Ermm.. Sry to ask, but how did you cut the round hole on top of the casing. I thought after you cut the plastic still got the metal thing inside to cut?

QUOTE(CyberTroop @ Oct 14 2006, 04:00 AM) Ermm.. Sry to ask, but how did you cut the round hole on top of the casing. I thought after you cut the plastic still got the metal thing inside to cut? There's no plastic up there. Just aluminum. So I just cut the aluminum n voila a nice round blowhole. QUOTE(khazz @ Oct 14 2006, 04:36 AM) TQ.QUOTE(Gamer @ Oct 14 2006, 01:53 PM) It's a full aluminum case including the internals. Full aluminum is totally bling bling enuf. I only paint the internals if it's a steel case with ugly grey internals.QUOTE(nghj @ Oct 14 2006, 02:51 PM) no matter how i look, the side panel paling cun Now, y wud anyone do that? jz curious, has anyone tried sleeving the water pipes before? QUOTE(Zicron @ Oct 14 2006, 03:56 PM) Is the HDD bay there hotter than other area of the case? Not really. Y wud u say that? There's a big 120mm intake fan for the HDD cage n the Raptor actually runs cooler than most HDDs. Ppl think it runs hotter due to the higher speeds n performance. On the contrary, it runs cooler than most HDDs coz the build quality is so much better n the HDD casing is made of really heavy stuff with cooling fins on it too. Cuz with 2 hdd, n 1 is the raptor, would be hotter rite? Like in my own King Kong rig. The Raptor is about 10C cooler than the Caviar at full load. |

QUOTE(eXPeri3nc3 @ Oct 15 2006, 06:09 PM) Hmm, newbie here... The top blowhole improves case temperatures a whole lot. Hot air is trapped up there in that cavity. The top blowhole blows it all out. U can google it or read sum magazines on case temperatures. In 1 of my Custom PC magazines theres an article on case temps using a heat sensing FIR Camera like what the military uses. U can clearly c in those pics that the top of the case is all bright red with heat compared to the rest of the case.Blowholes [is it the one on top of the casing |

It is because of the hot air is less dense compared to cold air and that's why it flows upwards? |

Here we go. I'm finally starting on it. I was supposed to finish off another mod called Tribal Dragon but that mod is delayed by a slight problem with 1 of my suppliers so I started on this while waiting to sort out that prob.
Anyway, this is how JAWS came home. Empty case. ![]() ![]() N here's the big huge box of hardware that came with it. New owner with new hardware. Check out the HDDs. There's a full 2Tb there! ![]() The work to be done is a full hardware install, sleeving, wire management. |

Woah... 2Tb?! Not to mention the number of 5 1/4" devices there! The wire management for this is gonna be interesting.
