QUOTE(Alan Yee @ May 26 2016, 10:23 PM) If you don't mind lack of heart rate sensor, no GPS, doesn't hate square watch, big bezel, than this is a fully working Android Wear with half of the price from any 2nd generation Android Wear that comes with built in speaker, AMOLED screen, and metal chrome, premium design. On Huawei WatchThen, Android Wear has it's own issue too, such as the watch will hang or lag in the process of connecting the watch, and the Bluetooth connection is weaker than normal phone's bluetooth, especially when streaming song from phone, or stream music from the watch to bluetooth speaker. If you connect the watch to other phone, the whole watch will reset, and the reboot and reinstall takes up to half hour. Don't know if this happen on other Android Wear, I observe those in ZW2. Then, apps usage inconjuntion with the watch is still very limited, only few apps can work on the watch, and only few apps can work properly(many are still very buggy). All in all, it is a better smartwatch out there that is most compatible with any of the Android smartphone (because it's Android Wear) that doesn't cost more than RM600 for now. Not sure about BT weaker, will test out when I received my BT earphone. Dont have issue stream song from phone. For watch reset when connect to new phone, that's Android Wear behavior for now, not sure if Google would allow multiple phone profiles in future or not. So far I dont have issue with apps, it's all depend on apps developer to update their to compatible with Android Wear. Even without app update, normal notification should work without issue. What apps you found buggy ? |

QUOTE(Alan Yee @ May 27 2016, 04:32 PM) On ZW2, Whatapps most of the time don't have notification pop up (sometime have). Check if it was BT disconnection, I dont have issue with whatsapp notification. But Wechat 100% has notification. Don't know if the problem is depend on the phone push (I paired with OPPO Find 7). Maybe I should try pair with other phone. The BT streaming I found is, if I have something block in between the device, or put the watch far away, the streaming will become choppy, no problem if put the watch very close to the paired device. I tested with my BT home theater and BT speaker, the song stream from my phone is perfect, without any choppy or signal drop, but the one from the watch is very choppy if the distance is more than 1 meter (no such problem on smartphones, or laptop), the same happen if playing music on the watch that stream music from phone. I experiment the stuff by covering the watch with a cloth, and confirmed the signal issue. Disconnection also happen often, if I put my phone in the drawer, then will have disconnection. (no problem if put my phone in my pocket) Despite BT version 4 already, the connection/signal still sucks QUOTE(kamikraze @ May 27 2016, 09:23 PM) IMHO quite disappointed, looks like just old Pebbles with new look. Despite this, their kickstarter campaign already consider success I think. Seems like people still support them This post has been edited by Someonesim: May 27 2016, 09:41 PM |

QUOTE(kamikraze @ May 27 2016, 11:02 PM) Oh, well, I'm still using old pebble, used pebble time for few weeks, but end up dislike the screen. Ya, can almost get ZW2 with that price I've been thinking to get Pebbel 2 to replace old pebble. But Pebble Time 2 got up to 10 days uptime, and Pebble 2 only 7 days. but for $169, can get decent AW already |

QUOTE(xyz_cityhunter @ Jun 7 2016, 08:16 AM) Actually, if you bought some that are not too cheap then the quality is on par with the original one. Won't get until a situation where you're seeing rust on the metal strap after a few month of usage unless you deal with a lot of mildly corrosive chemical while wearing that watch. I don't really like metal strap as it's not as flexible as silicon or leather strap where you can adjust accordingly when your wrist went up or down one size, whereas the metal strap will be either loose or tight fit unless you have the tools to DIY on adding or removing the segments. I hate it the most when the watch is hitting and grinding the pop-up bone (Ulna bone, i think) near the wrist... Can try search for those milanese strap, or magnetic loop strap ( aka Apple watch's )And avoid leather strap if you tend to sweat a lot, i'm sticking to silicon strap now for cheap, comfortable and washable solution... Am using Milanese strap on my Huawei Watch, the adjustment are much more flexible than normal steel/leather. Just that it's a bit hassle when you put it on |

QUOTE(eddmecha @ Jun 17 2016, 05:55 PM) I think it depends on how you perceive the looks and price. Personally I will stay away, and stick to those from Motorola/Huawei/LG as they have much more experience with electronic design and software. Yes, Google control OS but manufacturers still put in their own apps and watchfaces, just my 2 cents |

QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 26 2016, 03:36 PM) How long can a smartwatch life span last compared to kinectic machanical one? Anyone? Like most electronic gadget, 1-2 years if want max performance/features, 3-4 years mostly h/w may failed.Still Struggling where to buy Seiko solar or this one smart watch...Kindly advice dear experts 1.) Targeting LG Urbane W200 2nd edition because 1st edition W150 macam not so nice. However, after researched on Soya Cincau website found they actually keep back all the stocks after sell it for 1 week. LG’s second Watch Urbane axed after less than a week on sale http://www.soyacincau.com/tag/lg-watch-urbane-2/ Any LG watch expert? 2.) If put sim card on the watch of its existing cellular featured, would it have radiation to human body? Also, do we need to buy second sim from telco or anyhow, sub a new line? 3.) Any spare part to find? since LG might only offer 1 year warranty only. 4.) Compared to market hits now is Samsung Gear 2 (but i dun like it is round and small dial) and Huawei which is round as well. 1) Some h/w issue if I remember correctly. However LG re-released few months later. 2) Your body taking tonnes of radiation from bt/radio/phone signal/wifi all the time, it doesnt even have to come from your own device, if scared of one device from your wrist, should move to kampung and use analog phone 3) Not sure if Watch Urbane LTE had official Malaysia warranty. 4)Gear 2 using Tizen OS, which potentially near dead. |

QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 26 2016, 07:17 PM) Replied your 3 & 4 Personally I dont care even if Gear 2 sell at RM800 or lower.3) Not sure if Watch Urbane LTE had official Malaysia warranty. LG Malaysia official website also don't have this models. However, I compared both LTE and 2nd edition as below: LTE: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_watch_urbane_lte-7070.php 2nd Edition: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_watch_urbane_2n...eviews-7607.php 4)Gear 2 using Tizen OS, which potentially near dead. Samsung Gear 2 sold RM1399 Good deal? since OS sucks as u said. Moto 360 2 at around 1399 price. Zenwatch 2 roughly half of the price only. Add a bit can get Huawei Watch ( with gemfive/lazada discount, it can go lower than 1399 ) |

QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 27 2016, 03:06 PM) Meaning Moto 360 2nd generation or sports one better? I prefer moto 360 2nd gen. Choose Sports if you really need GPS.It is using Tizen OS...macam open source OS...lesser -ve feedback as i researched through... http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_moto_360_...d_gen)-7683.php Price wise RM1469.00 http://www.11street.my/product/ProductDeta...&tid=1400016030 QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 27 2016, 03:45 PM) Some even say buy Tag Heuer https://www.engadget.com/2016/01/30/tag-heu...ected-review/#/ got more second hand value but functionality wise no heard rate and GPS. For what? I would consider Connected if got lots of spare cash. As they claimed that you could trade-in Connected after 2 years and pay 1500USD for a real Tag Heuer watch ( possibly Carrera ) |

QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 27 2016, 09:39 PM) Actually many of current AW dont have, only a few that focus on fitness/sport have it. The reason to have GPS build in was for tracking purposes, when you jog/trekking WITHOUT smartphone.IMO it's one function I dont really care. Why would I wear AW without connect to smartphone, making it an expensive gadget with electronic watchfaces. |

QUOTE(uncle08 @ Jun 29 2016, 02:06 AM) I am lazy enough as I want to use my watch to make call and reply message while leaving my phone in car or at home when I go jogging or cycling. Also to calculate the steps I ran and heart bit rate no need to "ON" all the time as user will feel tired in the end due to sensor penetration into human body (hand/elbow's nerves). By enable two ways connected to server at the same time by two devices (mobile and smartwatch) I will still receive instant messages and incoming calls via respective sim without any skipping. Via Call Divert or Call forwarding feature from one sim to another sim. You could get Huawei watch at lower price ( lazada/gemfive with coupon discount ), just make sure it's official local warranty.-I love the LG Urbane W200 design and features because it is very mature and stylish...I don't like Garmin as it it too "serious" just for exercise used only. I don't like Apple watch as it is too cartoonish and I am not apple fans. -I don't like Moto 360 as well since it is round-circle-dial design and too small & tiny for me. -I don't like Samsung Gear S2 as well since same reason as above. (Only good match with Samsung phones.) -I don't like Asus ZenWatch even though it is the cheapest among but don't even have A-GPS i think or heart bit rate functionalities as complaints made by other forum users. I hate also the way it charge the Zenwatch via micro-USB instead of magnetic adapter. The screen is big design seems like worth-it-buy but unfortunately not fully displayed and little bit like China fake watch. Sry to say that... -I only like Huawei Watch with its black color bracelet very match with its round-circle-dial other than leather one but too pity that it has to be added another RM250 to top up to get the black stainless steel bracelet which is already over my budget around RM1795. Smartwatch not only need to be stylish but also its display need to be very beautiful , elegant , stylish and trendy. Functionalities wise very depends on individual preference. Most important thing must be COOL with the features you want it to be. Also what for ppl expecting the smartwatch to last forever since the technology changed from time to time. That time could be 5G or 6G with whatever functions provided to something new to them. Ppl wouldn't want to stick to old gadget unless affordable isn't it? Last for >5 years better buy something branded kinetic/battery watch. |
