Speaking of Tuberose, my favorites are Tubereuse Criminelle, Tubereuse 3 Animale, Carnal Flower and camphorous tuberose found in the opening of Maai. Having said that, I'm not really a fan of buttery tuberose in Fracas but it smells better on my wife.

Yeah, don't worry about walking out of the door empty handed. I always does that. My experience with them had been pleasant so far, be it local or overseas retail stores.

I probably would go semi-retired mode after one last FB haul. Thinking to get either Knize Ten, Cuir Cannage or Mona di Orio Cuir. I have not been wearing any perfume for the past one week as my wife has just given birth to a baby boy. I don't wanna wear any scent near my precious.

SOTD : Versace Pour Homme

By the way, any recommendations for a new scent to try ? I've been trying out some samples but nothing seems to capture my attention.

Any bros here know scents in the vein of terre d'hermes? Thanks

Anyone have idea of YSL Lhomme intense hit malaysia? I did not see it anywhere in Malaysia though it is 2013 perfume

L'Homme Parfum Intense? Not sure about KL but I've seen it in Changi duty-free. It smells very similar to Fuel For Life Spirit.

SOTD - Dior Homme
Iris, lavender and cacao with a touch of vetiver and leather. I can't seem to get enough of it. It's still a stable in my collection after so many years. One of the best iris based scents in my book. A modern classic for well-dressed men.

SOTD - Prada Amber Pour Homme. It smells more than just an expensive soap. I've not smelled any scent like it. Totally original.

Wearing Calling All Angels on this cool cloudy day today. Performance is quite good for an all-natural perfume just like what you would expect from a modern day EdT. It was a winner in the Artisan category at the 2013 Art and Olfaction Awards. The notes are
Incense, labdanum, vanilla, honey, amber, precious woods, opoponax, elemi resin, tonka bean, benzoin, and frankincense. It reminds me of Amber Absolute by Tom Ford.

SOTD: Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme by Van Cleef & Arpels (1978)

A seductive fragrance starting with an elegant freshness made of sage and citrus. Its spice and leather notes underscore its unquestionably masculine feel.
The fragrance then opens up to produce a magnetic, intense, vibrant effect resulting from a combination of Sandalwood, Vetiver and Patchouli.

Yeah, that's the product description but how does it smell on you? The face in the ad is Gainsbourg, who was the lover of Jane Birkin. I almost wanted to put on L`Air de Rien (perfume made for her by Lyn Harris) this morning but went with Dior Homme instead.

SOTD: Arrogance Pour Homme

Brutal and radical of powerhouse...it smell like mix of Givency Gentleman + YSL Kouros + Trussardi Uomo (1983)

Dirty, Animalic, macho, brutal & raging sinus....

"What really stands out about this fragrance for me is how dirty and animalic it all smells.  It smells like it was brewed in this big pot, with civet, castoreum, natural deer musk, sweat, blood, semen, testicles and all kinds of other nasty shit.  Mixed with the patchouli, moss and leather, they smell especially brutal and raw".

Thanks for sharing. Animalic smells like my cup of tea. I was into masculine 80's powerhouses too but didn't get too far before I moved on into niche, feminine classics/vintages and now, animalic.

My SOTD is all-natural Cologne du Maghreb by Tauer Perfumes. Don't wanna wear anything chemical today.

just wondering, but how come duty free nowadays isnt cheap? or colognes no such thing as duty free?
i just returned from manhattan, in stores and even factory outlet basically same price / not a significant difference compared to duty free.
heck amazon even some cheaper than duty free...
*
I guess even though they are duty-free, merchants can still mark up their prices too. Not sure about NYC but perfumes found at London duty free that I've been to is much cheaper than Dubai. For further info check this out :-

I'm wearing Ambra by Santa Maria Novella today. I discovered my love for birch tar by accident because of amber in this.

i recall import duty still remains...but those that have sales tax will be replaced by GST.

anyway nevermind, perfumes too expensive already.
i'll just wait for another warehouse sale whenever that is tongue.gif

AFAIK, GST replaces sales tax but import duty stays. Perfume is under non-dutiable item so no tax is imposed if the value is under RM2k for parcel shipped via air mail. On top that, our MOH will have an eye on it if it's declared as cosmetics or drugs. Perfume is under cosmetics. With my years of online perfume shopping experience (for personal use) I had no problem with our Kastam except for once StrawberryNet wrongly declared my perfume as over RM2k and I got a call from my local Kastam officer but it all sorted out after I texted him a screenshot of my original receipt with actual value. BTW, I bought it on end of May 2015 and received it in June.

As for MOH, I received warning notice twice from Pharmaceutical department for perfume purchases and both are from FragranceX.com (all under RM500). I ignored them because there's one clause in the brochure attached with the warning notice that says it's OK if it's for your own personal use.

I believe the inspection is random and as long as your parcel doesn't exceed RM500 in value (because dutiable item starts from RM500) else they will rip it open and check, which happened to my Musc Ravageur purchase (>RM500). My parcel was ripped open but let it through because perfume is non-dutiable and it's under RM2k.

I found the info on this blog quite accurate but that's before GST. Always check against http://www.customs.gov.my if unsure (even though it's not really informative).

Tried it 3 years ago. Kinda reminded me of Gucci Pour Homme.

something is telling me this warehouse sale may be a waste of time...unless someone can say otherwise.
so yea, anyone think its worth it? no idea who the organizer is tho.

Not sure about this one since I'm not from around KL (well, not anymore) but I heard there were warehouse sales like this every year around this time.

Wearing Sahara Noir today. This is Amber Absolute + Incense Avignon. Performance is quite good. I got it from fragX July last year. Luckily didn't have any problem with Kastam or MOH.

ya, the last decent one was selling parkson old stock last yr or yr before.
this one doesn't look tempting, tho they may have some unlisted ones that are ok... if only know who the organizer is.
*
I've seen ppl bulk buying it then re-selling it here at LYN at higher price from last warehouse sales at Armada Hotel. I think it was organized by Luxasia if not mistaken. Luxasia controls the fragrance distribution in SEA for major designer brands.
