sakura blooming is actually moving north, week by week

if u really wan sakura, u can actually follow the blooming path
let say, if u in osaka... but the sakura bloomed 1week ago and u miss it...
no problem u jus need to travel to Tokyo... icon_idea.gif

---

last time i went... the autumn foliage is late by 2 or 3 weeks
i hv to change my itinerary totally...
i book the rooms day by day...

This round visit is at Osaka / Kyoto. As the Sakura and Koyo always dont have a definite timing, and planning far much ahead is a hit and miss. And most of the time is always MISS. Just unlucky of me.

me and wife (4 months preg) was there at Tokyo, January 2013. As during that point, alot mentioned radiation are in the water and also detected at Tokyo. We did nothing special, eat, drink and travel like normal.

Son is now 20 months and everything is good. If he develop some super powers will let you know.

Nope, I'm not taking you lightly or as a joke from your explanation and understand the risk factor. As wife and I decide to go Japan during that time, alot of ppl against us especially she is pregnant. We understand the risk and the understanding of, if really scare there is no other chance to go there this life time, as you explain that radiation stay for a very long time.

Been there again at 2014 and going again this year. Didnt go into details explanation like you do, maybe it sounds like I'm taking it likely, but I just want to explain in a lament term (nope, not in a sarcastic level too)

if later his baby born without butthole or 5years later he/his wife have cancer
he will blame everyone here

and if he decided not to go now...
mayb he can go when he is 60years old (cancer not a problem liau)
or by chance he have developed cancer here whistling.gif

I go Japan as much as 297 times already...going to be 300.
I put radiation detector device over my body ...the reading was as high as some one just done X-ray scan.
My reading so high one of the fact was 2011 Tohoku earthquake I was there.

if you ask me I won't dare to have any baby...I scare the radiation pass over

Q1  https://t.iijmio.jp/en/#point_of_sale

Q2  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seta_Station_(Shiga), http://en.biwako-visitors.jp/access/ haruka got serviced until        biwako line...stop at otsu take train at seta station i guess?

Q3  haruka express has 2 ticket (paper form) if u buy the round trip version and 1 icoca prepaid card
*
thanks for the reply. for Q2, i am abit confused, the haruka express got service until seta station (biwako line, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biwako_Line ) which means i can straight to my hotel (seta station)? and the Icoca card is usable on seta (shiga) station to kyoto right?

I check on japan guide website shown as below, got 1 ppl said quickly leave the gates and re-enter the tickets gates at kyoto station? what is he trying to said?

QUOTE
No, Seta is not covered by the JR West Kansai Pass. Instead, I recommend to purchase the Icoca & Haruka package, which will get you to Seta and leave you with 1180 yen on your Icoca prepaid card to be used on other transportation in the Kansai Region:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_icoca_haruka.html

If you use the Icoca & Haruka package, it is best to quickly leave and re-enter the ticket gates at Kyoto Station. Leave the gates with the Haruka portion of your ticket and then re-enter with your Icoca prepaid card.

The haruka train does not stop at seta station. At kyoto station, you need to change from haruka train to the other line.

QUOTE
After getting off the Haruka, ticket holders can use the ticket to transfer to other JR trains (except limited express and shinkansen trains) to reach any JR station in the area shown on the map below:

so you need to check whether Seta is within the map

How do I go to Kawaguchi station from Jomo Kogen station in Minakami? I'm planning to leave around 4pm so I won't be too late to check in my place at Kawaguchi.
I checked around and found the most convenient way is to take the shinkansen from Jomo Kogen station to Omiya station and from there transfer to another line to Kawaguchi station. Total time is 1hour30mins. Can anyone confirm this?

I didn't know it will be that fast. My original plan was to take the shinkansen from Jomo Kogen station to Tokyo and spend the night there (I don't have accommodation near Jomo Kogen which is why I have to go back to Tokyo where I have one). Then in the morning take the bus from Shinjuku to Kawaguchi station which will take about 2 hours.
