If you meant youtube or flash video, some have problem & others don't. So it's not always. YMMV of course. I don't have problem playing youtube or flash video using hardware acceleration.

I also don't have problem playing video with DXVA too. With my previous AMD card, 5870, it does crashed/BSOD when trying to play 4K video using DXVA.

Is your card the HD7950 or R9 290X?

Why R9 290X 8GB?The 4GB version and 8GB version differences in terms of FPS isn't that much IINM.

Not much different. But 4gb will stutter when game need over 4gb.

I got a dead on arrival Lightning few weeks before, which i exchanged it for ASUS ROG R9 290X Matrix Platinum

How was the Matrix Platinum?

so far so good originally want to change it for 8GB sapphire vapor X tho... Hopefully this ROG card will serve me well for at least 3 years.

so there Bad seller Flooded Bad Batch MSI R9 290X Lightning... they sell off MSI r9 290X lightning in Reasonable price than base on luck if gpu fail they respond "oh sorry we can't exchange you full value.. " so need to Fork out extra RM to get it exchange with another Brand Gpu.. this is a Scamm guy...

I suggest you wait for the new lineup of gpu, if kenot tahan then try have a look at used amd 290/290x , gtx 970/780 . This gpus will have twice the memory buffer(vram) and also more performance then the 280.
