They used usps for me this time. I used free69 code
I see. Mine had always been DHL Express using free shipping too but I've never bought that many bottles in one order.

Received these two bottles today, blind buy. I'm not good in explaining how does perfumes smells, but what make me write these is I'm quite shock that Zegna Acqua di bergamotto smells exaxtly like PAPH which I tried from Tonney bro before. Read the review, comments in basenote, fragrantica, no one compare this perfume or even mention PAPH in the Acqua di bergamotto review. I can't really compare it now as my PAPH decant finished.  cry.gif

Wondering am I right or my nose actually miss PAPH....
Perhaps you got the memory mixed up? PAPH smells like expensive soap. Although I haven't smelled Acqua di Bergamotto, I don't think they are even remotely similar by looking at the notes on fragrantica. BTW, congrats on your hauls bro!

I'm quite sure that they smells similar, I know about the expensive soap things, I remember because last time you keep telling me that. You said PAPH is one of a kind, unique smell. I think you need to try it, at least you can assure that my nose is getting better lol.

For notes, both have "citrus, spicy, aromatic". But, longevity, PAPH sure last longer than this Zegna.

Edit : Thanks, hoping for you to sell off some of your niche's frags at an affordable price so I could have my first niche bottle.  tongue.gif

I'll check it out if I come across it. My English Fern is selling if you're interested I can let go at special low price just for you. Just PM me.

I'm aiming for one of your Serge Lutens, or at least Amouage.  sweat.gif

I know it wont come cheap and you might not sell it haha, but if I try, I want something mainstream.

At the same time I also looking for perfume with rose as main notes. Not sure bcs it is hard to test this kind of perfumes. All blind buy.

Solid niche choices there. My Interlude by Amouage is here to stay. It's my favorite niche powerhouse and I've just checked with the LYN seller that I got my Amouage tester from, he said the tester is no longer available for sale. I may let go my Chergui by Serge Lutens if the price is right. Seldom reach for it.

My ERIS sampler has arrived yesterday in just one week from Luckyscent. This is a replacement as they sent me the wrong (ALTAIA) sample.

On first impression, Ma Bete does smell like one of those animalic floral chypre of the bygone era. There's a concoction of furry animals with some sweaty cumin. Reminds me of La Nuit by Paco Rabanne/Maai Bogue mixed with Salome by Papillon. I'll need more time to understand it better to see if it's unique enough. Belle de Jour feels modern and it's just OK for me and I would have to say Night Flower is my fav of the 3. Immediately, it reminded me by Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle/Labdanum 18 by Le Labo which I love.

It's hot and sunny here in Kuching today so I've decided to put on my discontinued classic English chypre. It's soapy and powdery with a barbershop vibe . As I was driving to work while listening to Britpop on Spotify, I felt it fits in perfectly for the mood. I'm just gonna grab a cuppa TWININGS Earl Grey tea for my morning break. Good morning peeps!

Latest collection.

I'm really glad that I bought the TM Pure Havane decant. Nowhere to try this perfume, received the decant this morning, it smell so good, nothing like I have so far. Sweet vanilla smells. Can't stop sniffing my hand.

While A*men is not my blind buy, I had try the decant before, didn't like it at first, keeps getting better from time to time, though I still trying to like it now. Receive 1 negative feedback from officemate before.  sweat.gif Hopefully as my age grows, my taste also grows, and I will like it later. Same like Encre Noire. At first I like, "LOL who would wear this kind of perfume". Now, whenever I feel like I need to boost my confidence, EN will be my choice of smells.
*
Congratulations on your new haul, bro! Havane was OK on me. I see that your nose has matured. Keep smelling.

You guys not interested to split perfume? Just asking.

We can split cheap to mid range price perfume. Something cheap like animale animale, ck, hugo boss, to mid range like armani, hermes, ralph lauren or dior sauvage.
*
I'm considering getting Dior Cuir Cannage from Changi I don't mind selling decants at split price.

hi,

am about to order on fragranceX, is there a way to apply both discount codes?

- fx15
- free69

now it is limited to either.

thanks..
You can only pick one. 15% off is not much to cover the expensive shipping fee so you will almost always ended up using free69.

QUOTE(jarcmercier @ May 24 2016, 01:13 PM)
I just ordered 3 bottles from FragX about 2 weeks ago.  They use DHL again which i dont like as previous DHL delivery I got a warning letter / note from Ministry of Health.  Yesterday, I just got an email from DHL saying that my parcel detained by Customs Kch & the letter from Pharmacy dept of MOH to Customs to detain and refused entry my parcel.  I contacted the Pharmacy dept and was told that importation of perfume is against the law, even for personal use.  MOH has already in their records my previous infringement.

I was told prior notification is allowed for perfume but ONLY if brought in for sales & need to provide lots of infor to obtain the notification num which needs to be renewed every 2 years and each item imported costs RM50.  Basically, it means i cannot buy from overseas online stores anymore as using the "sales notification" method is not worth the extra charges.  Very disappointed as have been getting from FragX since 2010.  No more cheap perfume from now on  sad.gif  Well, if anyone still can try their luck...as long as Customs doesnt refer the parcel to the Pharmacy dept to check...i think they check on all DHL parcel.  Anyway, I have written in to MOH to appeal for them to release my parcel.  Now waiting for reply.
*
Sorry to hear that and thanks for sharing with us. From what I read, they will check on DHL Express parcels not so for registered mail and it seems that every custom officer knows of FragranceX.

The MOF Pharmacy dept just informed me that my parcel is released with last warning & any future detention and appeal will not be entertained.  Glad that they release it but sad cos its goodbye to overseas online purchases for perfumes.  sad.gif

All hope is not lost. There are still online perfume stores that don't use DHL Express.

Just a heads up for those in KL, bestbuyworld is going to have a clearance sale at its office at UOA II on 01-03/Jun.

Hi all, my first post here.

Need help on which online shops that is the least risk of being confiscated by custom. Looking to get SL Ambre Sultan (strawberrynet??), FM POAL & MFK Aqua Universalis Forte (essenze nobile??). Or should I just stick to decants/splits as my purchase so far goes thru without any dramas.

By the way, in this hobby when I was living abroad, and had accumulated close to 150 of various decants/splits/full bottle of designer and niche (no vintage...yet). Might do some decants later as some of my collection had started collecting dust. Now back in Malaysia resisting the urge to buy online, but in dire need to get a backup for the 3 mentioned.
*
Ambre Sultan, you can get it cheaper from Strawberrynet when there's 10% discount plus additional discount up to 10% from their loyalty programme. You can get from Essenza cheaper with birthday voucher. StrawberryNet uses registered mail and Essenza uses DHL (not DHL Express). DHL is German's national courier and when it enters Malaysia, it'll be handled by PosLaju. Just try to stay below RM500 to avoid getting unwanted attentions. FragranceX and DHL Express are pretty much on their watch out list.

Showcase your collection next time. Create a WTS thread for decants/bottles for better reach of audiences.

QUOTE(ferros @ Jun 5 2016, 11:37 PM)
hi everyone...do anyone can share any affordable vertiver base fragrance out there? where i can place my nose on to try out this fragrance? cause i cant really found any vertiver base fragrance in my place that i can snifft on..camt find it in sephora...wonder how it smell like...

reason being is i heard vertiver base fragrance was suitable as a work scent..and i currently looking for it...what i had found was tf grey vertiver or guerlain vertiver, which semm to have high compliment within fragrance community....

any thoughts on this? and do someone here offer ddecant for vertiver base fragance, please pm me...i am interested to try out some before i really get my hands on it.. thanks.
*
I see a new fraghead in the making with interests on specific note, bravo to that! Yeah, vetiver has many facets depending on how the perfumer chose to use it (either from natural or synthetic). The best way is to get your nose on vetiver essential oil from one of those home aromatherapy stores.

The following guide should fill you in :-
- http://perfumeposse.com/2013/01/14/vetiver...etiver-perfumes

One of the best vetiver scents you can consider is Encre Noire by Lalique if you're on a tight budget as it smells very similar to the more expensive Sycomore by Chanel. It's not really my favorite as a main note in a perfume but I absolutely adore Eau Sauvage Parfum by Dior which I am wearing to work today. Affordable niche quality smell with excellent performance. Though it's simple composition (bergamot, vetiver and myrrh), it smells very complex and creamy smooth.

This fragrance i also got heard bout it, and seem like it has been came out quite some time. But i usually hesitate in brought these fragrance, as what i heard, usually designer fragrance most likely will go through some reformulation, that end up losing it original personality and performance. dry.gif
*
We always discourage blind buying unless you know what you are doing and are willing to take the risk (I'm guilty as charged). No need to worry too much about reformulations if you always try before buying. Buy only the version you like (either vintage or current). All fragrances are governed by IFRA and hence, reformulation but lower end designer house will most likely reformulate to cut cost in addition to restrictions imposed by IFRA. Dior and Chanel are high-end designers. You can read more about IFRA at :-
- http://www.fragrantica.com/news/Forbidden-...afety-8073.html

The original Eau Sauvage was first released in 1966, now that one has been reformulated for sure because there are talks of reformulation everywhere and I have also tested both versions myself (own the current version). The Parfum however, was first released in 2012 and I have not heard of any reformulation about it. To be sure, you can always head down to one of your local perfume stores and sniff the tester bottle (if available), get its batch code and check its manufacture date at checkcosmetic.net. The last time I checked (two years ago) when I was travelling abroad, still smelled the same. Alternatively, you can also read or ask in perfume forums like fragrantica.com, basenotes.net or Facebook Fragrance Friends (closed group, invite only).

SOTD - Interlude Man by Amouage
This one is a smokey BBQ Amber. One of the best from Amouage. Mine is a tester bottle without the fancy cap and no, I didn't apply it when my baby is around because this beast fills up a room with just a few spritz.

SOTD - Absolue Pour le Soir by MFK
This is not for the faint of heart but it's my perfect animalic amber. What does it smell like to my nose? It's a resinous labdanum with famous urine accord from vintage Kouros (due to honey). This funky beast has excellent performance on my skin.

Nice! Congratulation on your new haul. BTW, how much is the retail price in KL?

I've also restocked Eau Sauvage Parfum and Dior Homme (still has one bottle left). Both are tester bottles. Got good deals from one LYN seller and my.bestbuy-world.com. Pictures will be uploaded soon.
