Does Agoda accept AMEX transaction in MYR?
Then found out some of the deal in Agoda more cheaper in apps compared to MBB Agoda page as well.

I found out that booking thru Agoda, the room rates is more expensive than I walk in rates. I am comparing the 2 hotels I staying in thailand as I normally book my room by walking in. Think of earning extra points n I check the agoda, the quoted rates is more expensive, haven't included the 16% charges somemore. Anyone can comment?

it depends on your staying date (festive seasons, school holiday, etc.) and also whether the hotel has already increased their rate recently.

Yes, AmEx accepts transactions in MYR but not PayPal in MYR. I booked all my accommodations on Agoda using my AmEx.

Sorry for the off topic but during my previous booking for hotels in Penang & JB, hotels.com rate is lower than Agoda, I check for the same hotels & same booking period.
Not quite sure about hotels in Thailand though, I heard before Agoda charge about 17% for every booking done in a local home stay.

Have booked for Thailand's hotel yesterday, ya there has charge for 17% (10% service charge & 7% hotel charge if no mistaken), luckily got 7% discount plus redeem the Agoda point

Compare to booking.com, still the price in Agoda is the best

For walk in rates, the hotel doesn't need to pay anyone else. Hotels promos patterns will varies from countries to countries and this include Thailand.
Honestly, there's the internet / online sites where you can compare rates anytime and not just sticking to one provider for deals - it is not rocket science nor mystery or anything to raise a dispute about.

Just hunt and pay the hotel according to your comfort level and budget.

The 17% that I mentioned is referring to the cut taken by Agoda from the home stay owner, not the 10+6% service charge & tax.
