QUOTE(alexander3133 @ Jan 3 2018, 08:27 AM) Guys, any of the power consumption monitor device that you would recommend? Prefer socket type, like Sonoff S31, but UK plug, would like to monitor refrigerator power consumption. Those display type plug in wall socket have a short lifespan. Useless. Already 2 set spoiled. Not going to buy it anymore. Will try the Sonoff type which using apps. Just modify it to plug in wall socket.

Those 2 set of yours spoiled was from which manufacturer or what model? If able to cut wire, I would definitely go for Sonoff POW, but it is my refrigerator, don't want to risk it.

Cheap one cannot stand heat and will blackened over time until you can read nothing. The car LCD can last very long. That is the difference between cheap and expensive one, though not necessarily

No need cut wire la. Use this wan --> https://www.itead.cc/sonoff-pow.htmlWire out plug and socket. Can jalan already. All this power monitoring is made in China. Even macam macam brand stick on it. Brought from tradezone here. Few month LCD gone. Brought another wan from UK, last longer abit. Than also LCD no more reading liau.

This wan some digit cannot read. It still function. But useless if some digit cannot read. Throw away. Cost RM50+ Than this wan suddenly whole display gone. Nothing to see. Cost RM100

But useless if some digit cannot read. Throw away. Cost RM50+ Than this wan suddenly whole display gone. Nothing to see. Cost RM100 The display suddenly gone on the 2nd one most likely due to poor joint on ribbon flex cable. The LCD is normally joined to the PCBA using zebra strip or flex ribbon cable. The ribbon cable is connected through zif connector or soldered directly to the PCB using hot bar. Maybe can be fix. Heat doesn't from the sun. It can be also from the device itself. It can just simply because of poor LCD quality.

But App Tplink most clean and look professional. Sonoff is the cheapest. Get this 1) Sonoff Pow for RM43. 2) extension wire RM18 Cut the extension wire and joint the sonoff. Total cost RM61. Cheap cheap.

Actually now I m looking for the DC type. Want to monitor my Solar power consumption usage. Consumption is getting higher. Battery and panel can't coupe the usage when rainy day But mostly selling in the market is AC type.

what are the alternatives if your light switches do not come with a neutral wiring? I am in dilemma in figuring how to convert all the switches in my current home to a smart switch without any hacking..

And I like this switch too (still prefer the old-fashioned "clicking" switch). I will research more on this. **update: May buy 1 to try. Unfortunately, I need switch that has 1, 2 and 3 gangs/subswitches. Aqara only has 1 and 2 gangs. Also, review stated there's no light indicator or any indicator to indicate if the switch was turned on/off. Is this true? Any other similar switches like Aqara? I will research more on this. This is their official site in English. https://www.aqara.com/en/ctrl-neutral.htmlI think this smart switch has to work with XiaoMi Smart Home Gateway, which the app UI is Chinese, but I think can change to English. The Xiaomi Gateway looks like this: https://xiaomi-mi.com/sockets-and-sensors/x...i-mi-gateway-2/

Most of the time it is just direct replacement to existing home light switch in Malaysia since there is no N wire to the switch. There are some having problem with the switch because it does not work properly due to certain conditions.

Been thinking whether or not to buy for long time and still thinking I want to use it at: 1) Bathroom switch where wet fingers won't matter 2) Ceiling fan with remote switch. During power trip, the fan will spin at max speed once power is back on unless I switch off the switch on the wall
