i have asrock mobo and the mobo just died out of nowhere. i just used it for a year and few months and never manually oc the board

what a shame if asrock mobo is the leading manufacture when the current product fails to deliver what it should be doing

I've the Asrock B85M-HDS here,only 2 RAM slots,but oh well,still enough for a few-to a couple-of years.

If there's a 1 stick of 16GB DDR4 RAM,a giod option..but umm,there's none so far,AFAIK..
Talking about the RAM slots.2 slots on an X99 ITX is kinda,limited if you know what i mean..
^ Broadwell isn't compatible with X99 chipset.

besides ultra m.2, this is the one that i am waiting for in laptops also.
for safer bets, always do this in bios screen or dos. windows versions of bios upgrades are kind of risky from my previous experience in other machines (was lucky to be able to recover from them)
yeah i think asrock mobos are satisfying. you will not need to pay more to have the worst frustrations that you can have in personal computing hehe

my previous bios updates were all fine in bios screen.

yeah these days asrock bios screen alone is already very user friendly. imo it's no point to risk anything, especially in bios updates.

also, if you wanted to play with usb settings in the bios, it's better to make sure you have a ps/2 keyboard handy (i think usb to ps/2 adapter should work also). i'm running ultrafast boot mode (w8.1 uefi mode. normally i go to bios via win+i), and my keyboards/mice are usb-based. with ultrafast mode, no usb devices are active until your os boots properly. i was stuck when i played with usb settings previously (just for fun, until it turned to something else lol) i unplugged the machine, left it alone for some time to drain power, and then tried jumper reset. nothing happened. (i thought it's supposed to work, resetting everything to defaults)

luckily i have an old ps/2 keyboard lying around, and managed to save the day
