i have asrock mobo and the mobo just died out of nowhere. i just used it for a year and few months and never manually oc the board

what a shame if asrock mobo is the leading manufacture when the current product fails to deliver what it should be doing
*
biggrin.gif There's no shame for a board that broke down, I have other brands failing me too.

As for ASRock I have the H81 Pro BTC, Z87 Extreme4 and Z97 Extreme6, and some FM1 board. All working fine.

I felt the same about the M.2 placement. Being under the GPU is inconvenient when one intends to swap drives, it's also very hot in that area.

exactly. although i have a third-party pcie adapter to remedy this, i waste a pcie slot. (was planning to have a sli setup initially)
using the Z97 Extreme4, the M.2 slot is placed at the lower portion which is between the second and last PCI-E slot, not too bad. At least not under the first PCI-E slot.

edit: checking out the layouts of other models (z97, x99), it seemed that only z97 extreme4 is the only one with better location for ultra m.2 slot.

That's really old. You'll have to look for it at Garage Sales I guess.

I still have the Z87 Extreme 4, lovely motherboard.

i think real world slightly improve only. my xfastlan can't open & app charger only for iphone user not android so useless. asrock software might need to improve. i prefer asus software nicer & stable that's y asrock always under asus, msi, gigabybts, evga, etc..
*
does the charger software make it charge faster than the rated supply by USB 3.0?

I find my devices charge quite fast with USB 3.0. no iPhone to try. tongue.gif

I think that's because new boards will come with the components that do USB 3.1.

I think you'll have to use the cooler that's part of the picture.

I don't see how one can mount any of the usual brackets.

My concern is that processors like i7-5960X, it's really hot. It's overclockable but sure it's also not sustainable by a heatsink that size.

Probably have to settle for the lesser processors.

QUOTE(User61 @ Apr 8 2015, 02:32 AM)
Seriously, why does the consumer need to understand the complexities of the trade? To be sympathetic to the plight of the corporation? Boo hoo, it's so hard to do business here :'( Are you getting your priorities right? What does the consumer want? Can the consumer actually buy your freaking product? That's so basic. If you say the listed models in this thread is available locally, then as a consumer I actually expect to be able to buy it here locally. What 'market complexity' should I take into account?
Dude, chill. It's really as what they said. The thread was started in January, and when did you start hunting? Even by then I notice that some sellers who once had the boards already took it off their price list. biggrin.gif You're just unlucky man, too late to the game so need not be a sour grape.

It's actually not as simple as you think. What they have also depends on what Distributors bring in, and what's available here could be available now but not available later. Things come in by batches and they're distributed out to many sellers so you got to understand that often the one handling threads like this would not have access to LIVE UPDATE data.

I myself have been in contact with many distributors and I can tell you updating own stock daily basis itself is already quite a task. A single distributor alone would have many shops taking goods from them, you can't be expecting them to call all the shops daily basis to check remaining stock and then feedback to the team that's managing this thread, right?

I've been using the Z97 Extreme4 for months, didn't encounter such issue.

Do you happen to be one of the victims?

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Dec 28 2015, 02:18 PM)
My PC (Biostar H81M-HG4 mobo) has a startup problem. When the main power supply at the wall outlet is just switched on, the PC cannot startup (like totally dead). Pressing the power switch has no response at all. After leaving it for 5 minutes, pressing the power switch will start up the PC.

Might be PSU issue.
