locozz03 Musc Ravegeur, for me very musculine, spicy musky to be exact. Slightly animalic during the opening. But the dry down is fantastic. Performs above average on my skin. 10hr+ Not for casual and Not a safe frag. But u guys own more challenging frag, this is quite safe for u i guess. haha cool2.gif

Eh can't say like that, need to sample first. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif Anyway, looks like you are decanting Habdan too, and I found the notes are quite interesting (myrhh+olibanum=wow). Mind sharing how this beast smells like bro? Interested to try....

Habdan, i got incensy caramelized apple, probably from the myrrh. Doesnt project loudly, but has a very good longevity. Quite special and underrated from the house. The overrated from the house, is Layton. I like it, but nothing spectacular. But most people might disagree with me. Haha

Wow....PdM lover spotted, I have Herod and Layton from this house, love both very much. Might be getting Habdan decant from you to test out. How about Carlisle? Just ordered sample vial to test out, since Redolessence place it at no 1 spot for his PdM collection. Heard Oajan also not bad.

if u love Herod and Layton, u will not go wrong with carlisle. Carlisle to me is combination betweeen those 2 and performs much better. I tried Oajan, i like it too. Maybe my next PdM after Layton EX.

Received my Oajan and Carlisle sample vial earlier today. First impression:-

Carlisle - Agreed with you, the opening was a reminiscent of Herod+Layton, and to my amateur nose I get more Layton than Herod, which I really love. The drydown is very beautiful, but a little bit boring since it reminds me of YSL LNDL with vanilla added to it (not the same though, but it has LNDL vibe). Full bottle worthy? To me, I need to give more wearing time before decided to purchase. I already have both Herod and Layton, so this one can wait.

Oajan - The opening is a bit piercing and sweet. I get sweet honey+sweet Tonka, then benzoin slowly came to the surface after a while. Do I like it....too early to say. Definitely need more wearing time in order to judge it worthiness.

Too bad, can't find Layton Ex sample to test out, since it was being hyped too. province86 Share with us your thought on Layton Ex when it's in your possession.

I love carlisle because it has more smoky vibe. I got smoky, like tobacco note but the note not listed in the note breakdown. i understand why it reminds you of LDNL, maybe because of the cardamon. Curently still looking for good offer for Layton Ex. The price is cheaper than carlisle, but has higher price /ml. But i will definitely share my take on that. Too bad, Fragrance Du Bois stop bringing this brand to Malaysia, If not, we can always try them first.

And.... another fougere-ish type of fragrance from Tom Ford

Estee Lauder seems to be milking that trend hard

user posted image user posted image

Lavender Extreme is the new fragrance in the Tom Ford Private Blend collection. Contrastingly fresh and stimulating, Tom Ford surpasses the traditional boundaries of scent with Lavender Extreme.

In a blend that is reworked and refracted Lavender appears like it never has been before to transitioning into something irreverently new a thrilling, dramatic creation to be worn at blown out proportions.

Lavender is maximized to the extreme reaching new limits, translated from its legendary origin in Provence and into a fresh redefinition of its qualities.

* Available in 50ml and 250ml. Price to be at the same tier as FF, LC, RC

Luckily I got exempted from SST and custom tax when buying from fragranceX. Total price USD 67 add another 15 USD shipping cost as declared by them. Courier is DHL, declare value in total RM 346.

Price range? What kind of scent do you like? Sweet? Fresh? Fruity? Spicy scent?
I'd say go for Dior sauvage edt. It's a fresh spicy aromatic mass pleaser. You'll never go wrong with it. The fragrance lasts on my skin and will last a day worth of working in the office. It's very versatile and can be worn in all occasions. However due to it's popularity you'll probably not be smelling unique.

A cheaper alternative would be Versace Dylan Blue or Prada Luna Rossa Carbon which follows the DNA of Dior sauvage.

You can try to find from online seller. Mostly priced around 300. Or you can try buying a decant/sample to try and see if you like the fragrance before deciding to purchase a full bottle.

Where did you guys checkout the pricing? For that kind of price/ml, they really need to be very very good in order to sustain and to be in this game for long time.

As a beginner, i suggest to start with CK One. It won’t hurt your wallet much, nice scent, mass appealing and decent performance. Don’t expect 4-6 hours of longevity but the projection is quite good though. 2 cents
