Wokeh, here's the story on Jaws. Phewwwwwwww what a rush job. Fastest complete build project I ever did. 2 days kau tim. Trust me, u fellas wont wanna do a complete mod build in 2 days. It's very, very, very, very tiring. Even after building so many rigs, to finish a rig in 2 days is extremely hard.
On to the story of jaws. 1st thing I did after stripping out all the hardware was to strip the chassis. ![]() After that I stripped the parts off the side panel, Masked n marked it for cutting. ![]() ![]() Side window rough cut is done. ![]() Marked out the acrylic for cutting. ![]() |

After detailed work on the side panel it's now ready for the acrylic mounting.
![]() After that I moved on to the top panel blowhole. At 1st the plan was to cut a top window. Then we had a change of plans coz this rig is placed next to the bed in the room n it was deemed that a top window wud allow too much light out from the top. It wudn b too pleasant to sleep with so much light at night. So all I'm doing for the top is a blowhole. It's all the way back near the PSU coz there's no space for it in the middle. The top ROM slot is occupied by the water cooling reservoir, pump, radiator unit n that is a really long unit which extends all the way back to the middle of the top panel. Marked out the top for the blowhole. ![]() Top panel is done. ![]() The case is now ready for everything to be put back together. ![]() |

Aiyooooooo be patient a bit lar guys. My stomach no spa treatment then I got no inspiration n mood to edit pix, upload n write story 1 lar.
Here we go with the latest story. Mobo, HDD n the extra radiator installed. Note the radiator is installed the same way it was when I received the rig. ![]() This is the way I received the rig remember? Look at the extra radiator down there. The fan is blowing air onto the side panel. Not very efficient way of cooling down the radiator. ![]() This is the final layout I decided on. The radiator is mounted on the HDD cage n it's tied to the cage for a proper solid mount. Previously it was just jammed into the HDD cage. Any hard knock cud haf knocked out the radiator n it'll start bouncing around in there. The new position of the radiator is also much better now coz it sucks air from the front intake fan n blows it out to the back instead of blowing sideways. Also modded the water kit with a complete change of all hoses to UV green hoses for more bling. The UV hoses r made for proper PC watercooling n r much better in quality n also adds sum bling bling. The hoses that came with the original kit was sum weird soft white rubber material. It was really, really soft n got squashed at 2 of the joints. Squashed joints=BAD flow, BAD flow=BAD water temps. I also cleaned up the wiring. No more jungle of wires now. Unfortunately the OCZ PSU has an unusual layout n the wires come out from the side near the window. Although the PSU is modular, it's very difficult to do wire management with it coz the insulated wires r so, so, so hard. It's like overnight noodles gone dry n bad. They're very very hard n thick. Can hardly bend the PSU wires. ![]() This post has been edited by ianho: Oct 13 2006, 06:19 PM |

Here's a closeup of the internals. Nice RAMs eh?
![]() Here's sum night shots. Whooooooooooooo, JAWs must haf had sum rotten meat for dinner. Sum dead cow that lived near a nuclear power station perhaps? Look at JAWs' intestines glowing from that rotten dinner. ![]() With the side panel on. ![]() N here we are at last with the final pictures of the complete rig. JAWs is now ready to eat all victims in it's path. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by ianho: Oct 13 2006, 06:37 PM |

QUOTE(nghj @ Oct 13 2006, 06:48 PM) Very effective. Coz this Evercool water cooling kit, both the radiators r inside the case so there's lotsa hot air inside the case. N with 2x120 exhaust fans now, it's a lot cooler. This post has been edited by ianho: Oct 13 2006, 07:06 PM |

Bro, why did u put the 120MM far behind?
[I'm talking about the one on top of the PSU] I think, it's better if u put it a little nearer to the 5.25 bay... But, what to do, it's already there... |
