More or less yes it'll be the same. Maxis got 2 type of internet, by default they will give you private IP type, which means ur internet will be connected to maxis proxy all the time. Second is public IP which is very similar to unifi, without connected to any proxy, but you need call to request it, its free of charge.

There is a lot factor which can cause internet lag/slow. Mostly hardware faulty on TM side, but they never will replace if there is no serious damage on the hardware. Mostly restart hub/switch/server on TM side will solve the issue but they never will restart it, that cause a lot headache to user like me. If too many house/user complaint it, that time they will just restart everything on their side. Don't forget, similar to Maxis too, they also got their own hardware and server side.

And remember this, there is no perfect thing in the world.

means the speed will be more or less the same right? coz my area is new, UNIFI just installed in june 2016.

so im not sure whether the maxis fiber will be the same speed like what im facing now..

30mbps.. but sometimes i only got 4-5mb, sometimes 20mb, sometimes 10mb.. i also what happened! most awful is when i dload ps4 game.. 3gb.. it takes 6 hours or maybe 4hours.. headache!

want to confirm here, I think few months back I saw MaxisOne 10Mbps has been reduced price, along with their other offers. but I'm still charge RM154.90/mo (incl. GST) for 10Mbps package. Am I eligible to get the package at the lowered price? I still have a few months before my contract ends

I used to be able to click "disconnect" and "connect" to get a new IP (i'm already using public IP).

But now I do that, it doesn't change IP anymore.

Can someone give me a way that I can change IP (in a fast way)?

Anything will do besides rebooting the router, because that takes a very long time, and sometimes I need to change a few times in a row.

Thanks

Hi all..

Anyone attempt to change the wifi router to that of another brand? Any success doing that? I tried setting up Linksys WRT1900ac and it was the most painful experience to-date. Nothing works, called up technical team in Maxis and apart from not being able to provide any assistance, they said, "Linksys? Huh? What Linksys ? You mean TP-Link?"

Anyone has any successful experience and changing/replacing wifi router from the one provided by Maxis?

Thanks.

not with Linksys but if you do not want this Linksys, let me know.

I did successfully replace it with tplink archer c7, and now with Mikrotik HAP AC lite. Yes lil bit headache but need time to explore. Just need correct VLAN TAG mapping and correct userid and passwd.

May I ask where is the biggest obstacle/issue? The Linksys said it is Maxis ready, i suppose they meant, Maxis (if not TM backbone)....

In case you are not aware of that, TM is launching some new plans soon which is a rather good bargain.
