Currently watching Special Forces-Philippine Marine recon on History channel.

OMG, In the middle of parachute jump test (only using just ONE Huey helicopter no less, bcoz Pinoys totally don't have any flying airplanes) which landing zone is actually a village-side rice paddy field, complete with village children and herds of water buffalos running around (which is ridiculous in itself), as if compounding the sheer ridiculousness, the sole Huey helicopter was called away, mid-test, due to some of clashes with communist guerrillas in another part of country, so jump test is postponed a few days until helicopter is available.

It's so distressingly ridiculous, made me ROFL and shed tears in bewilderment at the ridiculousness of it all. laugh.gif

could be a light ATGM like Eryx or Metis.

Cool, but unpractical. biggrin.gif

RPG probably OK, but ATGM too complicated/heavy to carry by bike. Need at least Pickup truck.

US Senator Jim Inhofe, desperate for war, caught showing fake and out-of context photos to US Congress in an attempt to pass a bill supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine government
QUOTE
Members of the Senate Armed Services Committee first viewed the graphic pictures in December. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.) then obtained the photos and worked to independently verify and confirm the authenticity of the photos, before providing them exclusively to the Free Beacon.

Inhofe said he hopes the images act as a wake up call to the Obama administration and American people, who largely have been spared from seeing the graphic violence inflicted upon Ukraine by the Russian-backed separatists…

Following publication of this story, serious questions have been raised about the authenticity of some of the photographs provided by Sen. Jim Inhofe (R., Okla.). Several images of the Russian convoys were taken in 2008, during Russia’s conflict with Georgia. Other photos showing Russian troops also were later proven to be Ukrainian separatists, not Russians. Given the similarities between the earlier images and those provided by the senator’s office, the Washington Free Beacon is investigating further and will update as necessary.

Sen. Inhofe said in a statement: “The Ukrainian parliament members who gave us these photos in print form as if it came directly from a camera really did themselves a disservice. We felt confident to release these photos because the images match the reporting of what is going on in the region. I was furious to learn one of the photos provided now appears to be falsified from an AP photo taken in 2008.

Warmonger politician. Donno how people keep electing these people. laugh.gif

btw i never seen t84 oplot yet in this conflict, where are those tank goes?ukraine to keep their trump card perhaps?
*
Those reserved for export only, need the foreign export money, civil war be damned. BTW, even T-72s are also quite rarely encountered in the war. Mostly older T-64 and T-62 MBT is used by both sides. Donno exactly why Ukraine won't commit more modern tanks, from what I read Ukraine government troops already quite desperately hard-pressed by separatist successes to keep any trump cards hidden.

If any is interested, here's a website that tries to tally armored vehicle losses from both sides (It's in Russian, but Google auto-translation makes it understandable). Donno how accurate the numbers are, but at least they make the effort of identifying from video/pic details, not wild speculation and rumor mill. Enjoy. smile.gif

In review, iran parliment got more postgraduate qualified politicians in the world while US u guess it not the 1st

That why us policy makers are stupid  even worse than ours. No problem in ukraine let them solve themselves, go poke the hornet nest and make it  worse.

US politicians get into the game for the money, not state interest. US say every other government has corruption, but US made corruption legal by the lobby system. Companies and factions can legally give 'donations' to politicians to further their corporate agenda in the government.

For example say a defense company want to secure guaranteed profits, they can 'donate' to a, say a US Senator, to push the US government for US military supply to conflict regions, in which if successful US will buy weapons and ammo made by that very defense company to supply to conflicts in the name of freedom and democracy & voila, profits for defense manufacturers!

By this system other companies, like oil, tobacco and mining industries also have some very powerful politicians practically in their pocket to do or say whatever they want.

What, new study shows tobacco causes cancer? Solution: tobacco manufacturers pay powerful politicians to say otherwise. Because politicians are always right. brows.gif

Pro-Russian separatists capture a relatively intact Ukrainian T-64BM after it hit an anti-tank mine after attempting to escape the Debaltsevo pocket

Easy repair, hull is not breached and running gear seems OK, just replace tracks and repair side skirts. In the next 1-2 days the tank should be running again. If the government troops abandoned this tank so easily, wonder they didn't consider throwing a grenade down the hatch before escaping on foot? Well, another tank into the separatist arsenal, I guess. yawn.gif

Donetsk people's Republic Prime minister/"Oplot" battalion commander Alexander Zakharchenko injured during assault on Debaltsevo

user posted image

Reports say that Alexander Zakharchenko, the Prime minister of the DPR and also commander of the separatist "Oplot" battalion has been injured in the battle over Debaltsevo yesterday. Apparently during an assault, Zakharchenko was injured in the leg by a mortar fragment as he was trying to cross a street partially held by Ukraine government troops. Zakharchenko was then transported with other wounded men by military transport to a hospital in Archevisk, in nearby Luhansk People's Republic. The injury is reportedly not severe and he is expected to fully recover shortly.

Not much are deployed though, due to slowing economy. Italians one of the hardest hit by economic downturn in Europe. In contrast, most Asian countries are skyrocketing economically.

In paper, the military of middle eastern countries seem frightening and impressive but on other hand they are not. Without foreign assistance they can't wage their own war, can't sustain their large formation of ground forces without their foreign military adviser and even some countries heavily relying their military matter to Foreign mercenaries.

I think only the Turks who made the difference from the rest.

Middle eastern countries have enough military strength to quell their own civilians uprisings, but not enough for international warfare.
