SOTD - Breath of God by Lush
It was inspired by fresh clean mountain air and smokey scents of Tibetan temples. What do I get out of it? Incense melon on ice! It's medicinal like mentholatum deep heat patch. Totally unique and original. Performance is very good on my skin.

The notes are neroli, sandalwood, virginia cedar, incense, amalfi lemon, melon, rose, ylang-ylang, vetiver, grapefruit, black pepper and juniper.

MdO Cuir is the latest addition to my humble collection. I also got more free samples than I asked for and for those who wants to know, as expected (>RM500), it was inspected by Kastam and Farmasi as there were Kastam tapes and Farmasi chop on my box. Fortunately, they let it through and didn't rip my box apart like last time.

Congrats. Very foreign name to me smile.gif

Thanks bro! I guess it's only known to the European market. I'm wearing it today on a wet cool day here in Kuching. Smokey animalic (castoreum) suede-like leather with spicy cardamom and a tinge of fresh juniper on top. Reminds me of the smokiness from Interlude by Amouage and suede-like leather from Anubis by Papillon. I have the new reformulated version (new packaging), which is not as strong as older reviewers on fragrantica said it used to be.

QUOTE(jaga @ Mar 30 2016, 11:38 AM)
received this today. just not sure of a suitable occasion to wear this. A tad too strong for the office in my opinion
Good choice with the Epic there. I find the projection is just OK compared to Interlude. Just don't over spray it. I used to have it but gave it away because it didn't work too well with my nose.

Has any of you guys bought the perfume from Best Buy World Malaysia? Are they selling authentic perfume? Thanks in advance.. smile.gif

I've bought from them many times in the past. All had been authentic. In fact, it's the cheapest place for you to buy Chanel and Dior fragrances.

Congrats bro on your new fragrance added in your collection.
Totally no idea what fragrance house is it.. Anyway where i can try or sniff this out?  sad.gif
I can see here more and more unique fragrance house introduce in this thread  rclxm9.gif

Thanks bro! I think it's only available in North America and Europe. It has very rare distribution but you can always order a sample online from surrendertochance or luckyscent. I don't mind sharing a decant of it at RM8/ml if anyone is interested. Mona Di Orio was a classically trained perfumer who studied under Master Perfumer Edmond Roudnitska for 15 years before she co-founded her own brand. She passed away in 2011.

Talking about unique fragrances, I'm currently wearing a sample of Enchanted Forest by The Vagabond Prince - fruity woody vanilla with slight booze. Quite unique in my book but not really my style. I'm also exploring the house of Stephane Humbert Lucas. His O Hira is a must try for any amber lover.

S(ample) OTD - Fresh Couture by Moschino
No, it doesn't smell like glass cleaner (Versace Man Eau Fraiche is). Peony and bergamot are the two prominent notes I get on my skin. Smells like one of those fresh floral fruity female teen scents at Sephora. Performance is okay on my skin.

S(ample) of the Day - Esprit du Tigre by James Heeley
It's said to have inspired by Tiger Balm. However, not sure if it's been reformulated, it certainly doesn't smell like one. What I get mostly are vetiver, clove, cardamom, pepper and cinnamon with mint on top, which gives me tingling sensation upon spraying. Performance is okay on my skin.

Looking for some advice. Where do you guys store your perfume? Anyone here actually store them in a wine chiller? Or should I just a mini fridge for my babies? Thanks.
I just store it in a deep drawer placed in the coolest place in the house and away from direct sunlight. I was tempted to get one before but then I read that drastic change in temperature will spoil it.

Am wearing a sample of Mortal Skin by Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777. As with all of his creations, it scores very well in the projection and longevity department. Smells like one of those Arabian Oud scents. A mix of Leather Oud + APlS.

I'm using ck one + davidoff cool water. But the perfume only last 2 hours++ on my skin.

I tried armani diamond, gucci pour homme sport, 212. Armani diamond and gucci pour homme sport lasts longer on my skin.

Now i wanna try other perfume that is long lasting.

Should i get jean paul le male + animale animale? This one i will blind buy. I like something sweet, smells like cinnamon, dark chocolate or coffee.
Or givenchy play intense + ck be?
Or the one + animale animale?

Or should i get the typical one (to be safe) like ck eternity and boss bottled no 6? Which i dont really like the smells. Tired of ck one + cool water smells.

Sighh. So confuse which one to get due to tight budget
*
Thought you never mentioned. It's very risky to blind buy even so if you're on a tight budget. You can easily try those for free at your local department store if you have access.

Anyone here ever tried a fragrance from Auphorie? It's from our country thumbup.gif

Apparently one of their perfumes,Miyako got a very high praised(5 star) from Luca Turin. He said that"This was the fragrance that started me blogging again","Unlike so many artisan fragrances that are full of charm but sadly fugacious, this one carries on majestically, expanding at first into a rutilant tutti and ending mf on woods. There was so far only one -ko among my all-time favorites, the one composed by Jacques Guerlain in 1919(Guerlain Mitsuoko). This makes two.  ohmy.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif

Anyone tried kokorico by jean paul gaultier? Maybe need to blind buy. Cannot find one in store. Hope it smells like cocoa
I remember trying it many years ago but can't recall how it smells. Marver has a bottle of it. You can try to ask him or get a small decant from him.

QUOTE(topgradeexam @ Apr 18 2016, 11:24 PM)
Does any of you wear Bleu de Chanel? It does has that smoky vibe to it, don't you think? I think it comes from the incense note. Correct me if I'm wrong.

While wearing it, have you ever had the impression that the smoky smell seems like cigarette smell? And if a non-smoker wears Bleu, would some people mistakenly think the person is a smoker?
Really? I wouldn't put tobacco smoke and incense smoke together.

Wear what your heart desires. Be it drugstore perfume or luxury niche. I wore Adidas Ice Dive to gym.

I'm wearing Guerlain's Jicky (EdT) today and sipping a cuppa earl grey.

Thanks...  Because I rarely use perfume....

My Hugo Boss 50ml bottle, 2 years haven't finish, throw away because smell  change...

How long does perfume last before it spoilt?
*
Perfumes if stored properly can last indefinitely but top notes may turn. Keep it away from direct sunlight, heat and maintain it at constant temperature. That's why storing it in wine chiller is not advisable unless you make decants while keeping the bottles in the chiller. I don't use a wine chiller. I can't afford a large one to fit all of my bottles.

SOTD - MdO Cuir

Most website listed Amen as the most long lasting perfume. I want to get it. But only can find the edt version.

Is the long lasting Amen refers only to edp, not edt? Or the edt version also long lasting as the edp? Thanks.

Most of the long lasting perfume i found, mostly in edt version.

Joop homme also in edt. Obsession in edt. The one d&g, the edp version is quite hard to find. La nuit in le parfum version, but way too expensive for me. Over my budget
You may be looking at older reviews there. Some of the perfumes are more than 10 years old that they bound to have been reformulated due to restrictions imposed by IFRA in recent years so they are not as strong as it used to be (unless you're buying a vintage). Blind buying is a risky business and I was a victim for some purchases in the past thinking they were powerhouses. Always sample current testers on the shelve first before making the decision.

Amen Pure Malt isn't strong.

Today I'm wearing L'Air de Rien and sipping a cuppa Darjeeling tea. It smells like salty human skin and that's actually a compliment from me!

Placed an order at fragrancex. They quote me rm444 for 3 perfumes. But then paypal charged me rm464 due to bad currency exchange since last 2 days.. Shit, paypal charged me rm20!!!!

The price for perfume also increase rm3-4 each compared to last two days due to currency exchange.

My 1st time with fragrancex. Cant wait for the perfumes. They ship by dhl or usps? Used the free shipping code.
