I had 2 outbreak before and I use black out method to get rid of it. First, clean the hair algae as much as possible manually, do a WC and then cover it pitch black for 3 days (no nutrient dosing, no co2 and no light). After 3 days, do a WC, dose nutrient, excel (if you have), run co2 and turn on light (6hours) normally for 3 days. Observe if hair algae receded, otherwise repeat the same steps again.

From my experience, blackout works like a charm. After the 3 days black out, you should also see crystal clear water and glass. This method is effective for green spot and green dust algae too.
Good luck!

Cherry shrimps can also get at Nilufar (Atria).

lots of CRS, Red Reli. 3 sulawesi poso snails and 1 malayan

its not a major out break of hair algae, just that u can see some on the vertical glass (tank) some on buceps (the ones U gave me happy.gif )

Is the Fluval Edge 46l good for a planted tank?
*
I'm using a Edge 46L as a planted tank, added a fan and additional led.

IMHO, if its your 1st planted tank, then I'll suggest other fluval tanks such as fluval spec.

to take note if you want to use edge 46L as a planted tank.
1. edge tanks have small openings.
2. Ori Led light not bright enough for medium light plants.
3. The pump will run a little warm. average water temp is 28-29 deg.

Spec in other hand
1. full opening, but the tank is smaller.
2. Upgraded LED's for the new version. thumbsup.gif
3. pump runs cooler than edge's pump. ~ 27 deg

Riccardia chamedryfolia

mini pelia - I tried to grow them in a few of my tanks, but oddly all melted but one tank.. where it flourished very well. (last measured it was as big as my palm size, now probably bigger)
