Hi all
I'm new here and I have a small 45cm / 1.5ft aquarium. What filter would you all recommend for such a small aquarium? Something that won't create a 'washing machine' effect.
Thanks.

QUOTE(piglover @ Oct 5 2015, 02:04 PM) What I've read before is that people use clown loaches or puffer fish to hunt snails. Some people also use assassin snails for the job. I guess the clown loach is the easiest to find. Assassin snail I've only ever seen it once in a shop. |

QUOTE(fookie @ Dec 8 2015, 12:54 PM) question. those cheap shrimps you can get in normal aquarium shops (they sell for RM1 per cup), does it eat algae? and is it safe to put in with other fishes like danios? I have ghost shrimps in my tank. They're not very good with algae but excellent at cleaning up uneaten fish food. And they're pretty harmless to fish. |

QUOTE(mujinkun @ Apr 20 2017, 12:19 PM) Noted. I read somewhere before that for every snail that you see, there are 10 more that you don't see. If you can get assassin snails, you can use them to control pest snails. Very effective for me.I will remove its when I can spot them. Or kill its in the tank (is it ok to kill it?, ammonia spike or other negative effect?) |

QUOTE(artsyfarty @ May 11 2017, 10:31 PM) I'm giving away 3 Nerite snails, anyone interested? Nerite snail is a hardworking algae eater. They won't breed as if there's no tomorrow like apple snails. So tempting. But I'm just afraid my assassin snails might kill them instead so I better not allow them to commit murder.if you have green dust algae on your glass, nerite snails are really effective way to remove them. Instead of wiping your tank glass, you can enjoy your tank Pick up only, location near NSK Kuchai Lama [attachmentid=8808980] |
