Another fail product. The flat tire in huge bezel. Big fail.
*
Almost guaranteed that they ask some Chinese OEM brand to design internal electronic, hence the failed flat tire + thick bezel whistling.gif Not sure if any China OEM ( except Lenovo who own Motorola now ) got design flat tire smartwatch or not tongue.gif

hi guys, new to this whole smartwatch thing, thinking of getting one, any recommendations for round smartwatch? thinking of lg g watch r but can't find anyone with available stock. other possible choices would be the gear s2 classic or moto 360 2nd gen but hoping to stay below rm1.5k mark if possible.
*
If want GWR, might as well get Urbane, since now many sources sell quite cheap.

Thanks for both suggestions, will check them out. Also waqi953, what coupon do you mean?
*
Gemfive almost always have coupon code for discount, check out their website, under IT/gadget/electronic section, mostly there's banner with coupon codes. Sometimes when you apply codes, it tell you not applicable anymore, just wait for codes to be 'restock' biggrin.gif

Anybody got install screen protector on your smartwatch? I'm using ASUS Zenwatch 2 and could only find a few selling at cut throat price (~ RM 110) for a normal type of Screen Protector.

Is there any e-shop or website selling? Is there any Tempered Glass 1? Or do you all manage to keep your smartwatch scratchless without any SP until now?

Thanks.
*
Did using a glass SP on my moto 360 1st gen, but it broke after few weeks. Been naked afterward and no scratch at all. No need waste money

So I presume you will add 1500USD after 2 years, and Tag will replace it with real Tag Heuer watch ( Carrera ? drool.gif ), if that condition still unchanged.

A couple of days using pebble time on android... i had to say there are not many watchapp that really useful or available for me to improve daily life. Mostly i'm using this smartwatch for notifications and changing watchfaces. A few watchapp that i think quite useful though likes..

Gallon Challenge - Help on your daily water intakes - free
Strava Starter - Start / Stop Strava activity - free
Snowy - voice assistance with limited functionality - 2.99usd
Qibla-Prayer Times and Compass - prayer times not really accurate and compas. free
Battery+ - battery monitor - free
Health - step/distance counter. Not really accurate imho.

I think this is mostly because of fewer pebble apps developer and restriction from both android and ios.

How about you guys who are wearing android wear? Does android wear apps aplenty? or using just for notification and watch faces only?
*
I believe hands down Android Wear wins. You dont necessary need to install apps design for Android Wear, but rather normal apps install had Android Wear compatibility ( which install apps to Android Wear ). Although Android apps developer, but I read it's rather simple to add Android Wear compatibility on top of your current Android apps.

whats the most affordable smartwatch right now ?
best value 4 money smile.gif
*
Affordable, maybe Pebble 1st gen.
Best value really depend, Pebble are cheap while very limited 'smart', Android Wear are powerful but expensive. That being said, I dont think I would suggest Pebble anymore, they are stuck there with their own Pebble OS sweat.gif

Any reason why no Chinese manufacturer build RM200 android wear watch?

Google control. Unless they managed to come out h/w so cheap yet powerful enough to run Android Wear smoothly rclxms.gif

Android not Google control meh?
China block Google services but China company like Huawei still make android phone with Google service right?😃
*
Android is open source. Anyone can use it. Even you're free to make one Android phone yourself if capable.
Android Wear is Google control, as in certify/partner etc.

China company doesnt sell phones at China only. Even if they sell phones at China, it doesnt have Google services. They use their own or third party China sanctioned services.
Google's Android doesnt forced you to use Google services ( Amazon's Android phone doesnt comes with Google service, so does many less-known company ), just that most prefer to use Google's service as it's one of the best ( if not the best ).

Android wear mirrors ALL the notifications from your phone. WhatsApp, WeChat Hangouts, can even control music lol

Can even play music on it without connect to phone ( Huawei watch or those with speaker ) biggrin.gif

Eh btw is the Lg Watch Urbane 2 out yet? Saw it in Google IO2016 but no reviews on YouTube?
*
I believe that one is aka Urbane LTE ? I remember it's has re-launched already. Maybe because it's 're'launch so not much hype anymore. Was interested on that one previous, notably for it's larger battery biggrin.gif

Not in Malaysia. LG USA. so I assumed it hasn't launched yet. Now I wanna get this. Look almost identical to the tag Android wear watch haah
*
Ya it looks sexy while not too tech-geek with those huge button, although I doubt I'll ever use it. I think I only ever press 3 times of my home button on Huawei watch.

Anyone gonna flash Android wear 2.0 developer preview?
*
I really wish to. However flashing it require unlock bootloader, means void warranty.

I usually dont hesitate on phone, as Nexus wont matter but Huawei watch not nexus cry.gif

Eh? Can always relock back ma tongue.gif

All android wear watches is essentially a nexus
*
It's not nexus, so there's risk unlocking, not just in terms of warranty void, but risk of brick it and risk of not able to return stock and risk of not able to lock back. Nexus phones are easier and lesser risk because codes and images are available.

It's ok. Similar to Lazada, you just have to careful to choose which vendor/source that sell it. Bought my Huawei watch there with heavy discount ( already lower price + coupon discount )
