That's perfectly matched! thumbup.gif LOL...
Like I said before, inserting RAM 1st then GPU will fix your problem.

But, I think AsRock should take concern about this issue. Because most high-end GPUs come with backplate nowadays. smile.gif

Aren't it a standard problem for mATX or smaller mobo?

I mean aren't the dimension and position of 1st PCIE length fixed?

Not sure if any manufacturers able to move the position of RAM slots upwards a little.

They can I think. Each motherboard has different layout. smile.gif

Moreover, some models even don't have "openable" bottom or top latches for their DIMM(RAM) Slots.
By using something like this, it save a little bit more spaces. Maybe around 3-5mm, which is enough for a screw cap to fit through.
Example:
ASUS P8P67-M Pro, RAM Slots Top Latches are "openable", bottom latches aren't.

I still think the issue about the standard RAM placement.

As above, you will see that the 1st PCIE slot is full size (common practice for mATX mobo). If you take a look clearly, the RAM slots just behind the top screws hole.

For your previous board, it's RAM is place same distant as if the top screws hole, hence more clearance.

Yup, you are right, the most practical solution available now is single side latching RAM.

The screw hole is not necessary to be on top of the RAM slots.
Example here, http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/MAXIMUS_VI_GENE/

And, it's using "LOCKED" Latch at the bottom to save spaces.

So the problem is not because of motherboard layout, but the gpu backplate too thick right..

cons ASRock H97 Pro4

red @ the hole too near with the heat-sink so when screw need to be careful!

yellow @ when open the latch will hit the capacitor

blue @ wrong position USB 3.0 header cause the connector cable will be blocked if the GPU thickness is more than 45mm (mine 40mm so just nice only) sweat.gif

FYI, NZXT H440 USB 3.0 connector cable is totally loosen which can't really attached securely.

Regarding my problem with asrock h97m pro4 motherboard and leadtek gtx 970 hurricane, I just found out, because of the ram slot touching the gpu backplate, i can see the gpu pcb is BENDING. I had to remove the gpu backplate completely to avoid this.. Take notes to potential buyer for this two item which is not compatiable.. sad.gif
Removing GPU backplate wil give about 2cm clearance between gpu pcb and ram slot.
