if a stock with growing dividend.. i will only look if DY%+DG% > FD + X%

Just a simple guideline.. X % you have to determine yourself depending on your risk tolerance wink.gif

but ah, some so called divvy stock with dy ard 1 to 2%, wer fd ard 4%. means need couple of yrs to chase back?

Technically ... if you bought good fundamental stocks at the wrong price, you might NOT lose if you keep for a long long time, BUT your profit margin and compounded gain will be severely hampered.

If you enter at very very very wrong price, sometimes even the good fundamentals can't help you.. you might do worse than FD.  tongue.gif

Now.. if you enter at ANY price at weak stocks, high chance that can say bye bye to your $$$  wink.gif

sometimes... every investor is so damn certain about their 'fundamental good' stock.

reason is simple.

after they buy....
how can the stock they purchase not be 'fundamental good'?

for example.....
some would die die argue Maybulk is a fundamental good stock.

Sayang a stock too much... refuse to see the negative point.. I think everyone suffer a little bit of those.

Every time hope and hope that it will turn around, but years and years.. never do it.

So sometimes we need to be objective on stock selection, once it no longer meets the criteria when we buy it, we need to say goodbye. laugh.gif it is not easy to do... sweat.gif

Thats why need to share on forum others can point out the weaknesses..
