How do you folks come into terms that, a bottle of your perfume can cost as much as a nice flat screen TV? More expensive than gold? My Zegna collection alone could pay for a nice holiday in Amsterdam? I can't. I should consider quitting this hobby sweat.gif

I guess it depends on whether you're materialistic or practical person. For me, high-end designers should be <RM400, mainstream niche<RM500 and anything >RM500 is considered luxury niche to me. I would spend anywhere between RM500 to RM800 on a perfume if I really love it and it is rare/unique. Having said that, even though it is an expensive hobby, you can take it slowly and buy within your budget.

True. One of the thing I learn from this hobby is not to be caught up in a hype train...

Hi guys, I hope you dont mind me joining this LYN Fragrantica..although the thread is for guys perfume, but i'm more towards unisex scent. Searched at the ladies forum, nothing interesting & i dont wear makeup.

I mostly collect miniatures, and have a handful of full bottles as well....here's my wardrobe tongue.gif
http://www.fragrantica.com/member/257970/

Most fav house is from Diptyque & Jo Malone. I used to buy a lot from FragranceX until one day i received a warning from pharmacy dept prohibiting me from importing perfumes without permission from them sad.gif

Due to our shitty exchange rates & the import limitation i have to stop buying online/overseas...buying local are expensive too thanks to GST :'(

Welcome on board. We have a couple of female perfumista here too.

I believe fragrancex is under their radar. I received a couple of warning letters from them too with purchases from fragX only but I think it's okay if it's for personal use. I didn't bother.

Thanks Marver, i do stalk around your online store for potential decant binge in the future tongue.gif
I've tested all Diptyque & bought all the full bottles that i liked before GST, that sales lady knows my face everytime i linger around at Pavilion, so does the Jo Malone SAs...malu la pulak to walk out empty handed.

Do you guys do swap? I'm thinking of swapping my tuberose based L'Artisan Nuit de Tubereuse with Fou d`Absinthe or Premier Figuier (bought new, unboxed but never sprayed) since i already have Diptyque Do Son. I realised that i'm not a big fan of tuberose tongue.gif

Speaking of Tuberose, my favorites are Tubereuse Criminelle, Tubereuse 3 Animale, Carnal Flower and camphorous tuberose found in the opening of Maai. Having said that, I'm not really a fan of buttery tuberose in Fracas but it smells better on my wife.

I stopped buying online for a very very long time after an idiotic encounter with kastam vmad.gif vmad.gif

and i do admit i am a brand conscious dude. whenever i want to spur more than 700 for sth that i am applying on me to smell nice of coz i want to be treated like a king by the sales person. When i was in HK, visited the shop that retail Frederic Malle thinking to replenish my bigarade concentre but i walked out due to the sa that look down on me, and i went to kilian counter, the sa is so lovely and knowledgeable spend time let me test test spray spray and teach me on how to enjoy exclusive kilian 10% discount bla bla bla, i was so happy and walk away with a few bottles and tonnes of sample sprays lol inside by kilian shopping bag

and i purposely go back to that moronic shop with my haul, the sa like omfg change attitude 720 degree. i was lmao

so dont feel malu to keep test test test and walk out empty handed. this is not like go pasar malam buy things... customer is always right and they are king, you dont buy today doesnt mean you wont buy in the near future thumbup.gif

What kind of fig are you looking for? if coconut milky kind of fig, dont think so much just get Diptyque Philosykos edp will do smile.gif if greener side then Adp Fico di Amalfi or Armani Prive Figuer Eden

Tuberose is an acquired taste. sometimes it can be either very carnal, green or coconut... and there are only 2 that i love which are Frederic Malle Carnal Flower and Kilian Beyond love. given the love but i cant find the perfect occasion to wear it coz whenever i am up for any upscale event or formal function... TF Black Orchid / By Kilian A Taste of Heaven / Rose Oud will do the trick, daily wear Xerjoff Nio, sensual or date Memo Siwa smile.gif

Unrealistically? All tongue.gif

Realistically? Leather Oud probably.

Still can't get past my list to purchase.

I have Creed, TF and few others on my purchase list :/

Just that if I do grab a Privee, kinda prefer it to be unisex so that the lady boss can utilize it for me as well.

My Sauvage barely 10% used laugh.gif
