First Please Closed it because it already have Japan thread.

JR Rail Pass can used on 90% of JR Rail Train. That another 10% of JR train cannot used this Pass such as Tokaido Shinkansen ''Nozomi'' Class & etc etc....

Local Railways as long was JR

Metro 100% no....In Japan non of Metro (Subway) belong to JR

I'm planning a trip to Japan this coming April to 2 main places (Osaka and Tokyo)
Will purchase the National Japan Rail Pass which will be valid for 7 days to travel among states.
May I know can that pass also be used for the local rail-way metro if they're JR ?

thanks for the info RegentCid, as always

just wanna confirm that what Ive gathered from my research so far is right

I'll be traveling to Osaka ( 2 days there ) and then to Tokyo. I just need a 1 way shinkansen ticket to Tokyo and then travelling across the different areas in Tokyo, I'll just need to get a Suica card which I will reload it along the way. Looking to go to Mount Fuji on a day trip so I'll get a bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko and then a shinkansen back to Tokyo.

Am I right so far in the sense that I do not need to get a JR pass or any other passes which I might have missed, which would save me on transportation costs..

If it is just a one-way trip of Shinkansen then it is difficult to break-even. smile.gif
I just used Pasmo and bought Shinkansen ticket separately. smile.gif

ah ok, thanks

yup I'll be buying the Shinkansen ticket separately, Osaka to Tokyo on a Nozomi train

Pasmo and Suica are about the same right, especially if I'm just using it to go around the popular areas..Akihabara, Odaiba etc, been reading up on it but so far as I can tell, theyre literally about the same

During old time I went to Japan only with notebook and ball pen only. Writing everything down with very less picture but full of very very precision detail.

Last year 2014 I starter revisit all my journey again. Re-update those Info. Because I already got all the word infosince I written down. This time I take full of picture.

Now I got full full full of picture. Tips of the month going more and more picture

It just follow the line...you cannot stop taking picture. Because the line behind you was so crowded.
Full of police. You have no freedom walking around inside (inner part) except follow the Q.
