SOTD: Went out to sample Sahraa Oud, by Fragrance Du Bois. RM2500+ for 50ml. They claimed to use "100% organic vintage oud oil." I definitely love it.

I'm going to sample all of Xerjoff Stars this Monday and probably going to end up purchasing one. Stay tuned  rclxms.gif

Fulamak... big boss!! But Xerjoff here quite cheap compare to hk. Nio going for 780 wtf... daylight robbery. And oud star 960

Me too so damn close and tempted to grab both lira and mamluk on Saturday when me and gf were doing Christmas shopping at Gardens at fragrance du bois fair. They are going to have a permanent counter inside Robinson jor...

My gf gave me a dun play with me eyes stare and threaten to throw my other bottles if i whack these 2 beautiful gourmand.

Fragrance du bois they have their own oud farm even though they can give 25% discount still way over the limit for me to spend on one single bottle somemore their oud are quite medicinal depending on ur taste.

Agree with you bro.
Most of i hear and review on Montale are abt their oud notes creation.
Not sure abt their sea scent / notes...  So far,I haven't explore Montale line-up.Probably any other forumer can share their experience and review  wink.gif
Was looking around and explore Xerjoff, Clive Christian or Roja nx year..
Or probably any British perfume house ; Penhaligon's  hmm.gif

Montale and me no no the oud too kaw for my liking. Clive christian and roja share one thing in common they like to make chypre. And that botak now targeting those arabic by releasing more oud and dubai exclusives and clive christian taking its time to create something from the past and just time for it to go oud lol

Penhaligon not my style of house for my liking. Juniper sling breaks my heart lol

Been eager to try the scent out.... The notes looks promising to me.

Unfortunately, I did not buy any Xerjoff today. I wanted try Zafar, and ready to purchase if I like it. They don't have a tester bottle to try. Too expensive to blind buy.

The crown jewel of the Oud Stars collection, Zafar going for RM900 after discount. Good deal?

I love medicinal oud, it gives the fragrances its 3rd dimension feels. I've narrow down two Fragrance Du Bois that I like:

1) Oud Orange Intense - Smooth Vanilla + Oud. There's nothing 'orange' about it. Gourmand, and oud. Very strong silage and longevity.
2) Oud Noir Intense - Spices, medicinal oud, musk, flowery (jasmine, and very light rose).

Agree, it's too expensive. Even if it's a real Oud, but we're talking about cultivated, planted oud. Not the well aged oud.

But err I end-up purchasing something biggrin.gif

Medicinal skanky oud is the one I would go for instead of cleaned up French's version.

BTW congratulation on your haul bro! rclxms.gif

SOTD - Interlude by Amouage
Smokey BBQ amber. It fills a room with just a few squirts.

Ah, you had my attention on Ostara with Narcissus. I love Narcissus Noir by Caron. Nowadays, I would only grab my Racquets Formula (discontinued) or English Fern when I feel like dandy. The bowtie bottle is as dandy as the scents.

Honestly speaking, you, astroboy, marver and izam7 (angie, leena and joey) are sifu in your own right too.

What I know is peanut compares with those in #FFF. Just trying to contribute a little of what I know to this local fraghead community of ours.

I have the current formulation and tried the vintage from a tester. Couldn't tell the difference though.
