Finally I had the chance to sample Xerjoff Mamluk, and Al-Khat at Amsterdam. 'Niche' fragrances aren't really that rare in Europe. Now on Al-Khat, I have no idea what 'fecal' smells the guys at Fragrantica are raging about. It's just so pleasing to my nose.
Loves Neroli better than Bergamot. Neroli is like a stronger, more darker and bitter version of it.

If "fecal" doesn't smell offensive but pleasant to you then I must say your taste of fragrances are on par with the Europeans or French in particular wink.gif

My SOTD is none other than the all-natural cologne from Tauer - Cologne du Maghreb.

SOTD - Lonestar Memories by Tauer Perfumes
It truly is an ode to birch tar. You have to love birch tar to love this one. The closest of what it smells like that I can think of is Ambra by Santa Maria Novella. Performance of Lonestar Memories is excellent. Wearing this makes me thinking of Cuir Cannage and Knize Ten of which I might be getting one of them next. I've concluded Salome by Papillon is not for me after much testing.

SOTD - Le Maroc Pour Elle by Tauer Perfumes
Beautiful rose, jasmine and resins. No, not the usual jammy rose. It's the same rose I get from his Incense Rose. Like most Tauer's, performance of LMPE is excellent.

Nice shots guys!

Today I'm wearing the queen of animalic scent - Bal a Versailles Eau de Cologne by Jean Desprez, which was first released in 1962. Based on the packaging, the canister is the 70's version and the bottle ones are the original 60's version.

He's one picky man.

Thanks ruffin for introducing raider of the lost scent. I've always interested to know the different reformulations of the classics. Glad to know that one of the perfumes I gifted to my wife, Fracas, isn't so much different than the vintage.

The Sun is finally out today in Kuching. I'm wearing Dior Eau Sauvage EdT today.

How do you folks come into terms that, a bottle of your perfume can cost as much as a nice flat screen TV? More expensive than gold? My Zegna collection alone could pay for a nice holiday in Amsterdam? I can't. I should consider quitting this hobby  sweat.gif
*
I guess it depends on whether you're materialistic or practical person. For me, high-end designers should be <RM400, mainstream niche<RM500 and anything >RM500 is considered luxury niche to me. I would spend anywhere between RM500 to RM800 on a perfume if I really love it and it is rare/unique. Having said that, even though it is an expensive hobby, you can take it slowly and buy within your budget.

Hi guys, I hope you dont mind me joining this LYN Fragrantica..although the thread is for guys perfume, but i'm more towards unisex scent. Searched at the ladies forum, nothing  interesting & i dont wear makeup.

I mostly collect miniatures, and have a handful of full bottles as well....here's my wardrobe tongue.gif
http://www.fragrantica.com/member/257970/

Most fav house is from Diptyque & Jo Malone. I used to buy a lot from FragranceX until one day i received a warning from pharmacy dept prohibiting me from importing perfumes without permission from them sad.gif

Due to our shitty exchange rates & the import limitation i have to stop buying online/overseas...buying local are expensive too thanks to GST :'(

Welcome on board. We have a couple of female perfumista here too.

I believe fragrancex is under their radar. I received a couple of warning letters from them too with purchases from fragX only but I think it's okay if it's for personal use. I didn't bother.
