QUOTE(WaSzupDupe @ Mar 8 2016, 08:09 PM) Im not too sure what grass is this as the seller also clueless, it is know in its chinese name as 新大珍珠草, he said it is not monte carlo . I also not sure as im new to this hobby, let it grow a bit bigger and i will snap upclose. It is day 12th now, i plant it from seed Magic seeds? No one actually knows what plant it is. It's famous in the indonesian aquascaping scene though. The thing is this plant needs constant trimming as it grows upwards more than creeping on your soil like monte carlo or cuba. I have a botttle of these seeds coming in from china. Do update hows the growth here.Day 0 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « A close up of the leaf at about 12 days old from one of the indo guys. Any idea why is my solenoid buzzing loudly? Ive googled and some suggests that the current is not strong enough to power the solenoid. But this is just not my case.
Thanks. |

QUOTE(davido @ Apr 7 2016, 10:32 AM) Same thing here. My diffuser also has a little green dust. Only these 2 things are attractive to the green dust algae in my tank. Others left untouched My seiryu stone also not covered by green dust, but other stones are all green. Thanks for sharing, because I was puzzled about that. |

QUOTE(davido @ Apr 8 2016, 10:48 AM) That's pretty good. My GDA gets on the glass, tubes, inlet/outlet pipes, but it stays off the diffuser. That glass white diffuser you're using turns green easily. Used it last time and I hate it. I changed to the long type and never had to clean the ceramic even once - but the tube and plastic part just need to wipe. Long type? Bazooka diffuser? I thought of buying that last time. But you'll need a separate high pressure bubble counter. Haha |

QUOTE(tehoice @ May 30 2016, 02:50 PM) can..... i dont see any problem with it also.... last time i user cannister without skimmer, just gotta live with the oil film on the surface. there are a few options you can try also. lily pipe, but since you using HOB, then cannot. can try installing an air stone, switch it on at night for aeration which can break the oil film. or try putting in a black molly, rumours say black molly can help, i tried, but it kept nibbling on the plants, so i removed him after a short while. QUOTE(bartbarb @ May 30 2016, 04:39 PM) freshwater tank doesn't rely on skimmer much. The only reason I was using a skimmer is to filter out the oil film produced by the plants. However, there was once my skimmer was kinda clogged and it stopped working. For a few days there were oil film on the surface and the injected CO2 was trapped under the oil film. Looks dirty and horrifying. I myself had use on black molly before & it does suck out all the oil film, if this is what you concern of. p/s. Any bang for your buck canister filter to recommend? I'm using a 2 feet tank currently. |

QUOTE(tehoice @ May 30 2016, 10:59 PM) for canister, recommend you to go with eheim, for a 2ft tank, can go with 2215. very gooding! couple with a lily pipe, then no more oil film issue. QUOTE(icedlink @ May 30 2016, 11:08 PM) I don't have the budget for eheim or fluval. I'm looking at ejet or dolphin. Any reviews or feedback on these 2 brands? |

QUOTE(davlee @ May 31 2016, 10:35 AM) Hi... where are you located? Actually I'm using Dophin for a year now, no issue thus far (touchwood).... I bought the one with UV. Not sure if UV light is a myth or not, but I have yet to face any green water issue. If you are located at klang valley, you can actually get direct from the manufacturer, KW Aquatics near Sg Buloh, cheaper than market I'm staying in wangsa maju. Thanks for d info. How much you got it for? Will they entertain if i just walk in and ask fot d price? This post has been edited by fookie: May 31 2016, 10:48 AM |

Made a very big mistake by scrubbing the algae off the ceramic diffuser. Now the bubbles are quite rough and it leaks a little from the side. Sigh.

QUOTE(artsyfarty @ Jun 5 2016, 04:45 PM) ![]() It's called Riccia fuitan, another type of moss. Did you get your HC from someone else tank I have that, came along with christmas moss I bought and it grew into a ball, looks really good when it pearls. The thing is, it will never root into anything, I did a mistake when I decided to trim it, all the cut leaves float all over the tank, it has been a few months and I'm still trying to remove all of it bit by bit because it's growing all over the tank! And, because it will never get rooted, the bottom bit can rot after a while. So, looking at your HC, if you don't remove it now, when it grows and pearls, it might pull your HC out of the soil just like the Pixar cartoon UP. So, based on my experience, you should remove all of it from HC now. |
