QUOTE(artsyfarty @ May 20 2016, 04:42 PM) I have a 2ft high tech tank with rotala, ludwigia and Limnophila vietnam. Oh boy, they really grow like there's no tomorrow. Now, I want to do a revamp with slow grow plants such as mosses, hairgrass, anubias and bucep. Agree... You and me both brother. Haha. Rescaping my tank soon. Wanna make it a moss tank. Those stem plants really grow like no tomorrow. Haha |

QUOTE(fookie @ May 31 2016, 10:02 AM) I don't have the budget for eheim or fluval. I'm looking at ejet or dolphin. Any reviews or feedback on these 2 brands? Hi... where are you located? Actually I'm using Dophin for a year now, no issue thus far (touchwood).... I bought the one with UV. Not sure if UV light is a myth or not, but I have yet to face any green water issue. If you are located at klang valley, you can actually get direct from the manufacturer, KW Aquatics near Sg Buloh, cheaper than market |

QUOTE(fookie @ May 31 2016, 10:46 AM) I'm staying in wangsa maju. Thanks for d info. How much you got it for? Will they entertain if i just walk in and ask fot d price? Yes, I just walked in and buy one filter. They accept, but cash. Last I asked, the price for CF800 is 180, excluding GST. It's good enough for 2ft. |

Recently I have rescaped my tank and in the process, disturbed the soil. After filling up the tank, the water turned cloudy, milky white and from the web, it seems like a bacteria bloom... anyone faced this before?
Will the plants be affected during this period of bacteria bloom? Have been 5 days now and it is still not clearing. |

QUOTE(artsyfarty @ Jun 3 2016, 10:11 AM) Here's a good video from dennis wong about algae control: Thanks! Will look into ithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDdpUe4Olcg QUOTE(jctasoga @ Jun 3 2016, 01:28 PM) bacteria bloom after rescape is normal. it may take a few hours to a few days to clear up depends on your filter and fishes power. Thanks for the advice! if you feel like it, make a 50% water change then it should clear up even faster. note that u should not disturb the soil anymore during ur water change. cheers! |

QUOTE(icedlink @ Jun 12 2016, 02:32 AM) oh btw about riccia. so far I have 3 types in my tank Pictures would be highly appreciated 😄the regular riccia, mini riccia (imported illegally lol), and one which is even smaller than mini riccia, which i like the most it grows horizontally - carpeting - not like mini or regular, and it clumps together tightly, dont go loose like regular riccia, even if it floats. the whole piece floats up, much easier to maintain n clean. i have them grow emersed, now it looks like super short golf putty turf. |
