SOTD - Prada Amber Pour Homme
There's no amber in here despite what the name says. One of the best soapy scents in my book.

Hi guys, anyone tried Penhaligon or Miller Harris? Any recommendation for these perfume? My all time favourite is Amyris Homme by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Thanks in advance.
*
Haven't tried that many Miller Harris scents but my favorite are L'Air de Rien and La Fumee but if you do a search on fragrantica (http://www.fragrantica.com/search), these are the top 5 order by popularity voted by Fragrantica users:-
(1) L`Air de Rien
(2) Fleur Oriental
(3) Feuilles de Tabac
(4) La Fumee Classic
(5) Noix de Tubereuse

For Penhaligon's, check out :-
- http://www.penhaligons.com/best-sellers

It is said that Winston Churchhill and Prince William wore Blenheim Bouquet. Sartorial smells like bigger brother of Brut. Quercus smells like CK One. Not sure if those are your cup of tea. It's best to sample it yourself at the store.

SOTD - Interlude by Amouage
Smokey BBQ amber. Easy on the trigger. It's very potent. Mine is a tester without fancy cap and retail box.

It's actually not that expensive after the huge 20% discount and cheaper shipping option that I got and yeah, the price is indeed on the higher end for an indie house but I wouldn't put it in the same level as Roja Dove or Clive Christian. April Aromatics is an indie house after all. That said, the higher price tag that you pay is for its all natural organic ingredients used in all of its fragrances. Tanja Bochnig (the perfumer and founder of April Aromatics), like Andy Tauer, would personally thank you and answer all your questions. The juice is infused with 24k gold flakes, which reminds me of Goldschlager.

SOTD - Calling All Angels by April Aromatics
Smell of pure incense and amber (labdanum, benzoin and vanilla). Rich, complex and smooth. Reminds me of Amber Absolute by Tom Ford. I bought it for spiritual reasons if you read about how this scent was composed.

Thanks bro! I'll be getting Salome by Papillon next after CNY only if I managed to raise enough fund by then and for that reason, I need to sell off some of my dormant bottles. I'll post them up on my WTS thread this weekends.

Congrats bro!!!  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif
I can see here,We all have a diff appreciate approach on the fragrance. Is good that we can exchange the scent by doin decant..
Talk about 2016 New Year haul,My order 2015 reach me today! Nothing special, As my acquisition on existing brand that i own.
Hope to fill up the family portrait of my collection. smile.gif

Been argued and discuss by most of 'Ang-Mor'(Si-Mat salleh), Original santal sharing the similiar scent with 'Designer range' Mont Blanc Individuel.
I do not agree on this,And I love both scent. I was first explore Mont Blanc Individuel before stepping up into Creed creation,Hence i'm familiar with the scent.
Somehow is all about quality stuff with the money you paying. Original santal start off with a potent aroma of warm cinnamon follow closely with smooth Sandalwood.. As the scent are really remarkable. While the scent calm down, The creamy vanilla come out joining the party with Cinnamon,Sandalwood with the hint of fresh Juniper berry giving a twist on the scent.Giving it a fresh make over,And not overly sweet and cloying.. While dry-down was supported by Tonka-Bean(Easily detect),With some warm spice from Coriander,Rosemary & Ginger..
As the scent continue remain excellent on projection and longevity still there infact,is ady been 4hoursss...

LATEST HAUL & SOTD : CREED ORIGINAL SANTAL

I do find Original Santal and Individuel similar but it was based on a brief testing at the perfume counter. I think most just compare scents based on initial impression. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinions so there's no need to get yourself upset over it. If you love it, just wear it. Relax bro, TGIF!

My SOTD - Escape by CK
My first and signature scent in the late 90's. Testing Bohemian Spice by April Aromatics. Reminds me of Jeke by Slumberhouse with the dark patchouli.

Yeah, thanks! I took it at Damai Puri's beach when the Sun was setting to get the golden hue to match the color of the juice.

Memoir by Amouage is listed on StrawberryNet's Daily Special today but gone in just a few mins.

SOTD - Purple Reign by April Aromatics
Wearing sample of latest creation by this house. Reminds me a bit of Reverie au Jardin by Tauer Perfumes.

There was a discussion about this house on basenotes and brief description of each scent by Brian_Towers at 3rd May 2014, 03:59 AM.

Based on the notes, I only prefer Calling All Angels and Bohemian Spice. Bohemian Spice is the most complex of the bunch and Calling All Angels was a winner in the Artisan category at the 2013 Art and Olfaction Awards.

SOTD - Purple Reign by April Aromatics
Wearing this sample for the second time today. I get iris, violet and lavender. It's not the usual lavender we found in Jicky or Caron Pour Un Homme but in Reverie au Jardin by Tauer Perfumes. Take the iris from Iris Silver Mist by Serge Lutens and lavender from Reverie au Jardin by Tauer Perfumes and add in violet. That's basically what I get. It's a simple, natural and soothing scent. Despite its below average projection, it's quite persistent on my skin.

Was busy at work whole day today. My sample of the day was Bohemian Spice by April Aromatics. Right off the bat, I get a blast of kitchen spice tinted with sweet orange, which at this stage reminds me a bit of Calling All Angels from the same house and then almost immediately incense, sandalwood and patchouli start to join in. All in all, it reminds me of Borneo 1834 by Serge Lutens minus the cacao note. Projection and longevity are average on my skin after the loud opening.

My SOTD was Absolu by Rochas. Can't get enough of this awesome tolu goodness, which smells kinda similar to Tolu by Ormonde Jayne.

Cool stuff guys !!

I'm having L'occitane Eau des Baux for today.  Loving this during cooler days or nights.  Pity indeed it's missing from L'occitane outlet in Kch and not restocked at Bestbuy World online store.

Nice! My SOTD was NRFH. Smell of wet cement.

SOTD - Michael for Men
Pure Malt by Thierry Mugler with spices and tobacco added. It opens up with in your face spices and sweet fruity accord with a touch of tobacco. It then quickly mellows into very nice light fruity tobacco scent with the spices toned down a bit. Moderate projection and good longevity on my skin. It's one of the scents I plan on letting go.

There's a niche perfume store at the hotel where I stay, there are many houses I don't even recognize. Like Eight and Bob, Carner Barcelona, and PRO FVMVM ROMA.  blink.gif
*
Haven't heard of EIGHT & BOB. Have only tried Tardes by Carner Barcelona - Almond, tonka bean and musk, which is one of their popular ones along with Cuirs and D600. Ambra Aurea by Profumum Roma is one of the better amber scents they say. You might be interested to try their Olibanum, which is frankincense.

BTW, Strawberrynet is having 10% off :-

Davidoff Perfumes are so-so only imo ...
Their cigarettes are good though  rclxms.gif

Not sure about their cigarettes but I have yet to try their coffee. Yeah, no interesting releases from the house ever since Coty took over its fragrance business. I did own Silver Shadow Altitude but gave it away. I keep the classic Cool Water I still wear once in a while for nostalgic purposes.
