Don't care much about the performance, it perform as it is supposed to. Just want to get the card because of the concept, technology and innovation behind it.

This what i call loyalty. Only way to rescue the company.

Put nvidia aside.. Wheres the 50% faster than 290x.
In the presentation that was the base gpu comparison.
*
I didn't watched the presentation..not sure if there's a replay of it. sweat.gif

Looks like 20-25% faster than the 290X.

I have a feeling that AMD may came out with a driver that increases performance significantly - still remember Catalyst 12.11? icon_idea.gif

Catalyst 12.11? yawn.gif Not even into PC at that time. whistling.gif

Still, it's a pretty interesting card indeed, even though the performance isn't really up to expectations. icon_idea.gif

It will be very intriguing to see how HBM is going to be the basis for future AMD/nVidia GPUs. hmm.gif

Having new technology on the table is always a good thing. Wish we have new tech on the CPU front, which is sorely lacking right now. shakehead.gif

Yeah,a high-end card that is short.Kinda weird TBH. biggrin.gif

No more GDDRx.But i think NVidia GPUs will use HBM2..and use GDDR5 until HBM2 comes out.

Wait for AMD Zen... brows.gif Broadwell and Skylake..the only improvement i like is the iGP. doh.gif

As I suspected, GCN architecture really isn't bandwidth limited in first place. HBM is just being used to lower the power consumption and the power saving is reserved for GPU core instead.

Which is irrelevant for most gamers as they will likely to use discrete cards rather than the IGP. Worst still those chips are not intended to compete with APUs due to their pricing. shakehead.gif

I really wish Intel increased the core count of their chips - it's 2015 already and Intel still stubbornly sticks with a dual core on their i3s... shocking.gif

Well for a cheap Dota 2 build..hmm..could work.

Inb4 the one after Skylake.

i3 - 4 cores and 8 threads.
i5 - 6 cores and 12 threads.
i7 - 8 cores and 16 threads.

Iris Pro 6200 pretty much made the purchase of discrete GPU under RM400 a joke. With such trend continue and Nvidia/AMD don't have a plan to change their strategy for low end GPU, soon they can outpower RM500 GPU, which is the sweet-spot budget of many casual gamers.

Don't think intel will jump to 8cores for consumer i7 that fast, unless there's some serious competition or they bottlenecked on providing any new architectural improvement... sweat.gif

The previously rumored hexacores config do sounds more probable, seeing that they actually do tried to lower down the price for entry level hexacores Haswell-E (5820k)

i3 3C6T
i5 6C6T
i7 6C12T
