The mantra here is SAMPLING bro...
U have to keep on sampling...sampling and sampling...
Don't reluctant to buy sample, vial or decant.

In my case,i've spent a lot on samples even for the designer perfume ones...
First impression not really the best evaluation to decide u will like it or not...
The second mantra is RE-VISIT. Happened many times to me.
U have to re-visit the sample that u don't like after quite some time. After that u will surprise some of them,u will like it after all.

Just wanna say I just started getting into fragrances and bout a Hugo Boss The Scent from duty free shop. Funnily enough it's considered the entrance brand when I thought to myself this is a lot of for a perfume haha. Thanks for the schooling guys looking at the brands you mentioned hopefully one day I may move to something like Le Labo, though for the life of me I wouldn't know where to purchase all these brands, cept perhaps Mr.Porter carries most of the 'high end' brands.

Can try to walk around Parkson Pavilion, they have Van Cleef which is quite nice to start off with.

Else, you can also venture into Diptyque, Maison Francis Kurkdjian and Tom Ford biggrin.gif

Once u go niche, you might never look back

I trust and had experience dealing with PerfumeBerry and luxuryperfume. You can get the sample vials from them.

Van Cleef Ambre Imperial - go and check it out. I have sample and still deciding whether to a get full bottle or not.

Went to MFK to check out Gentle Fluidity today, both silver and gold edition are nice. Silver edition lean towards male and gold more towards female. Nevertheless both are unisex frags. Gold edition smells very unique as I never smell anything like that before. But Silver a bit generic, to my nose it is something like a mix of Creed GIT+Aventus, nice but not unique, still worth to check out. Currently sampling Grand Soir, they don’t have a sample vial but luckily they have a left over juice from their old tester bottle, approx 1ml left. Asked from SA and she gave it to me.

Attached Image

SOTD : Daytime BR540 extrait, nighttime Grand Soir, perfect combi it seems

Didn’t get to try Van Cleef but I went and re-test the Reserve Collection

A bit disappointed with Arabian Wood. Opens with bright woodsy notes before dialing down into soapy floral. My skin reveals more of its vetiver notes which makes it smell like an expensive soap. Sad that it smells nicer on paper than on my skin.

Wanted to get Venetian Bergamot but it’s out of stock.

laugh.gif left my number to reserve a bottle

As for MFK , I prefer the silver GF, tho I’ll have to agree that it smells like a mashup of the two you mentioned.

Seems like there will be a new luxury perfume brand coming in on April @ Pavilion. I can’t remember the name but it will take up the previous spot of Jimmy Choo.

Edit: it’s Parfum Henry Jacques

I don't know bro. Never had experience buying from them before but I've read in this forum someone had bought from them before and vouched that it's authentic.

Yes. Saw they posted about their discovery set which come in two sets. I commented on their IG if the sets are available for Malaysian market and how much but they didn't respond.

If not mistaken, izam7 had experienced with Rirana, maybe he can share with us.

I think they are the only local Niche brand that has expanded their business to overseas. Really wanna know the nose behind their frags, since quite number of westerners already reviewed their line, including Cubaknow.

province86 kindly share your thought on FM Musc Ravageur bro. Is it good?
