Hi all

I'm new here and I have a small 45cm / 1.5ft aquarium. What filter would you all recommend for such a small aquarium? Something that won't create a 'washing machine' effect.

Thanks.

Can pm me how much u all bought? Tq

Amano shrimp usually cost between RM3-4 each. Nilufar @ Atria previously had a smaller Amano variety that they sold for less than RM3 each. Not sure if they still sell them anymore.

My tank got snail.. Baby snail.. Good or bad?
*
They look like pond snails and they multiply very fast. Best you catch those that you can spot and then get something that will hunt and eat those that you can't find.

Alright bro! What will hunt those snails?
*
What I've read before is that people use clown loaches or puffer fish to hunt snails. Some people also use assassin snails for the job. I guess the clown loach is the easiest to find. Assassin snail I've only ever seen it once in a shop.

question. those cheap shrimps you can get in normal aquarium shops (they sell for RM1 per cup), does it eat algae? and is it safe to put in with other fishes like danios?
*
I have ghost shrimps in my tank. They're not very good with algae but excellent at cleaning up uneaten fish food. And they're pretty harmless to fish.

where can I find scarlet badis (dario dario) fish in Malaysia?
*
I've bought scarlet badis before from Aquatics International near Subang Airport. It's the only place I've seen it being sold. RM4 each I think. But their stock for scarlet badis is quite rare.

1 and half feet tank, what filter do you suggest?

I have a 1.5 feet tank also and I'm using a Dophin 500 hang on back filter. Sufficient for my tank so far.

Just realised i have this clam like thing in my tank. I've killed about 3 of em just now. Anyone know what is it?
*
It's a freshwater limpet. They're considered as pests. Probably hitched a ride on one of your plants. You can Google on how to get rid of them.

Noted.

I will remove its when I can spot them. Or kill its in the tank (is it ok to kill it?, ammonia spike or other negative effect?)
*
I read somewhere before that for every snail that you see, there are 10 more that you don't see. If you can get assassin snails, you can use them to control pest snails. Very effective for me.

I'm giving away 3 Nerite snails, anyone interested? Nerite snail is a hardworking algae eater. They won't breed as if there's no tomorrow like apple snails.
if you have green dust algae on your glass, nerite snails are really effective way to remove them. Instead of wiping your tank glass, you can enjoy your tank smile.gif

Pick up only, location near NSK Kuchai Lama

So tempting. But I'm just afraid my assassin snails might kill them instead so I better not allow them to commit murder.
