Hohoho. We straight point into the endgame one. no need pusing2 😂 btw bro izam. Would love to know your thoughts on rirana fragrance. You had a bottle of vanilla tobacco from the house right? How's the performance and scent of the perfume. Is it a good fragrance?

Let me just say my 1st bottles is Versace Homme and Armani pour Homme bought 1993/94 when i study in Canada.

They are still with me and the Armani smell a bit dated but the Versace is still as strong as ever . No reformulation and Euro zone ingredient ban BS during that time. And that CK One , with Kate Moss as the ambassador , is all the Hype when it launched . Unisex is a big selling point that time.

Now , i know that Armani Homme is a copy of Eau Sauvage by Dior , and nobody really cares about Versace Homme .

I love both Armani eau pour homme & Versace l'homme thumbup.gif and you are lucky you still have pre reformulation stuff which imo better than current version of both of these gems. Oh and Eau Sauvage too smile.gif

What do you mean by dated haha maybe you dont like oakmoss? biggrin.gif

Sorry for the late reply bro.
I saw your post asking about this before but it happened i forgot to reply back.

I used to buy few perfumes from this seller before he launch his own brand (rirana).
i also got few free samples to try out before the official launch.

In principal for me it's a good try for the local perfumer.
The performance (longevity/sillage) is superb.

In term of scent itself, for the normal/noob nose, it might be quite ok.
But for someone like me who already exposed with niche, artisanal and natural scents, it's just an average perfume.
Although there are multiple notes listed, i can't really smell the scent development from top until basenotes (too linear)
What I don't like is the material (oil) they used. It's like to buy few oils from middle east and then stir them together.
Thats why their perfume are quite oily

But at the end, it's just my preference. I strongly suggest anyone should try first their samples.
Who knows, you might enjoy them icon_rolleyes.gif

Note: For local brand, i strongly suggest for you to try out Auphorie. thumbsup.gif

Hi bro izam7 i saw u purchased Areej La door discovery kit awhile ago, mind to share your review on them?
*
You can check the full/detail review on Fragrantica and Basenotes.

The kit is from their 4th collection.
I miss the 1st and 2nd.
For the 3rd & 4th collection, I managed to get the discovery kit before sold out after few days.
I even bought 9ml atomizer each from 3rd collection (cost around 60-80usd only compared to 300-400usd for 50ml)
Unfortunately there is still no small atomizer yet from 4th collection.

In principal, it's a line we shall try out in order to enhance our nose in perfumery world.
Their quality is top notch due to the natural ingredients been used.
It's definitely above luxury/niche line (artisanal).
Another artisanal line that you should try is Bortnikoff (he is co-owner of Feel Oud with Adam (perfumer areej)- The 2nd and 3rd collection discovery kit still available.

tq bro izam7 for the information. My friend gave me the discovery kit from their 4th collection, and i really adore Malik Al Taif. The rose note in this frag is stunning. I agree with u about the quality of this. And for the Bortnikoff, i heard about the house, but i didnt have any chance to try them yet.

I own full bottle of Miyako.
For the rest,just the samples.
Miyako for sure. There is the reason why it won Perfume of Year last time and got 5 Stars rating from Luca Turin.

I prefer Areej over Bortnikoff as Bortnikoff scent composition I found quite challenging (less appealing/very complex)

love wood sage & sea salt. Lime basil & mandarin to my nose just smells like kaffir lime leaf lol. English pear & freesia while nice it's too soft to have any wow factor to me. Have you tried out the wild weed & flower line?

Looks like Diptyque is launching new fragrance which centered around mint.

Eau de Minthe

Got complimentary sample of Diptyque's newly released - Eau De Minthe. Nice, pleasant and fougere-like fresh scent, suitable with our climate condition (hot and humid). I got a lot of mint in the opening, like straight in your face kind of mint scent. For my amateur nose, the opening wasn't so unique, as it has colgate tooth paste or Gillete shaving cream kindda vibe. But somehow it reminds me the opening of Creed Viking, without any prominent spices and saltiness (i don't get colgate/gillete vibe from Viking though.) Then after about half an hour, floral notes started to surface and toned down the strong mint scent a bit, but I still got that colagate vibe a little bit. At certain point during drydown, I got an earthy, sweet and pepperish smell and sudenly reminds me of Dior Sauvage (no joke). Performance is just average I would say with soft projection and moderate longevity. Full bottle worthy? I've been wearing this for 2 days in a row and asked my wife for her opinion too, and I probably pass this one. Lets wait for the new LV released and TF Lavender Extreme to arrive to our shore.

My new haul, acquired recently.

1) LV Ombre Nomade (Blind Bought this after saw bro chiahau hype about it, and by looking at the notes in Fragr*nt*ca. Love this stuff so much)

Attached Image

2) MFK Grand Soir (Been sampling it for quite sometimes, and finally decided to get a full bottle)

Attached Image

3) Chanel AHEB (Been sampling this for sometime too, good addition to my existing AHSEE and definitely be part of my daily office scent rotation)

Attached Image

LV Ombre Nomade - I blind bought this not because of the brand name, but due to the quality of the juice and of cause the smell. Ask the SA to spray on my skin and it is a love at the first sniff. Gorgeous opening I would say. I can tell that the Oud oil used in this juice is top notch and blended very well. Oud done in perfection, where you don't get that skunky and pungency of the natural pure oud oil, resulting a pleasent, smooth and elegent oud fragrance. I got that incensy and sweet benzoin in the opening too which I believe tamped down and rounded off the oud. After a while, I got a sweet and beautiful raspberry, similar to what I got from TF Tuscan Leather, and surprisingly I smelled a hint of leather too. I don't find leather listed as one of the note, but I'm pretty sure there is a leather note in here. Or maybe it is just my brain interpretation of a well blended saffron+oud+birch....I'm not sure. The dry down was something to die for, a sweet floral with a hint of oud and leather scents were reminiscent of TF Tuscan Leather, and Tuscan Leather being one of the frag that I love and appreciate the most. Performance is superb, it projects well around 2-3 hours and longevity easily hit 8 hours on my skin, but I can still smell it the next morning on my shirt. 2 cents
