Just got a Filco Majestouch 2 brown for office use.
Still a little bit too noisy. Need to practice not bottoming out....

But I like the design. Simple and looks like a regular well built keyboard from afar lol (Though can be pimped up to look really really nice).

Im using a Razer blackwidow 2014 green switch at home.
Hmm. Honestly I can't really tell the difference yet (Or why it's really highly regarded)

Green is clicky and brown is not
the difference is quite obvious

Of course the greens are more audible and slightly more tactile than the browns.
I was wrong in using the term no difference... but
I was expecting it blow my mind since razer blackwidows are using ripoff CherryMX and Majestouch is widely regarded to be really good.
It's good I'll admit but not as much as when I switch from a scissors switch to a mechanical switch.

It's hard to compare when you using click compare with just tactile.
Try find any friends with Razer Orange switches and compared with Cherry MX Brown.
Or Razer Green with Cherry MX Blue.
Majestouch is the best OEM keyboard existed. nod.gif

Well, I think your hope is too high for it. It's like comparing spritzer and evian. Evian definitely is better, but it's still water anyway. Scissors switch are like boiled tap water.

Next step, modded switch please. tongue.gif

I did try razer orange switches and it felt a little too mushy.
The MX Brown is definitely much better and the majestouch is really solid with no flex.
But I was hoping it will blow my mind. Maybe I'll need to use for a few more days.

sad.gif Filco is a great keyboard, but really it won't blow your mind. Accept it. icon_idea.gif
After few days, still the same.

Mechanical keyboard really a good stuff, it helps reduce my wrist pain since I type a lot every day.
If you feel your typing sound are loud, install o-rings on the keycaps.
Will greatly dampen the sound, and improve your office experience.

Greetings All MKB Sifu-sifu notworthy.gif , I never own a mechanical keyboard and would like to get an 'entry-level MKB without LED backlight'.
I have tried Ducky Legend and I was amazed by the solid build and heavy weight of it but it costs RM529... sweat.gif (Too expensive for me sad.gif )
Any idea where can I buy a decent and sturdy FILCO MKB (Blue Switch)? In SIBU
I dont mind if it is 2nd hand as long as it is still in Great condition!

As quovadis123 said above, there are a few in the garage sales going for below RM300, you can try looking for them.

Welcome to the mkb world.

Sibu?

I suggest you just grab a mainstream brand gaming mech kb like Razer Blackwidow since I can pretty much confirm you won't be able to find non-mainstream mech kb in Sibu, unless you opt for 2nd hand, some ppl here are from sibu too IINM.

hi guys. I'm new here. Was thinking to buy my 1st MKB, however see the price jump so much compare buying membrane keyboard.
Did see through google/youtube, and in this thread about brown/red/blue about the keyboard. But was advice to go try those keyboard.
I live in penang, maybe anyone know which shop having demo so i can try those keyboard off?
Saw promotion from Gtech on MKB, CM Storm Trigger Z Mechanical Gaming Keyboard - Brown Switch @ RM450 FREE CM Storm Recon Mouse Black
(Normal SRP RM449 + RM179 = RM628)
quite tempting.
but MKB price are... like 4,5 time of normal keyboard, so really have to see/try before buying.
Any advice or place in penang suggestion so i could try before buying one. thanks biggrin.gif

My budget is around RM350 sweat.gif . Non-mainstream MKBs are difficult to be found here sad.gif full of Razer peripherals here~~
Get from West Malaysia through PosLaju, I wonder is it safe or not.
Later I'll have a look at Garage Sales.
Before that, any sifu from SIBU wanna let go 2nd hand non-led backlight MKB? wink.gif
