My new haul, acquired recently.

1) LV Ombre Nomade (Blind Bought this after saw bro chiahau hype about it, and by looking at the notes in Fragr*nt*ca. Love this stuff so much)

[attachmentid=10225164]

2) MFK Grand Soir (Been sampling it for quite sometimes, and finally decided to get a full bottle)

[attachmentid=10225165]

3) Chanel AHEB (Been sampling this for sometime too, good addition to my existing AHSEE and definitely be part of my daily office scent rotation)

[attachmentid=10225166]

LV Ombre Nomade - I blind bought this not because of the brand name, but due to the quality of the juice and of cause the smell. Ask the SA to spray on my skin and it is a love at the first sniff. Gorgeous opening I would say. I can tell that the Oud oil used in this juice is top notch and blended very well. Oud done in perfection, where you don't get that skunky and pungency of the natural pure oud oil, resulting a pleasent, smooth and elegent oud fragrance. I got that incensy and sweet benzoin in the opening too which I believe tamped down and rounded off the oud. After a while, I got a sweet and beautiful raspberry, similar to what I got from TF Tuscan Leather, and surprisingly I smelled a hint of leather too. I don't find leather listed as one of the note, but I'm pretty sure there is a leather note in here. Or maybe it is just my brain interpretation of a well blended saffron+oud+birch....I'm not sure. The dry down was something to die for, a sweet floral with a hint of oud and leather scents were reminiscent of TF Tuscan Leather, and Tuscan Leather being one of the frag that I love and appreciate the most. Performance is superb, it projects well around 2-3 hours and longevity easily hit 8 hours on my skin, but I can still smell it the next morning on my shirt. 2 cents

Glad I manage to influence you.

Gonna get my second bottle soon. 1st bottle finishing already tongue.gif

And the missus uses it to work. After 8 hours, you can still smell it on the skin.

Heck, the bed smells like Ombre nomade as well biggrin.gif

Wow....PdM lover spotted, I have Herod and Layton from this house, love both very much. Might be getting Habdan decant from you to test out. How about Carlisle? Just ordered sample vial to test out, since Redolessence place it at no 1 spot for his PdM collection. Heard Oajan also not bad.

laugh.gif Went n bagged Tom Ford's Venetian Bergamot back home.

Can't resist that creamy gardenia and ylang-ylang while bergamot lingers in the background.

Perfect for our weather tbh

I’m very particular about authenticity, and I won’t recommend if they are not legit.

Nice haul there bro. I have VB sample and I like the scent. The performance was good too. Was thinking to bag Rive D’Ambre, but on the 2nd thought, might as well wait for Lavender Extreme to arrive first (probably in May). Let us know your thoughts on it.

The cheapest you can get is from luxuryperfume, but I think they have limited range there. I personally prefer Kens because of their membership program. You can collect points which can be converted to a cash voucher. Then you can purchase more cologne with that voucher. smile.gifsmile.gif

My recent haul

user posted image Elborn by Carner Barcelona. Boozy Vanilla Scent. Smell delicious. Like Ice cream vanilla and gourmandish but Not Sweet. i blind bought this, and maybe 1 of my best blind buy. ( i regret some of my purchase) but love the thrill of blindbuy.

user posted image PdM Kuhuyan .Leather and floral. I dunno why this frag has less exposure compared to others from the house.

user posted image Xerjoff Black Sukar. My first Oud Attar from Xerjoff. I tried few times and acquired decant before buying this. Floral Musky. Oud not so prominent here. Projection and longevity is great. My friend taught me to use attar with unscented lotion such as cetaphil.

Here we go thumbup.gif

Venetian Bergamot

Venetian Bergamot opens with bright tarty Bergamot (duh haha). I do detect some spicy nuances, most likely from pepper and ginger. Both spicy notes bring the overall opening freshness to the next level.

The opening lasts for around 30 mins to an hour (estimates) before softening and unveils full floral power. The floral that that unleashed is predominantly gardenia and some sweetness from ylang-ylang. The mid-note phase is quite creamy and slightly sweet. Once unleashed, it projects like a beast for another 2 hours. This is by far my favourite phase from Venetian Bergamot.

Although the mid-phase is full-blown floral, I still detect slight tart and fruitiness from bergamot. The bergamot did not fade away completely after the opening. This is quite interesting as fresh fruit scent would not last this long (I am watching you Mandarino di Amalfi innocent.gif ), but evidently, in VB, it does.

After around 4-5 hours of wearing, the base notes begin to unfold. I detect slight reminiscent of Santal Blush due to a higher concentration of sandalwood in the base. The sandalwood in this phase slowly eating away the florals from the mid-phase but still holds some slight nuances of bergamot (not bad).

Overall, Tom Ford Venetian Bergamot is not like what it is named to be. It is a floral dominant with slight tart from bergamot through and through. I would see this suitable for those metrosexual men who don't mind to carry floral fragrances. For those who aren't, sample first before blind-buy.

Longevity: > 8 hours
Projection: > 2-3 hours
Silage: > Arms length-ish, good scent trail for the first 1-3 hours depending on humidity

I've tested Rive D'Ambre the other day, it reminds me of fruity colognes (such as Jo Malone, AdP etc). The performance is a bit lacklustre tho, most probably due to its predominantly fresh fruit composition.

Saw some reviews on Lavender Extreme, most of them say it's quite unexpected, smells very daring and slightly creamy.

Hopefully, it does not reminds me of lavender Fabuloso detergent blush.gif

Thanks for sharing your thought on both colognes.

I do agree on the Rive D’Ambre performance though the scent is nice. Thats the reason why I hold from buying it for now.

I have high expectation on Lavender Extreme and I hope it will come up to that expectation. Hopefully...

Mine from early 2017 bottles, and i do detect the smokey tar and ashy birch smell from it. I have 2016 samples and the opening was quite zesty, sharp and sweet. Aventus is a nice cologne and I wore it a lot throughout past 2 years. Now slow down a bit and last I wore it, if not mistaken back in August last year during cousin’s wedding. Reason being its not unique and exclusive anymore with so many clones widely available in the market. I might revisit again tomorrow and can share my take here. Anyway, so sorry bro as I’m not selling mine as it will always be in my collection.
