QUOTE(loonsave @ Nov 3 2023, 09:10 AM) Ok, I will try it out once the installer install my A100 door lock. Apparently, I can add the Global M2 into China region. ok, then I shall do migration to China region . I'm on Other region, with some China switches that unable to pair in so I only have them in HomeKit mode.

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Nov 3 2023, 11:49 AM) You can use some 3rd party app to back up everything and when restore you can easily get back most stuff. Can back up the settings this way? When change hub all new entry into HomeKit right.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Nov 7 2023, 02:04 AM) ehh actually there r something easier for IR/RF remote broadlink rm4 pro Yes, I use Broadlink with one of my Daikin AC too, works fine. Oh if you're using IR only, buy the cheapest one. That has better than the pro model. I have 2 of the basic models (which I use to control IR only). And 1 of the pro where I use the RF to control fan speeds in another area. Previously the Pro was controlled the IR, and the placement can be hit or miss while the cheap model was far more flexible.

QUOTE(DarkILight @ Nov 7 2023, 11:24 AM) Thanks for the suggestion. I have actually tried Broadlink RM4 already, using home assistant and SmartIR. but it keeps disconnecting from the network every few minutes then reconnect. I'm using Broadlink via homebridge, so far rock solid. No disconnecting issue. maybe check your wi-fi reception perhaps?

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 11:52 AM) in my case, infound that 3 nodes of M9 Plus mesh cannot sustain continuous connection. some switches will eventually fall offline never to return. eventually had to make use of Maxis mesh nodes to carry the wall switches, spread over multi-SSID, and set DHCP lease max 4hrs. something about a hunch that previously when they go offline, they reconnect to wifi then asked for a totally new IP, eventually exhausting the DHCP /24 pool. So i shortened the lease time so that used IP can be reused as soon as practical. I fix my Wi-Fi devices IP so they are static, perhaps that can help the situation.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 01:02 PM) consumer routers have limited entries for mac-based assignment. and those tuya devices can't set static IP inside. i don't have fancy HA server. just smartlife. always think about what-if-i-die-and-no-one-can-continue. I'm using Asus, I set the static IP from router itself, assign base on mac id.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 01:20 PM) Maxis is unlike Unifi:- RJ11 VoIP is with their ISP router, and if you follow @Anime4000 thread, he tested that the VoIP device must identify with certain string before Maxis allow login. With Unifi is was easier since sub-1Gbps uses ONT with own RJ11, can pair with any router separately. meaning Maxis fiber cannot use with third party routers? I was thinking to switch to Maxis once my Digi contract over for the public IP.

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 7 2023, 02:00 PM) caaaan. i don't know about 1Gbps set up since its new, but the set up of 800Mbps and below is similar to Unifi, but TM don't allow access to the RJ11 of ONT, so have to rely on RJ11 of router. If like me want to retain usage of VoIp, then have to continue using the ISP router or find ATA that can spoof model identification string. Ahh, ok my Digi don't come with VoIP... generally no diff since my home no landline

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Nov 8 2023, 08:36 PM) i want to use zigbee. BUT, no zigbee wall switch 4-gang w/ neutral. and the zigbee UK 3-pin wall socket cannot tolerate above 250V, will turn off. There is 1 brand that has 4 gang switch Zigbee with neutral, pricey. It’s Terncy. Last time they used to sell direct can get about RM 130 for 4 gang with neutral, now after a local distributor take over 240+. I actually had a set of hub some switches and all. End up due to the local distributor I decided to switch to Aqara.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Dec 7 2023, 04:10 AM) I have 2-ways switch headache for my staircase and shared bathroom too. basically the switch on the market did not offer any suitable solutions for 2ways wall switch. at the end, the best solution is to use normal switch on both side and sync the status. I flashed tasmota, in it hv a feature that able synced the device's status... its device to device without server. I use websent at first, it works but sometime doesn't sync and slow. then I use devgroup to sync. it is much much better and fast. try it... What I did for my 2 way switches is 1 side with Aqara D1, another side with Aqara D1 Wireless. Kaotim both looks exactly the same.

So I have 3 Aqara S1E that the screen is failing by flickering... I kinda enabled the standby screen so it is usually black color. Surprisingly now all of them seem to work fine again, no more flickering.

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Dec 22 2023, 09:37 AM) i no need to be expert aldy can see it is overheating. to proof this, choose 1 to disable ur standby screen. then use a fan to blow directly to it, or use in aircon room. Among the 3, the first 2 failed was in a cooler spot of the house. The last one to flicker was the one in hotter area. Nevertheless, just gonna stick to standby 😂 already come to peach about S1E being not stable. Use until it’s broken then change to D1 or E1.

QUOTE(mental007 @ Dec 26 2023, 01:27 AM) Hi all, read so many sources to suggest different methods to add neutral wire for smart switch. May I know which method is the most recommended way? 1. Add neutral wire from the light that connects to the same switch. 2. Loop from nearby Aircond/Heater switch 3. Add 1 neutral wire from DB box and loop the same wire to all the switches for neutral. I did #1 when my house was under renovation, so far running good for 1 year.

QUOTE(epicure @ Jan 2 2024, 04:09 PM) Same My one had lines for like a couple of days. Then it disappeared Fingers crossed Yes, the lines and sometimes flickers. Are you using it always on screen, or does it turn off during standby?

QUOTE(de_ghost @ Jan 6 2024, 01:52 AM) I’m in a dilemma in between choosing smart home setup for new house. I’ll be using homekit. Aiming for either aqara or zemismart M1 hub to use with homekit. Any thought from sifu sifu here? No sifu here, I started off fresh with Aqara M2 hub as my main system and later integrating others to HomeKit via HomeBridge. Aqara stuffs so far used for 1 year is rock solid (minus the S1E...) I also use a ATV4K with 1Gbe for home hub. Which this I use only for this LOL, original plan I placed the ATV4K at my movie room thinking at times I would need to stream or YouTube... but nah almost never happens. Aqara has good build and pricing is cheaper than the other Chinese brand I was considering called Terncy. But that one the switches much nicer and has 4 gang.
