since I don't have homekit hub like apple tv/homepods.

Could I pair tuya homekit gateway directly to HA?
Would this expose all the entities/devices paired to it?
*
This im not sure, cos i dont have HA. But i think if Tuya can be paired to HA much like how tuya can be paired to HB (with caveats on IOT account), so by right it should work right? I think lah

Just finished making a portable zigbee rain sensor. Used a Tuya zigbee door sensor, soldered the leads of a rain sensor module to it, put it into a housing, and thats it. Now whenever it rains, i get a notification in Tuya App or Apple Home. Didnt go with the leak sensor cos that one has a loud alert, even if you mute your phone at night.

Pretty pleased with the outcome
