Dank. laugh.gif
Stock gaterons blacks? I've already used mx blues, and mx clears. I don't know if id like linear tho. rclxub.gif
Any suggestions? I thought of using linear gaterons but then it's kinda soft. Maybe even too soft. I have one clear gateron and it's really smooth but I guess it's because it's lubed anyways from the owner. unsure.gif

Technical part not sure. For appearance part, the keycaps legend used are different and g104's are more back light friendly

Will never use stock spring tongue.gif
Always 55g for me.

If you don't like linear, dont paksa urself to like linear tongue.gif
Gateron stock linear got 3 weights, 1 is clear with 45g spring, 1 is red with 60g spring, and 1 more black is 80g spring kinda heavy.
Gateron switches are smooth to start with, and they comes with a little lube.

I like tactile. My first board was a ducky with browns. tbh, browns are not that bad.
but clear switch with 62g is really the sweet spot for me now. smile.gif

yeah, there is the whole debate going on for kailh and cherry. afaik they felt almost identical and the biggest question is their built/durability. if cherry cant last up to 20 years while kailh up to 15 years, i wouldnt mind kailh though. not too sure about gateron though but is a good thing cherry knock off getting more recognition.
Thanks for the suggestion, i think i need to stretch my wallet a bit more for filco, on the plus side i can smack people with it and it will be still good smile.gif

Kinda frustrated whenever I desolder mass produced keyboard, Ducky, KBT, IKBC, Filco..etc.
The solder melts really slow that I have to add my Kester solder for reflow, so it is easier to melt.

Kester solder wire is really good, highly recommended for anybody to do soldering works.

Took me about +- 8 hours time to do everything, excl cleaning doh.gif

Exactly. That's why I rather assemble a whole freaking new keyboard from scratch than help people modify their kibod.

If you don't need LED, Filco.

Then i take both. Thanks quovadis123.

Niceeee! I just realised that Filcos switch orientation is upside down on the bottom left side. Lol
Either way. Looks real clean and nice. By the way, did you lube the switches? You said previously the switches came pre-lubed a little. I actually still have some thick lube that was meant for tactile switches. Not sure if it's appropriate if I use it for linear. Maybe if I could just apply it evenly and thinly? sweat.gif

For this I did not lube the switch, I left it at "default". Not worth to spend so much of time sweat.gif
You can apply a thin layer. Also depends on the viscosity of your lube.
Lubing thicker oil will definitely making it more silent.

First, Filco is not expensive. If you always have tracking the Filco prices, the Filco now are cheaper compared to last time 4xx-5xx.
Second, Filco is the best among all OEM in its league.

You can try for some entry boards first, then after quite a long time recommended you upgrade to Filco to see the real difference of Filco.

Note: My old filco MJ2 is >RM4xx

Deck is good. It's like Ducky as well.
The pro in Deck is that, the LED features can be scripted by user. nod.gif

Costar = Clipped-cherry > Cherry
Costar feel nicer to press on, flexible, and the responsiveness is superb.
The pro of costar is can fit some warped long keys without any issue like tilted etc.
So, it's good for those entry or medium user.

Once, you go deep into custom later, most are using Cherry stab.
