QUOTE(fruitie @ Jan 13 2015, 11:13 AM) Yes, the packaging is very nice. Once you open it, it looks like this. is it possible to send the sim to hotel reception 1st?![]() Customers can enjoy a package like a Byobu, a Japanese folding screen with an included origami paper. ![]() ![]() I think this is a good deal for tourists to get data in Japan, suggest RegentCid to add Iijmio SIM card in the first page useful for first timers in Japan. This is the link for Iijmio: https://t.iijmio.jp/en/index.html |

hi guys, few quenstion,
1. is iijmio available at kansai airport? i try to search from the point of sale on the website, but all in japan... My current travel plan, 2. I planning to get Icoca & Haruka packages during my arrival at kansai international airport, but it seems it is not possible to use regular IC cards for riding the shinkansen and i am gonna traveling to Seta (Shiga) as my hotel locate there, so i have to buy regular ticket for shinkansen (tokaido, kyoto --> seta (shiga)? 3. and there is 2 card for Icoca & Haruka packages? 1 is for Haruka (Return Ticket to Kansai Airport) and 1 Icoca prepaid card. QUOTE(ilikehandphones @ Mar 23 2015, 12:28 PM) Q1 https://t.iijmio.jp/en/#point_of_sale thanks for the reply. for Q2, i am abit confused, the haruka express got service until seta station (biwako line, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biwako_Line ) which means i can straight to my hotel (seta station)? and the Icoca card is usable on seta (shiga) station to kyoto right?Q2 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seta_Station_(Shiga), http://en.biwako-visitors.jp/access/ haruka got serviced until biwako line...stop at otsu take train at seta station i guess? Q3 haruka express has 2 ticket (paper form) if u buy the round trip version and 1 icoca prepaid card I check on japan guide website shown as below, got 1 ppl said quickly leave the gates and re-enter the tickets gates at kyoto station? what is he trying to said? QUOTE No, Seta is not covered by the JR West Kansai Pass. Instead, I recommend to purchase the Icoca & Haruka package, which will get you to Seta and leave you with 1180 yen on your Icoca prepaid card to be used on other transportation in the Kansai Region: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2359_icoca_haruka.html If you use the Icoca & Haruka package, it is best to quickly leave and re-enter the ticket gates at Kyoto Station. Leave the gates with the Haruka portion of your ticket and then re-enter with your Icoca prepaid card. |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 24 2015, 09:33 PM) The haruka train does not stop at seta station. At kyoto station, you need to change from haruka train to the other line. i see, but it is under same ticket right? i mean i have haruka ticket then i stop at kyoto then go board biwako line (train), which means when i out kyoto station then i need to retain the ticket then go to biwako line show the ticket again.so you need to check whether Seta is within the map https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/travel-i...s/icoca-haruka/ on the website, it show that the biwako line is included. |

QUOTE(RedSiglap56 @ Mar 24 2015, 11:38 PM) Thanks for your reply and suggestion. i think you can book online to reserve the ticket, then go to the kyoto counter to buy the ticket, print out the email.Do I buy the combo and Kansai Thru Pass from KL here or when I arrive in Osaka? Sorry for my ignorance but I am really confused. Thanks again. https://www.westjr.co.jp/global/en/travel-i...s/icoca-haruka/ |

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Mar 24 2015, 11:07 PM) If you are only covering Kyoto, Osaka, Nara, no point getting JR Pass. if i gonna travel from seta (shiga) to kyoto station, and only biwako line is available, is there any specific ticket or pass for this trip. as i staying in seta (shiga) for few nights, so will be few trip (go and return) between kyoto station and seta (shiga)I suggest Haruka + Icoca combo for airport transfer and Kansai Thru Pass. Check them out |

QUOTE(Sniperwolf1987 @ Apr 25 2015, 02:33 PM) QUOTE(fruitie @ Apr 25 2015, 09:24 PM) My friend helped me to buy during her trip, from Umeda Osaka. i think they started selling iijmio sim card in kansai airport (link below), although last time i went to osaka, they have not started this yet and i brought from BIC Kyoto Station. The bad thing is it cannot be bought from airports but it is sold in most of the BIC camera shops. Around 4.5k yen if I'm not wrong, 2GB for 3 months validity. Info on first post, Iimjio SIM card. http://www.iij.ad.jp/en/news/pressrelease/...TS_Nissan_E.pdf |
