A friend of mine did his internship with Exxon, he got 1.5k per month. But I dont think otais here are gonna like it if you talk about money (with good reason) this early in your career, so tread lightly..  sweat.gif

Perkara pertama yang boleh abang lakukan adalah dengan information digging on the previous O&G Career thread from V1 until V6 kerana semua fakta dan informasi telah dinyatakan dan dibincangkan dengan serious sebelum ini. Maaf ya abang.

I'm now studying Master in Electronics, graduating Sept this year. I'm interested in  joining O&G industry. I was thinking to apply for Baker Hughes previously because I was working there part time for three months in payroll department. However, with the amount of people they are rifting, I don't think there will be a chance. I would like to know what are the chances of getting a job in O&G without experience.
*
baker recruitment mostly are on hold for now.. workforce readjustment after the merger

in fact, one of the forummer PM me saying that baker field engineer was freeze moments after he was called for interview

Personally, since you have a master get ready for the questions like
"so, you are more qualified than me?"
"do you think you are over qualified for this position?"

SNAP!
I have to concur with you. I am in my first few years of employment and my mindset is ' I am hired to learn, not to earn'. I am appalled at the attitude of these interns that think they deserved to be paid >1k a month.
At this point, I dont mind a pay cut as long as I can keep a job.

gosh! you are no an asset to the company that you are going to intern with. count yourself lucky if the company even gives you an ALLOWANCE.

an intern scope is to learn, he doesnt add value to the company.

know where you stand. shakehead.gif

*
who is the SKPB otai here?
mesti jaga jaga ni. haha.

Joining KHL or Pine well will have its own challenges. Definitely dont think to have it easy.

Usual misconceptions when people apply for KHL or Pine well:
"eh why salary so small? isnt this oil and gas? but even a fresh grad at pcsb/exxon/shell/etc gets paid xxxx"
"eh why benefits so little one?"
"eh why offshore living conditions so tough one, unlike my friends working offshore at xxxx"
"eh why so stress one? everything also i have to do? this is not engineers/jobtitle job. want to resign"
"so long duration at offshore? then refresh break just a few days? wah subject to management approval?"

But still the learning curve is steep and you will learn alot in a short time. Career progress is also good if you are a good performer from what i know.
EPCC, EPCIC jobs you will learn a lot there.

edit: Sekarang dah dikenali sebagai SKHL bukan lagi KHL.
