So recently I signed 24 month for a Sony z3 mobile plan, monthly plan is RM85

When the bill arrives in, I have a long debate with customer service.


I have to pay something called early termination contract prorate fees for RM20.83

So I don't understand why am I paying something I don't need to? And rebate of what? it says the RM20.83 was divided by 24month of RM500 penalty charges, so I am not teminating my contract why I'm paying?

Secondly its not gonna refund me when I finish the 24 month contract,


I left with confused. I have an advance payment RM450 if I terminate now I have to pay RM500 it mean I brouhht the phone RM2600 Sony z3.


Anyone can answer me of this bill paymeny question?

Did you do anything that are potentially breaching contract?

you should only pay rm40 for the first 10 months

since you already did advance payments

No I am not breaching contract at all.
it's the first month bills.

Basically is like 85(necessary for advance payment for next month)+36(this month)+20.83(early termination fees)+6% service charge

Lodge another complain to celcom, request for report number, use the number to report exactly what happenned to CFM(google it) and you they will step in to handle this problem because what celcom is charging is ridiculous.

They say the advance payment Will only start deduct next month

What I confuse is the RM20.83

Customer service says my account was not over charged...

Its just I don't understand the RM20.83 under discount and rebate thingy

No need to think about it. Once u sign the contract u fell into celcom's trap. Just spread the word on social media about their unscrupulous way of doing business. It happen to me also I subscribed to celcom wireless broadband for rm138. Need to pay device upfront charge for rm200 , rm100 registration fee and package upfront charge rm40 total rm340.
After 1 month wanted to terminate because service not satisfactory. Call to customer service to enquire about cooling period. CS said only 7days. If want to terminate need to pay rm200 penalty. I ask for what I don't owe celcom anything and I paid for upfront charge for the device. CS said sorry u signed the contract.

Now my celcom can't call. If terminate need pay penalty RM500, and my RM450 advance will forfeit.

Mean I pay RM3k for a Sony z3

I'm with Celcom iPhone plan, every month we have this penalty pro rata for about RM 84. No worry, Celcom actually just shows the penalty in the bill, in fact they do not charge you as in the bill, they off set it under the rebate and discount part.

Since you are under contract, if you wish to terminate Celcom line before your contract end, then you have to pay RM 20.83 x remaining months. If you still with Celcom, just ignore it, don't worry.
