QUOTE(davlee @ Mar 4 2016, 08:57 AM) Unfortunately yes... I have all sorts of algae in my tank, green spot, BBA, green dust, green hair... Green hair easy to remove. For green spot and green dust, I use those green sponge to clean the glass. Hardest are BBA... Do you use CO2?

QUOTE(return78 @ Mar 19 2016, 10:51 PM) Is this still there? Trying using waze to there but kinda that area is guarded housing area. Natural Plant No 6,Jalan Seri Taming 1F, Taman Seri Taming Batu 9,Cheras Appreciate TS update the list. That's one my favourite places. Two tanks with full of buceps. Waze location is wrong, been there then drive down a little bit, you will see many shop lots. It's in the same row with the furniture shop at the corner lot.

That's the beauty of it. So you can get a bushy stemplants after a few trims. Usually you cut lower than the height you want.

QUOTE(mkcmeng @ Mar 24 2016, 04:33 PM) sorry do you have the exact location of the shop? Check this article: http://theidiotspost.blogspot.my/2009/04/s...eed-of.html?m=1It's the cheapest. Before that, I was charged rm30-40, and due to my co2 tank socket isn't the standard one, I usually need to wait for a week. It was quite funny, I didn't know this shop is just outside of my condo, my 2litre cylinder rm12, took around 5mins. Mind blown. So good it's just walking distance.

http://aqualandpetsplus.com/Oddball,%20Borneo%20Sucker.htmOh, didn't know it's also known as borneo sucker. Apparently can grow from 1 to 2.5inch. I just like how it looks better than pleco and also stick on glass. Gonna get another one this weekend. One thing that I yet to be confirmed - I added this fish plus 3 nerites snails, my green dust algae (stick to glass) is reduced my glass still look quite clear before I do my routine weekly tank cleaning/WC. QUOTE(davido @ Apr 2 2016, 09:45 AM) Hi icelink, I believe that is sp Iris. The one I gave away I think is Brownie Brown or Ghost. Btw, it you look at the stem you got, the top part is actually a budding flower. Btw, I'm giving away MC culture. Just trimmed. Any takers, please PM me (or whatsapp if you have my number). Self collection anytime today or after 2pm tomorrow. Must collect latest by tomorrow. In PJ area. My MC root is melting like there's no tomorrow. Thinking of removing all of it and plant mini dwarf hair grass instead. Do you trim your hairgrass or it always stay the same height?

Initial setup actually requires frequent cares and WC, because your plant takes time to adapt, if you dose fertz, they most likely going to feed algae instead of plant. And Amazonia soil is nutrient rich too, that's why you need WC almost alternate day for 1-2 weeks to clear excess nutrient from algae. When the plant is weak, algae will take over.

QUOTE(ckck_92 @ Apr 6 2016, 11:45 AM) The tank is not heated, temperature about 30C Realised I made a big blunder, I have been reading up on starting a tank with ADA aquasoil and it seems like it needs alot of care at the beginning. Now that the tank is 5 weeks old maybe I am pass the stage of frequent WC or should I still be doing frequent water changes? I don't dose ferts. Quite afraid of the algae to bloom again. So far its been 1 week after clean up and big water change and no algae yet. Ammonia 0.25-0.5ppm, Nitrite 0ppm. In the tank now got rotalas about 15 stems and anubias nana, getting some staurogyne and crypts soon. Appreciate some feedback thx. After 2 weeks, you should able to do a weekly 20-30% WC. Get some stemplants, usually they absorb nutrient fast and grow fast, it's one of the way to get rid of excess nutrient.

QUOTE(davido @ Apr 29 2016, 07:51 PM) Thank you. Alive Aquarium is really good. I picked up all the brownies there. Still not enough, and went back there again to pick up the remaining Catherinae. Their price for Buce is quite reasonable. Tehoice, sorry I don't know if it will do well in low tech tanks. I do know that they are very slow growing and prone to BBA algae. So need to keep it at its best health in order to keep it free from BBA. lol! bucep madness!

QUOTE(davido @ May 11 2016, 04:42 PM) Thanks all. Actually I'm looking for a quick and harmless fix for the plant. It grows only on my Buce (see pic) and my SAE is not doing its job. No Chlorox as it will weaken the plant, and no extended soaks (like 1 week) as that too will weaken the plant. Best thing I'm looking for is just to soak overnight and then next day just put back into the tank. The quantity is only a palmful. So will probably use the Excel brush technique. Also does anybody know what is that thing growing on the stone (the red arrows)? Is that mini pelia? I've been trying to get rid of it too as it will eventually cover the Buce leaves. It does look like pelia/coral moss to me.
